THAT’S HOW I SEE IT.

When that “sailor” publicly announced the project for a marina, I was

thrilled because to my mind immediately faced out all the implications

and developments that such a project contained. And this, despite the

fact that a Marina, next to my southwest gate, would upset my plans to

have a place to live in peace and away from civilization. Villa Centofiori,

luckly is facing NorthEast protected by the hill.

My wife and I, we have frequented many of the Marinas in the Mediterra-

nean sea, where occasionally we docked our Ketch to take a break.

I know the problems of those who go to sea and how Marinas are useful

providing valuable services to meet the needs of sailors and make their

stops pleasant and comfortable.

Even in premises located in close proximity to a city or a place that offers

services, inside the Marina area, we have always found at least essential

services: comfortable toilets, water supply and electricity directly at the

quay and restaurants, bars, telephones, WiFi , accessories stores and an ar-

ea for technical assistance to boats.

An Australian lady with whom I spoke, a few weeks ago, about Marinas,

she promptly added "laundry" to my list of services, ... "of course" I said

back. It helps to have purely feminine services as hairdressers, manicure

that a women after a long navigation will appreciate.

The project of this gentleman did not include any of these services at all,

but was firmly focused on the construction of floating docks for mooring

boats. Did not provide anything of welfare ground services for which a sail-

or are of great importance. The lack of preparation of the gentleman in

question was absolute and I can not excuse him because of no higher ed-

ucation as there is no need to have a degrees and a PhD to understand

the basic principles on which to move human actions.

In this cases, I have always used more common sense that the technical

and scientific education.







This gentleman, even before acquiring the necessary land to develop any

enterprise and giving birth to a project, has disclosed his "dream" on inter-

net to the four winds to create a marina in Indonesia where there are not

equal, made the authorities vigilant about his exploits and so demanding.

He paid the little land that has managed to buy well over the market price

and remained entangled in the coils of the bureaucracy to obtain permits

that after 3 years did not get yet for his dream that has not yet even start-

ed.

Incidentally, it should be said that the Japanese Pearls Company are dec-

ades that quietly and authoritatively occupying large marine areas in the

same area, for their pearl farms with the blessing of the Indonesian authori-

ties.

In response, he justified himself saying if I was proposing to do things illegal-

ly.

priate and much easier

if he had started his pro-

ject from the mainland

by acquiring land with-

out discovering his inten-

tions, create those ser-

vices useful to sailors

who for decades before

he found out, were oc-

cupying that same

space he wants to use

for the Marina. Create a

cozy restaurant, a bar and bungalows and any other amenity and service.

Albeit that, would not require special permits from the authorities. Once

successfully started such a business, it would be easy to attract investors

that facilitated the upgrade to add the floating, then movable, pontoons

and it would not be labeled as a MARINA and then only subject to the ap-







proval of use. Nothing that a good Indonesian lawyer would not have

been able to obtain.

In his mega dream, this gentleman has tried, after squandering money

right and left, to get my property or its availability with promises clearly un-

feasible and even with my participation in his undertaking... at least pre-

posterous.

I hope someone else, without arrogance but with clear ideas on how to do

"business" come forward to realize what he was unable even to program,

because creating services for these yachtsmen in Gili Gede is an idea de-

signed to secure success regardless if there are piers or only anchors for

mooring of yachts.
