Two wheelbases, fifteen paint finishes, one unmistakable face.

Making a trustworthy first impression is beyond price. The ap-

pearance of the Caddy therefore conveys the highest level

of competence, quality and progress. This striking, high-grade,

robust – and extremely versatile – vehicle is unmistakably a

Volkswagen. The many equipment options enable you to tailor

the Caddy to your specific requirements. No matter whether

as a Delivery Van with a large load compartment or as a Kombi

with five seats: you have a choice of two wheelbases as well

as numerous paint finishes and seat upholsteries – so that you

always drive exactly the Caddy you need for your job.

From fruit and vegetables to hard-working employees – when

planning the Caddy, our engineers took a lot of things into con-

sideration. After all, whatever you have to transport, it must be

handled with care. The load compartment layout can therefore

be designed individually with sliding doors, partitions, floor-

ing, securing systems, protective grilles and ventilation systems.

Only then can we be sure that we offer precisely the equip ment

solution you need to take your load safely to its destination. Should

you often have to convey bulky goods from A to B, the Caddy

Maxi Delivery Van has the largest load area in its class.

Many load compartment options and a volume of up to 4.7 m3 leave nothing to be desired – and a wealth of possibilities.

Folding, double folding, removable seats and a wide choice of seating layouts. A perfect seat – in the Caddy.

You have to adapt quickly and flexibly to your customers’

wishes? No problem. The Caddy Kombi is well prepared to

meet this challenge. This compact people carrier can, if

required, be equipped with up to seven comfortable seats.

Should you need plenty of space for materials, the second

and third row of seats can be completely removed. The single

seat and 2-seater bench seat in the second row of seats can

be folded/double folded independently of one another, so that

you have a robust load compartment – just the way you need it.

Eight engines – one claim: to be the benchmark for economy, dynamics and comfort.

1) Caddy and Caddy Maxi, 2.0 l TDI engine with 81 kW, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 7.9 to 7.7; extra-urban from 5.8 to 5.6; combined, from 6.6 to 6.4. CO2 emissions in g/km: combined, from 174 to 168; efficiency class D. 2) Caddy and Caddy Maxi, 2.0 l TDI engine with 103 kW, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 7.6 to 7.3; extra-urban from 5.5 to 5.2; combined, from 6.3 to 5.9. CO2 emissions in g/km: combined, from 166 to 156; efficiency class D to C. 3) Caddy Maxi, 2.0 l TDI engine with 125 kW and DSG, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 7.7 to 7.5; extra-urban 5.5 to 5.3; combined, from 6.3 to 6.1. CO2 emissions in g/km: combined, from 166 to 161; efficiency class D. It is easy to save fuel with the Caddy. The TSI and TDI engines

are powerful, smooth-running – and extremely economical.

They also comply with the stringent Euro 5 standard. This is as-

sured by ultra-modern technologies. For example, the two TSI

petrol engines manage with low displacement due to intelligent

turbocharging, and the five TDI diesel units have common rail

technology. As an option, the 81 kW1) 2.0 l TDI engine can be com-

bined with 4MOTION all-wheel drive – and the 103 kW version2)

with 4MOTION and a dual clutch gearbox (DSG). DSG changes

gears automatically without interruption of power f low – a

unique feature in the town delivery van segment. The Caddy Maxi

with the powerful 125 kW3) engine can also be equipped with

a dual clutch gearbox (DSG). The two partial gearboxes of this

transmission are independent of one another. Gears are changed

automatically and smoothly without interruption of power flow,

so that you always drive in the optimum engine speed range

and therefore even more fuel efficiently than with a conventional

automatic gearbox.

Electronic Stabilisation Programme as standard, up to six airbags and turning lights: a team you can rely on.

An extremely safe workplace awaits you in the Caddy. It comes

as standard with an Electronic Stabilisation Programme plus

trailer stabilisation, an antilock braking system, traction control

system and electromechanical power-assisted steering. The

options available include bi-xenon headlights with dynamic

cornering lights and turning lights. Should the worst come to

the worst, the best possible protection from injury is given by

the standard driver’s airbag and by the front passenger airbag

and side/head/thorax airbags available as optional extras. The

Caddy Kombi has a deactivatable front passenger airbag as

standard. Individually adjustable lumbar support is available as

an option in the Caddy so that you reach your destination in

comfort. This lumbar support (lordosis support), which can also

be ordered just for the driver’s seat, ensures a healthy sitting

posture on long journeys in particular.

Wet leaves in the autumn, snow and ice in winter – mud and

gravel on building sites. You are ideally prepared for situations

like these with the Caddy 4MOTION. A Haldex coupling distrib-

utes drive power to the axles in accordance with road surface

con ditions to ensure better traction, handling and steering

characteristics. As an option, the 103 kW version* of the Caddy

4MOTION can be combined with the modern dual clutch gear-

box (DSG). It changes gear automatically and virtually without

interruption of pulling power as the next gear is preselected prior

to the gear change. The hill holder gives you reassuring assist-

ance on slopes. It prevents the vehicle from rolling back so that

you can drive off smoothly. Should you often drive on loose

surfaces or on uneven ground on building sites, the engine can

be fitted with an optional underride guard. The Caddy with 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Because four can manage more than two.

The Caddy with BlueMotion Technology.

Volkswagen models with BlueMotion

Technology are part of a large-scale idea: to

save fuel and be more eco-friendly at the

same time. The Caddy with BlueMotion

Technology therefore has a compre-

hensive package of fuel-reducing meas-

ures, comprising a start/stop system,

regenerative braking, cruise control and

aerodynamic optimisations. Four par-

ticularly economical power units provide

the basis for this package: you have a

choice of a 1.2 l TSI engine with 77 kW1),

two 1.6 l TDI engines with 55 kW2) or

75 kW3) and a 2.0 l TDI engine with 103 kW4).

For the diesel en gines with 75 kW3) there

is a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox or with

103 kW4) a 6-speed dual clutch gearbox

which chang es gear practically without

interruption of power f low. A Caddy

with BlueMotion Technology can offer

average fuel savings of up to 0.5 l per

100 km and reduce the CO2 emissions by

up to 13 g/km compared to a similarly

equipped Caddy Delivery Van or Caddy

Kombi without BlueMotion Technolo-

gy – regardless of the engine type select-

ed. The Caddy with a 1.6 l TDI engine

and 75 kW3), for example, has an average

fuel consumption of just 4.9 litres per

100 km and reduces the combined CO2

emissions to a low of 129 g/km.5)

1) Caddy and Caddy Maxi, 1.2 l TSI engine with 77 kW and BlueMotion Technology/DSG, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 8.0 to 7.9; extra-urban from 5.6 to 5.5; combined from 6.4 to 6.3. CO2 emissions in g/km: combined from 149 to 147; efficiency class D to C. 2) Caddy, 1.6 l TDI engine with 55 kW and BlueMotion Technology, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 5.9 to 5.8, extra-urban from 4.9 to 4.8; combined from 5.3 to 5.2. CO2 emissions in g/km: combined from 139 to 136; efficiency class C. 3) Caddy and Caddy Maxi, 1.6 l TDI engine with 75 kW and BlueMotion Technology/manual gearbox/DSG, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 6.0 to 5.7; extra-urban from 5.2 to 4.5; combined from 5.4 to 4.9. In addition to models powered purely

by diesel or petrol, the Caddy is available

with two alternative drive versions: the

Caddy EcoFuel uses a combination of pet-

rol and natural gas (CNG); and the Caddy

BiFuel is powered by petrol and Autogas

(LPG). Both models are a paying propo-

sition in the short term but are particularly

of interest to companies who plan in the

long term. Due to more favourable tax rates,

both natural gas and Autogas are more

affordable than diesel or petrol. Both en-

gines comply with the Euro 5 exhaust

emission standard, and many communes

and energy providers offer subsidies

for purchasing natural gas vehicles. The

Caddy EcoFuel primarily uses natural

gas and has a petrol reserve of 13 litres. The

2.0 l EcoFuel engine develops output of

80 kW1). The Caddy BiFuel, however, has

a conventionally sized petrol tank and

an additional Autogas tank – this results in

an exceptionally large total range of up

to approx. 1,100 kilometres. It is equipped

with a 75 kW2) 1.6 l BiFuel engine. Both

models can be used in just the same way

as every other Caddy, as the gas tanks

are fitted underneath the vehicle and do

not restrict the load compartment vol-

ume or practicality in any way.

The Caddy Delivery Van.

As in your job, base your decision on facts.

The Caddy Delivery Van has a very roomy

load compartment with a volume of 3.2 m3

and convenient access on the front pas-

senger side through a 70 cm wide sliding

door – incidentally, the widest in its class.

Materials and tools can be loaded quickly

and easily through the standard tailgate

or optional rear wing doors. On request, you

can receive the Caddy Delivery Van with

a second sliding door on the driver’s side.

To ensure that your load is always firmly

secured on its way to your destination, the

vehicle has six lashing eyes as standard

and a full par tition to the cab. Long and

bulky items can also be transported easily

with the help of the optional Flex Plus

seat pack age. This consists of a partition that

can be pivoted forward plus a double-

folding front passenger seat and increases

the load compartment volume to 3.7 m3.

Your sitting comfort is assured in the Caddy

Counter a maximum of requirements

with a maximum of space. The Caddy

Maxi Delivery Van can easily transport

larger loads thanks to the longest load

compartment in its class and a volume

of up to 4.2 m3. This means that you can

transport even long and bulky items

weighing up to 800 kg. With the optional

Flex Plus seat package, the load volume

can be increased up to 4.7 m3 and the

maximum load length to 3,070 mm. The

Caddy Maxi Delivery Van has practical,

lashing rails on the side panels as an op-

tion to safely secure your load.

The Caddy Kombi.

A place for everything and everything in its

place. There is ample room for five in the

Caddy Kombi – and for plenty of tools and

other utensils as well. With a third row of

seats, the generous interior provides seating

for seven altogether. The space offered

by the Caddy Kombi combined with robust,

high-quality workmanship and especially

hard-wearing equipment make it an uncom-

plicated colleague you can rely on.Caddy and Caddy Maxi, fuel consumption in l/100 km (m3/100 km for natural gas): for petrol and diesel: combined, from 8.2 to 4.9. Time and cost schedules often restrict

scope considerably. That is why the Caddy

Maxi Kombi is so flexible. With the stan-

dard second and optional third row of seats,

it can, if required, carry up to seven people

together with their equipment. The single

seat in the second row of seats can be

folded or double folded forward separately

for easy access when getting in and out

of the vehicle. Should you have more than

usual to transport at any time, the 47 cm

longer passenger compartment and load

space can be adapted accordingly in next

to no time – by folding or completely re-

moving the 3-seater bench seat in the

second row of seats and the 2-seater bench

seat in the third row of seats. This sounds

extraordinarily flexible – but is typical for

the variable interior of the Caddy.Caddy and Caddy Maxi, fuel consumption in l/100 km (m3/100 km for natural gas): for petrol and diesel: combined, from 8.2 to 4.9. The Caddy Edition 30.

The Caddy celebrates its 30th anniversary in

2012. This means 30 years of delivering

flexibility, space and efficiency, plus 30 years

full of experience and further develop-

ment. The most fitting way to celebrate this

occasion is with our Caddy Edition 30

an niversary model based on the Caddy

Delivery Van with short wheelbase.

The distinctive design – highlighted by ex-

clusive 17" “Budapest” alloy wheels and

high-gloss black paint on many body parts,

for example, on the roof and roof rails –

makes it unmistakable. A very special am-

bience awaits you inside with features like

the leather-covered steering wheel with flan-

nel grey stitching and optional Alcantara

upholstery.

The Caddy Edition 30 also has an exclusive

drivetrain: in addition to the usual Caddy

diesel and petrol engines1), an extremely

powerful 2.0 l TDI with 125 kW2) and dual

clutch gearbox (DSG) is available.1) With the exception of the EcoFuel and BiFuel engine and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. 2) Caddy Edition 30, 2.0 l TDI engine with 125 kW, fuel consumption in l/100 km for diesel: urban from 7.7 to 7.5; extra-urban from 5.5 to 5.3; combined, from 6.3 to 6.1. Special preparation options available ex-

works make the Caddy a vehicle with al-

most unlimited possibilities for manu-

facturers of special bodies. Above all, this

includes an electric interface for external

use. The body too is ideal for conversions

due to the special rear axle construction

which offers plenty of space between the

rear wheel housings and a level surface

for loading. The large dimensions of the

rear opening is another indispensable

advantage for everyday use, particularly for

the transport of passengers who require a

wheelchair. Purpose-built equipment is avail-

able ex-works for this, also optional prepa-

ration for fitting a compressor in refrigerated

vehicles. For permanent and fixed instal-

lations, we recommend increasing the max-

imum unladen weight by 180 kg for ideal

starting conditions. In this case, specially

matched, reinforced leaf springs can be

fitted as an option in order to achieve an

ideal rear ride height and the safest pos-

sible roadholding. You will find examples of

the professional conversions and special

bodies based on Volkswagen Commercial

Vehicles at www.umbauportal.de which

offers a comprehensive overview of trans-

port solutions and special body manufac-

turers who work closely with Volkswagen

rubbing strips and the light mounting for the license plate. The 17" alloy wheels are

also partially painted black. The exterior paint finish, which also includes attachment

parts and bumpers, is available in Candy White and four other colours: Primavera

Cruise control. As of a speed of 30 km/h,

cruise control keeps the speed at a

constant level so that you can take your

foot off the accelerator pedal. The even

speed lowers fuel consumption.

We have taken our assignment from you seriously: to build engines that are even more

efficient and economical but at the same time generate more power. The technologies

used such as small displacement engines with turbocharging or the dual clutch gearbox

(DSG) are considered to have groundbreaking efficiency, comfort and dynamics. This

may be unusual for a vehicle in this class – but is a matter of course for a Volkswagen.

Engines, running gear and transmission.

4MOTION all-wheel drive. Should

a wheel lose traction, 4MOTION inter-

venes immediately. Power is directed

away from the wheel so that the other

wheels briefly take over its function

and, as a result, wheelspin is avoided.

Wherever your journey takes you – you will always have a good feeling about driving the

Caddy with BlueMotion Technology. A comprehensive technology package contributes

towards a noticeable reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions – without for-

feiting comfort in any way. The Caddy with a 1.6 l TDI engine and 75 kW3), for example,

has an average fuel consumption of just 4.9 l per 100 km and reduces the combined

CO2 emissions to low 129 g/km.

Caddy with BlueMotion Technology.

Start/stop system. This helps you to

drive economically. When the vehicle is

shifted into neutral at red traffic lights,

the system switches the engine off auto-

matically and starts it again as soon as

the journey is continued.

7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG)

(not illustrated). This changes gear fully

au tomatically without interruption of

pulling power and is available for the

more powerful of the two1.6 l TDI en-

gines. A 6-speed dual clutch gearbox is

supplied as standard for the 125 kW

engine1) and as an option for the 103 kW

engine2). In addition, the 103 kW version

is available with 4MOTION all-wheel

drive in conjunction with a dual clutch

gearbox.

TSI petrol engine. A combination of

direct injection and turbocharging makes

the 1.2 l TSI engine more economical

and more powerful than other petrol

engines. It is available in two output

categories.

Hill Start Assist (not illustrated). This

prevents the vehicle from rolling back on

inclines, making it easier to start off on

uphill slopes. Hill Start Assist is standard

on the Caddy 4MOTION, the Caddy

with BlueMotion Technology and all

Caddy models with a dual clutch gear-

box (DSG).

BlueMotion Technology package. This includes a start/stop system, regenerative brak-

ing, modified gear ratios4 ), low-friction tyres and targeted aerodynamic optimisation.

Therefore, in comparison to a similarly equipped Caddy without BlueMotion Technology,

the Caddy with BlueMotion Technology saves an average of 0.5 litres of fuel per 100 km

and lowers CO2 emissions by up to 13 g/km. All engines including diesel particulate filter

available for the Caddy can be selected – with the exception of the EcoFuel and BiFuel

engines and 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

CO2 emissions in g/km: combined, from 166 to 156; efficiency class D to C. 3) Caddy and Caddy Maxi, 1.6 l TDI engine with 75 kW and BlueMotion Technology/manual gearbox/DSG, fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban from 6.0 to 5.7; extra-urban from 5.2 to 4.5; combined, from 5.4 to 4.9. Common rail TDI engines. The combination of small displacement, turbocharging

and direct injection makes the TDI engines particularly efficient. Accurate injection

processes under high pressure ensure that fuel is burned evenly, resulting in high

performance at low fuel consumption. The efficiency of these engines is further sup-

ported by the low maintenance costs. Two 1.6 l TDI and two 2.0 litre TDI engines are

available for the Caddy and a 1.6 l TDI and three 2.0 l TDI engines for the Caddy Maxi.

reserve supply of petrol extends your radius of action to approx. 570 km. The natural gas tanks in the Caddy Maxi EcoFuel have a capacity

of 37 kg so that, together with the petrol reserve, this model can cover a distance of up to 700 km. The natural gas is burned in a

powerful 80 kW 2.0 l engine1).

insert is ideal for everything that could

soil the luggage compartment during

transport. The tub is acid-resistant,

protects from dirt and is easy to clean.

Luggage compartment insert. The light,

flexible insert precisely fits the contours

of the Caddy. An approx. 5 cm raised rim

around the edge provides protection

from moisture and dirt. The diamond

pattern integrated in the insert has a

non-slip effect.

Sill protection film. This robust film

protects the paintwork in the front and

rear entry area from scratches and

damage.

Mesh partition with divider (not illus-

trated). The par tition helps to ensure

that shopping, luggage or pets travelling

in the luggage compartment pose no

risks even if the vehicle is braked abruptly.

It separates the luggage compartment

from the passenger compartment. The

robust, black powder coated steel parti-

tion can easily by secured between the

f loor and headlining. No additional

drilling is required and the partition can

be removed at any time. The divider

helps to keep the luggage area tidy. The

60  –  Environmental Commendation  –  The Caddy The Caddy –  Fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and efficiency classes  –  61

Volkswagen’s Environmental Commendation for vehicles and technologies highlights ecological progress in comparison with pred-

ecessor models or comparative models. This is based on Life Cycle Assessments in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 which

are verified by independent experts – in the case of Volkswagen, by the technical inspection organisation TÜV Nord. The Life Cycle

Assessment covers not only consumption and exhaust emission figures but also the entire life cycle of a Caddy – from its production

and use to the recycling process. This means that the energy used during assembly and the future recycling of materials are taken

into account in the calculation. Detailed results of the Life Cycle Assessment and additional information on how Volkswagen products

and processes are devised to be more environment friendly are given on the Internet: www.umweltpraedikat.de.

The Caddy with Environmental Commendation.

1) Caddy Delivery Van and Caddy Edition 30. 2) The figures listed have been determined in accordance with the measuring method stipulated (the version of § 2 Nos. 5, 6, 6a Pkw-EnVKV currently valid or, for truck models, the version of EC regulation 715/2007 currently valid). When determining CO2 emissions in accordance with directive 1999/94/EC, the CO2 emissions incurred during the production and supply process of the fuel or other energy sources are not taken into account. These figures do not refer to a particular vehicle and do not constitute part of the offer but are purely for comparison purposes between the various types of vehicle. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. Note in accordance with the version of directive 1999/94/EC currently valid: further information on the official fuel consumption and official specific CO2 emissions of new passenger cars is given in a guide contain-ing data on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption for new passenger car models. It is available free of charge at every point of sale in the European Union or, for prospective buyers in Germany, at DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Strasse 1, 73760 Ostfildern, and under www.dat.de. Efficiency classes evaluate vehicles on the basis of CO2 emissions, taking into account the vehicle’s unladen weight. Vehicles corresponding with the average are given a D rating. A+, A, B or C ratings are given to vehicles which are better than the present-day average, and E, F or G to those below this average.

version of directive 1999/94/EC currently valid: further information on the official fuel consumption and official specific CO2 emissions of new passenger cars is given in a guide contain-ing data on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption for new passenger car models.

Note in accordance with the
