Ultimate Building Machine® (UBM®) Controller with Power Distribution Box Installation Instructions

(FOR MODELS UBM-120™ AND UBM-240™)

INSTALLING THE NEw UBM CONTROLLER

1. Label the cables currently attached to the back of your controller as illustrated in Figure 1 - Labeling the Cables. Then disconnect all cables and place them out of the working area. These cables will be reinstalled into the new controller.

2. Remove the old controller us-ing a 9/16” wrench. Remove the four (4) nuts and washers from under the deck that secures the controller (two of the bolts are located inside the rear trunk).

3. Remove the controller from the deck and place it on the ground behind the UBM.

4. Using the hole plugs provided, cap the holes used to secure the old controller. In order to install the new controller, new holes must be drilled into the deck.

5. Refer to Figure 2 to measure, locate and mark the locations of the four (4) 13/32” holes that mount the controller box to the trailer deck and measure, locate and mark the locations of the two (2) ½” drain holes to be drilled. Once the location of the new holes have been marked, double check your measurements and verify the four studs on the new controller and the two drain holes align properly. Complete this step by positioning and aligning the new controller on the marked deck or by measuring the stud and drain holes on the bottom of the new controller .

Before starting the installation of the new controller, disconnect and remove both batteries from the battery compartment and set aside one battery to be reinstalled. If a Battery Separator was installed in the battery compartment disconnect and remove it from thebattery compartment. It will no longer be needed.

6. Using a 13/32” drill bit, drill the new marked locations for the four (4) mounting studs.

7. Using a ½” drill bit, drill the new marked locations for the drain tubes on the bottom of the new controller.

8. Clean off all the drill shavings from the top of the trailer deck.

9. Position the new controller on the deck and in the new mounting holes. Secure the controller using the hardware provided in the Controller Hardware Kit. (Refer to Figure 2 for location of controller).

10. Remove the old controller cable going from the controller to the power distribution box. Route the new UBM Controller Cable to the Power Distribution Box in the same manner as old controller.

11. Using the cables that you labeled in step one, reinstall the cables into the back of the new controller. Start with cable 9, then cable 8 and continue working in a descending order ending with cable 1.
