    AN/PRC-148 MBITRMultiband Inter/Intra Team Radio

  • In a ruggedized package weighing less than two pounds, the combat-proven AN/PRC-148 MBITR replaced morethan 60 pounds of communications equipment with noloss in operational capability. The AN/PRC-148 MBITRhas provided unprecedented interoperability with existingmilitaryandcommerciallegacyradiosystemsforyearsand, withsoftwareupgradeability, ensuresfutureoperationwiththenextgenerationof communicationsequipment.Sevenprogrammable devices, supported by flash memory, areincorporated into the AN/PRC-148 MBITR architecture, creating a truly software-based, handheld radio. Thesmallest, lightest, and most-widely fielded tacticalhandheldradiocoveringthe30-512MHzfrequencyrange,the AN/PRC-148 MBITR has been used extensively inOperationEnduringFreedomandOperationIraqiFreedom.JTRS configuration of the AN/PRC-148 also available AN/PRC-148 JEM.
