One of the most sought after house music DJs in the Los Angeles area is Terence Toy.

From private celebrity events to the major dance venues of the world, he’s been there. A native Califor-nian, Terence is a legend in Los Angeles and has been well known as one of the hardest working figures in the city’s scene for many years. From an early age he was fascinated with music. At the age of eight he purchased his very first ‘45 single’ Earth Wind and Fire’s “Open Your Eyes.” This purchase led to his lifelong appreciation of music, sound, and the art of recording music. Since that early discovery, and with many learned experiences, Toy has become a seasoned and well-traveled musician. From stints in Japan, Canada, as well as crowding the dance floors of major cities here in the U.S. he has played to thou-sands, an has influenced many who have become DJs.

TOY is also known for his legendary, long time residency at the LA afterhours nightclub, Does Your Mama Know. Over the years there were count-less other gigs and venues that have helped him build a solid and devoted fan base. He was a resident of Paradise 24 at Circus long before Giant and Spundae did their thing there, Release (in San Francisco), his own party Afro-Ma Therapy, 24K, regular appearances at Marques Wy-att’s DEEP and guest slots on KPRW’S Powertools radiO pro-gram all have helped him reach thousands. He also spread his musical influence over the city even more by hosting his own radio show,The Underground Beat on 92.3FM.

Relentless in his mission to bring his music to a mass audience worldwide, he created House Vibes, a company that stocked customized mix tapes and CDs in specialty stores through-out the nation and even in other countries.This helped the House Vibes DJs reach many more people at a time when under-ground music and mixes were very hard to get. He not only pro-moted himself but played a vital role in promoting the mixes of major DJs such as Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Jojo Flores, Victor Simonelli, Cut Chemist and many more.

Terence Toy is not an imagined persona using a stage name. He uses his real name and he is more than just a DJ. While he remains committed and active in all aspects of the music industry, he is a Professional Garden Master for the L.A. Community Garden organization, and a devoted father to his 12 year old son Noah. He is currently advancing his skills to include designing Custom “Eating Gardens” and growing ex-clusive heirloom vegetables for some of L.A.’s finer restaurants.

In the future Terence plans to release his own quality music and promote The Underground Beat radio show on the internet worldwide – increasing his presence not only in the house music scene, but beyond into other industries.

Coming soon he will reinvent his signature project Toy Box as a unique, traveling audio/visual performance that will demonstrate his determination, creativity and unique take on music and the arts.
