PREFACE

This book incorporates an expression of my deepest thoughts, impressions and interest that I imbibed from reading many books on various subjects. Therefore, it contains something useful, informative and interesting for everyone while going through the book. Many events have been incorporated with an entirely different view that may be capable of inspiring and igniting the thoughts of the young generation and others who are keenly interested in doing something extraordinary for themselves and society in the given environment where the moral and cultural values are fast eroding in the attempt to achieve more and more accumulation of wealth by

practicing lucre means. Anyone who wishes to go for digging silver, I am sure he will find gold. Whole life of a man is expression of own intelligence through simple, innocent,

natural and unbounded awareness. We are likely to suffer from mental agony if we fail to express ourselves. One needs not to surrender his right to speak truth.

The book starts with the adventure of two young village boys influenced by the patrioticenthusiasm during the freedom strugglemovement. They left their homes and made

tireless endeavours to organize the countrymenand women through cultural activities with a clearobjective to give impetus to the revolutionary and political activities during the course of independence struggle. I am sure thatindependent India and its people will alwaysremain indebted to the sacrifices of the great

revolutionaries and political leaders for theirrestless activities, unfathomable patriotism andunending enthusiasm to get India free from theshackle of British slavery. After more than sixty  years of independence the youth of independentIndia once again needs to take fresh stock of

the situation, circumstances and reasons which

caused vivisection of the united India and ensurethat these causes must never again be allowedto raise their vulgar heads. This is to simply remind that the day, 15.08.1947 while the nation was rejoicing in its first independence, a terrible wave of wholesale massacre and brutality spreadover the Punjab, Sind and Bengal. Unprecedented

violence was let loose. The tidings of humanscreaming that came from Punjab, Noakhali andCalcutta were grim and blood-curdling. Themassacre and butchery of men, women andchildren went on unabated.During nine monthsof partition only vultures prospered and freedomstunk! It was an inauspicious beginning of theexistence of two nations!

I believe that life is a continuous process of learning from the infinite universe to the infantbaby who is yet to start learning. The greatevents in Ramayan, Mahabharat, the teaching of divine Krishna, and teaching of Prophet havealways been considered as a perennial source of cultural unity. It provides an emotional binding of togetherness of the masses in India. Some socialevils have also been mentioned to keep the peopleaware of the consequences that our countrymenand women suffered from such prevailing ugly and unwarranted systems in practice since long

back. It is a matter of irony that in a country  where Maa Durga, Sita, Savitri were honoredand worshipped, women like Draupadi, Queenof Pandav, was forced and compelled to undressin the assembly of great personalities in theMahabharat.Women were sometime forced tocommit suicide in the name of the Sati Pratha,

dowry system and forced to adopt prostitution

in the name of Devdashi Pratha. It is a clearinsult to womanhood and this affront upsets thecosmic equilibrium of the Dharma. It is said if  women are insulted, a great disaster must beon the way. Soul, God, morality, and spirituality are essential emotional and imaginary thoughts inhuman social life. These have also been touched

with an aim to give more clarity about them.Theprevailing dogma, superstition and orthodoxy about soul and God have also been clarified. In fact a divine life on earth is the balancingof spiritual growth with a materialisticapproach.Vision coupled with action alone causestransformation which is not just a change; it islasting and happens from within. India needstransformed people with a vision of humanity.

Humble attempt has been made to bring aboutsome useful detail of infinite stretch of Universe,Nature, Human nature and Individual life andtheir intimate co-relation with each other andtheir individual Dharma.Life creates life throughthe marvel of innate Nature and there is noexception to it. Prayer has been made to MotherEarth that she blesses us with the knowledgerequired to enjoy the treasure of nature withoutdisturbing the environmental ecological balance. If humans fail to respect and love Nature and

destroy its serenity, then it will not pardon butdestroy them and their creation completely by the way of devastating cloudburst, landslides, earthquake, famine, tsunami andfloods.Population explosion of human inhabitationin hilly risky terrain and heavy commercialization

of its natural beauty is the open invitation to huge

disaster to human lives and property.I am of firm opinion that success, failure,

happiness, sorrow, compassion, and gain and lossare necessary temporary feelings. It needs to betreated with disinterested equanimity like atemporary guest or like a popular TV serial witha many frequent breaks to enjoy a complete

life. Ego, anger, envy, revenge are inevitable, uninvited evils flourish on retaliation. Pride isat the bottom of all such retaliation. These evilsneed to be considered as the challenges of lifeto be bravely but patiently encountered. The life without association of these necessary feelings andevils in this world is defunct like a destitutefaithful widow or food without salt. In fact abrave encounter with these evils provides a widerange of actual experiences to witness and enjoy more dynamic, peaceful and matured life likegold gets more purified after passing throughintense fire. Individual life is a book of experienceof many successful and unsuccessful series of events. Honestly speaking, without successfully overcoming them by defeating; nobody can dwellin a peaceful life. I am yet to meet a personfree from these feelings and evils. Even in thegreat Mahabharat epic, no character includingDivine Shri Krishna, Ram and Ravan of the great

epic Ramayan, is free from these feelings andevils. Bookish prescription for remedial action toovercome these feelings and evils ultimately fails. In the battle of Mahabharat to destroy a smallerevil, a bigger evil was employed to destroy it.Each evil doer or its association has been suitably punished during the course of battle or after

the battle. The Mahabharat is about good people

sometime acting badly, about how difficult it is tobe good in this world!

The bitterest experience of the religiouspropaganda is that fundamentalist forbids andrestricts any change in the code, conduct andbelief laid down by religious founder or leaderlong ago in the age of developing human

civilization. Unfortunately, even in this advancedmodern age of science and technology themajority of people are rigid and badly habituatedto follow religious myth and fail, rather sometimesafraid to accept truth!Religious practices developsuch rigidity and frenzy that die hardly. The truereligion should be catalyst for universal unity of human being otherwise if it divides the peoplethen each religion itself would be breaking intomore and more sects and groups. The religionsdo not provide any security but have divided thefaith of the human beings and grouped them indifferent fragments to such an extent that they have forgotten to recognize the very commonidentity of God, humanity and blow their owntrumpet. It wedges differences between humanbeings. Humanity is divided and fragmented dueto the false lure of religious fundamentals whichsimply pollute the innocent minds and conscience, and do not allow entrance into the great regime

of enlightenment of self, the soul and God, theultimate truth. It must be realized as early as possible that

Human life is the most precious gift of Natureand it is only for once and needs to be honestand sincere to self and selfless service to society.Individual Dharma, though subtle, is the very

essence of individual duty. Duty is the moral

obligation. It’s not the birthright but once acquiredby the virtue of circumstances, by the individualhardworking and net values of blessing of the lastbirths if any (fate or prarabhath ), Dharma is theprime motivator to wisely execute the objectiveof the individual duty in life. Dharma protectsmankind and mankind protects Dharma. Dharma

and mankind are complementary to each other. It may be a useful reminder for the honorableand responsible authorities of national importancethat Rashtra Dharma is the supreme, top meritedand most preferred objective of their life, whereashuman’s own sav Dharma is to discharge hisown duty with the sense of  niskam karma  withultimate honesty, faithfulness and dedication. Any action performed in a selfless spirit is alwayssuperior. Dharma and Honesty are the truecompanions ultimately instrumental for a peacefuland honorable life. These are the only ingredientsthat follow even after death for a new beginningof life. It has to be decided whether we want tolive with the legacy of the past or we want tolive with the pattern of new life style. And that’s what is most needed to make humanity healthier, more blissful and more loving. The simplest way to enter into a new pattern of life style is to ignoreand get out of the past and give up the lure of

all religion and then rest is taken care by thecommon human wisdom. The best way of simple living is “If you are

right, your world is right. Only positive mindsetsenses good things in life. Treat each day asthe most precious Present of Nature and do thebest with the sense of  niskam karma  for self

and society.Thoughts of past and future are

unnecessary burdens. Our inspirations arepossibilities. Life is like a straight line. Lust, angerand greed are three doors for self  destruction.Undoubtedly wealth in certainmeasure is required for comfortable living. We donot have to abandon wealth. What we need togive up is our greed and possessiveness for the

material objects.” Such an individual is ultimately honored. Myriad desires assail us. Desire for wealth, power and fame never seem to besatisfied, leading to discontent, frustration andinner turmoil. It is something amazing but factthat while alive we carry the imaginary loadsof innumerable lust of worldly illusions, greedof wealth, unnecessary burdens of the past, andthe tension of future and whatnot throughout lifebut on death nothing is allowed to go along! It can be overcome to some extent by trying tofree the mind from any carried forward burdeneffecting total awareness all through the acquiredknowledge. In the Ramayan epic, Ravana hadknowledge of sixty four Vidyas whereas Rama hadonly thirty two but Ravana had to be killed forhaving not used his vast knowledge for his ownand society’s welfare in large.

After independence India has done what fivethousand years of history could not do: it gave

natural justice to the people who are in majority a voice in running of the country. The Dalits, scheduled caste and tribe, and other backwardclasses got their share of representation in thecountry. For thousand of years the so calledupper-caste Hindu, Muslim and Christian had keptthem out of power. But towards the end of the

twentieth century, their time had come. For the

first time in the history the lower castes emergedinto the political process and had a say in whogets to rule them. In 1997, an untouchable, ShriK.R.Narayanan, became Honorabe President of India. High caste ministers scrambled to touch hisfeet and ask for his blessings. A bill has comeup in the parliament, whose passage is inevitable,

sooner or later: it will reserve one –third of seatsin the highest legislative body in the land of  women, an experiment unprecedented anywherein the world. They have equal opportunities totheir male counterpart and their performance andachievement is at par excellence in term of prestige, power and position. They are no morethe property of males. Now they are the owner of properties and educated enough to hold any highstatus profile in the society. They are no longer willing and interested to confine themselves inpurdah or ghughat or burqa. Thus the beginning of the changes has brought many complete turn overs in the mindset of the people and society at large!

In short, the book summarizes some scenarioof the events from the days of mutiny 1857to the present independent democratic India andits people with ultimate objective to integratecultural unity in diversity, religious harmony and

national character building for a peaceful co-existence. In the present era where might is rightto survive and rampant corruption in public lifedue to the lure of lucre and wealth, morality andinteractivity are now more important ingredientsof a good character. Except for historical, revolutionary and political legends and leaders,

the rest of the characters are fictitious and

left their home with the sole objective to give impetus to the revolutionary movement and unity of the people. Pandit Surendra, as usual, reached the housein the village of Zamidar Vikram Singh, for the

tuition of his young daughter Asha who wassomewhat disturbed and eagerly awaiting hisarrival. She took him immediately to her study room and conveyed the brief of the discussion, and instruction of the police inspector who had visited Zamidar Sahib in search of him. Hethanked her for the information and assured herthat he would come back as soon as the situationreturned to normal and immediately set out toan unknown place. The police were under theimpression that he, being a distance relative of therevolutionary Chandra Shekher Azad, might alsobe associated with the revolutionaries responsible

for the Kakori Rail Dacoity episode on 9 August,1925. The entire nearby area was surrounded by the British police force and they were searchingand hunting the revolutionaries and theirassociates including Ram Prasad Bismil, Asfakullah, Rajendra Lahiri and Sachin Buxi .TheBritish police were so cruel and inhuman that

their fear was felt by citizens who were normally

afraid to take part in revolutionary activities.TheBritish spy and agents were actively tracing thepresence of Pandit Surendra round the clock.

At late night, when Surendra did not returnhome, the widow mother became worried andmanaged to reach the Zamidar house. Ashaherself was eager to visit the Surendra home to

The mother knew her son very well.In the given situation and circumstances, themother realized, he would have not gone outof the village. The two ladies rode on a bicycleon the thorny kachcha road, braving against thesevere and chilly winds that caused the bicycle tomove slowly, in a zigzag manner.

The dim light of the kerosene oil lampsstanding on the sides of the road were unable topenetrate the deep darkness, but it was enoughto guide them on the path to their desireddestination. After a painful ride, Asha took a turnto reach the small temple of Lord Shiva nearthe bank of the river. The two boys, Surendra
