The Bowman Family

Michael and Jessica Bowman wanted to buy their own home after years of renting so they could have a place to call their own and raise their three young children.

They heard about Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) from Michael’s mother and aunties who had bought houses themselves, and were keen for Michael and Jessica to pursue their dream to have a home of their own.

With IBA’s assistance, the Bowmans are now purchasing their own home in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

Both Michael and Jessica say it is great being able to change something to the way they like it, without having to worry what the agent and the landlord think.

Jessica appreciates being able to put in a vegetable garden knowing that she will benefit from it and will not have to leave it behind.

The Bowmans decided to buy their own home to make an investment in their future. Paying money off a mortgage gives them a growing sense of security.

They take tremendous comfort from the knowledge that their children will always have a home.
