Today’s cutting-edge, rigorous and relevant career and technical education (CTE) prepares youth and adults for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career Clusters

Defining the Career Clusters: • A Career Cluster is a grouping of occupations and broad industries based on commonalities. • Expectations at the pathway level represent the skills and knowledge, both academic and

technical, necessary to pursue a full range of career opportunities within a pathway— ranging from entry level to management, including technical and professional career specialties.

Work-Based Learning: Career Practicum course may substitute for the Level 4 offering in all programs of study. Definition of a CTE Concentrator:

• Effective in the 2017-18 school year, the definition of a student who concentrates (or has a focus of study) in CTE will be updated. The revised definition requires that a student, who concentrates in CTE, earn three or more credits within a program of study only. These course sequences are structured to build upon the knowledge and skills obtained from one course to the next. This Career Pathways Guide lists the programs of study offered in each career cluster in our school district.
