This kitchen sink would not be complete without a tap. Both products are strongly related as they must work hard and together. Two newmodels have been designed to fit the frame concept, as we consider products not as sinks and taps, but as cleaning centers.

The custom-made rinsing basket is really a functional acces-sory as you can use the bowl and the colander at the sametime.

The drain grating follows the design of the kitchen sink and itis extra big. The extra squared size makes it easy to gatherand throw away the peel of potatoes or fruit.

The elegant glossy white glass table can be used as a cuttingtable or as serving tray. The feet lift it up from the sink drainersurface and give a good grip.

For the friends of zero-radius philosophy, Teka offers the next step. The radical design, based on thewell-known Linea series, gets in the Radea sinks a perfect balance between outstanding design andpracticality and user friendliness in the kitchen.

The appearance of the sink maintains a clean-lined aesthetic, following today's kitchen andappliance design, but the construction of the basins is slightly different than what it is expected. Thesink walls are completely flat, always forming right angles, but the intersections between them aremade with a constant 10 mm radius, both in the lateral wall unions and in the unions between thewalls and the base. Another differentiating aspect of the Radea series is its extra shiny finish, whichhighlights the sink's aesthetics by reflecting light details created by the constant 10 mm radius offopposing walls.

Cuadro: Four sides

The layout has been designed in a usefuland practical manner. The main bowl isespecially deep and situated in the centre,while enlarged complementary bowl islocated on the side. A clear advantage. Thesink is reversible so you can freely install itwith the main bowl on the left or on theright.

The design of this series has an addedextra function of a basket for washing anddrying fruits and vegetables. Theadvantage: dirt and water drain directlyfrom the complimentary bowl and not – asusual – to the main bowl of the sink.

The chopping board, made out of glass, isdesigned to slide on a rail in order to coverthe main bowl, thereby enlarging theworking area of the sink.The entire time, safety has been taken intoconsideration. The chopping board ismade out of safety glass and is resistant tohigh temperatures.

Individual carton boxTeka sinks are usually presented in individual carton boxes. All boxes are stamped withthe Teka logo and a sticker showing the name ofthe product and the code number. Inside the box,the sink and the accessories such as waste, fixingclips and sealing strip for its installation are in-cluded.This packaging system is highly recomended forthe individual sale.

Five units carton boxCarton box packs include five sinks and their ac-cessories, waste, fixing clips and sealing strip. Thispackaging system is specially designed when sellingbig quantities and the accessories are included inthe packaging.

Carboard protecctionIt is a comfortable and secure way of packing thesinks for its sale in big stores. The accessories aresold separately. Although the sink is not inside acarton box, the protection around the sink perime-ter is good enough.

Five pieces bundleSpecially thought for sinks that have to be deliveredfar away and when saving space is a must, this wayof packaging makes the loading of goods morecompetitive. Sink configuration

Even though the bowl (number, size, depth, shape) is the main feature ofthe sink, it is not the only thing to bear in mind. You have other options thatcan make your sink more user-friendly and provide you with a nicer workingarea.

Drainers extend your working area and allow easy clean-up as well asfood preparation. They will also keep the work surface clean and dry.

Teka colander bowls are available in either half or quarter bowl sizes.They can be used for rinsing, draining, straining and clean-up. Whateveryour sink space, a colander bowl will give you another functioning utensil.

Relationship between sink size and capacity

Bowl depth, taper and radius are the three basic measurements forcomparing sink sizes. Depth, of course, is the distance from the top ofthe rim to the bottom of the sink at the point nearest the drain.

Bowl taper is the inward slope of each side of the sink from the rim tothe bottom. Radius is the measure of the bowl’s corners and bottomwhere the sides and bottom meet.

One point to remember: The deeper the bowl, the straighter the slope,the smaller the radius, the bigger the capacity.

Accessories

Teka’s optional accessories let you make the most of your sink, as theyhave been especially designed for each individual model. Crockerybaskets, plate racks, colander bowls, chopping boards, waste disposalunits etc. will quickly become an indispensable part of your kitchenroutine.

The right care of your accessories will extend their useful lives. Tekacolanders, drain trays and vinyl-covered rinsing baskets should be handwashed, rinsed thoroughly and hand dried. Wooden chopping boardsshould never be soaked in water – rinse after each use and drythoroughly.

Pop-up basket waste

Teka top sinks are known around the world for their variety ofaccessories. Pleasing to look at and, more important still, enhancing sinkfunctionality for the user. One such feature is the pop-up basket waste, apractical accessory which can be opened and closed to fill and empty thebowl without direct contact with its contents (hot water, detergent,...).

Stainless steel basket waste

Most of our sinks incorporate 31/2 basket wastes.

The basket traps the food particles left from washing up, or from cleaningvegetables or fruits, so they do not enter the sewage system. It can alsobe easily removed for cleaning. Teka has not neglected the appearanceof this accessory, incorporating unique design features like threestamped logos.

Under-protection for stainless steel models

There are several systems available but the most common are sound-absorbing pads and undercoating. The main advantages of this specialfeature are that it absorbs sound, protects against condensation build-upinside kitchen furniture and helps to maintain sink water temperature.Most Teka sinks offer sound-absorbing pads as standard.

Kitchen sinks were traditionally of the ‘drop-in’ type, thatis, with the rim of the sink sitting on the work surface.Teka drop-in sinks can be mounted on virtually anyworktop using Teka clip-and-bolt fasteners, which adjustto the thickness of the surface for a tight, non-slip fit. Thesink is fastened to the worktop from underneath, so noscrews or bolts show.

The drop-in design has a small rim to stop water spilling onto the work surface.Some drop-in sinks can also be undermounted using special undermount clips.

With solid counter tops of marble and granite or moderncomposite materials, undermounting the sink hasbecome a popular option. The Teka undermount sink ismounted and caulked from underneath using the specialclips provided. Undermounting gives the sink andsurrounding area a much sleeker appearance. It preventsdirt from getting trapped around or below the rim and it

is absolutely waterproof when installed correctly.

Probably the most perfect installation system, providinga totally seamless working area which is alsoaesthetically pleasing. The sink and work surfacesbecome one solid unit, free of awkward edges andcorners. Some undermounted models can also be installed thisway.

Like fine silver, its beautiful finish gains with age and use.But this does not mean we can neglect the care of this essential kitchen item.As a rule, stainless steel’s best friend is cold, clean water or a mild detergentsolution, applied with a soft sponge, rinsed well and wiped dry.Here are some of the products or elements that can damage your sink:

ChloridesChlorides are found in almost all soaps, detergents and cleaning products andcan be damaging to stainless steel. They are water soluble, however, so if yourinse away residues after each use, a weekly scouring is all that is needed to keepyour sink looking bright and shiny.

ScratchesLike most metallic surfaces, your stainless steel sink will scratch. Don’t worry,these are simply usage marks which will eventually blend into the overall finish ofthe sink.

KnivesYour sink is designed to serve as many things but not as a chopping board. Thistype of use will cause deep scratches in its surface, and will also blunt yourknives. For an additional work area, choose from our wide range of choppingboards.

Water QualityThe quality of your water can affect the appearance of your sink. When waterhas a high iron content, a brown surface stain can form on the sink giving theappearance of rust. Also, in areas with a high concentration of minerals or over-softened water, a white film may develop on the sink. To combat theseproblems, we suggest you wipe the sink dry after each use and give it a morethorough clean each week using a recommended abrasive product.

FoodsFoods containing high levels of salt should not be allowed to dry on the sinksurface. Rinse your sink thoroughly after use.

Basico 2B 1D model features the same characteristics than the Universo 2B 1D.

The reversibility.It refers to the possibility of beinginstalled in either right or left versions, asthe sink is totally symmetric. Thepresence of tap holes or pop-up systemindicates the lack of reversibility.

The thickness.It’s related to the characteristics of theraw materials. It usually varies from 1mm to 0.6 mm depending on the qualityof the sink and the depth of the bowls.The measurement can also vary from thedrainer to the bowls due to themanufacturing process.

The finish.There are several stainless steel finishesavailable, according to the customers’needs. The mechanical characteristics ofthe materials remain the same, but theaesthetic differs in the polishing; glossy,matt or textured finishes are available.

The overflow.Teka, as a global supplier, produces sinksfor markets where the overflow isunnecessary; therefore there are codeswith and without this security system toavoid home flooding.

The pop-up.This practical system takes care ofdrainage from a button on the drainersurface, allowing users to empty the bowlwithout the unpleasant contact with hotwater, detergent or small food residues.The pop-up also makes it easy to closethe drain or fill the bowl with water.

The packaging.Being practical and protective, thepackaging is also essential as a price keyfactor when delivering goods from thefactories. The possibility of sendingbundles or pallets reduces the overallprice when individual packaging is not aselling issue.

The waste.Standard wastes in 3 1/2 or 1 1/2 or thepractical 3 1/2 basket waste traps thefood particles left from washing up orcleaning vegetable or fruits so that theydo not access the sewage system.

The fittings.Teka sinks provide all the fitting elementsneeded to install the sink. It's alsopossible to order less complete sinks assome plumbers and installers have theirown suppliers for such elements.

Lay On

Teka lay-on sinks come in a wide range of measurements, so youcan find the best fit for your cabinet size. Select between differentconfigurations of drainers, bowls, reversible or back-standmodels, overflows, tap holes, wooden frames, etc. The optionsare as varied as your needs.Lay-on sinks can be delivered with wood supports at the sides(below the rim) which aid installation while providing structuralreinforcement.

Inset (Drop In)

Kitchen sinks were traditionally of the ‘drop-in’ type, that is, withthe rim of the sink sitting on the work surface. Teka drop-in sinkscan be mounted on virtually any worktop using Teka clip-and-boltfasteners, which adjust to the thickness of the surface for a tight,non-slip fit. The sink is fastened to the worktop from underneath,so no screws or bolts show.The drop-in design has a small rim to stop water spilling onto thework surface.Some drop-in sinks can also be undermounted using specialundermount clips.

Integrated (Flush)

Probably the most perfect installation system, providing a totallyseamless working area which is also aesthetically pleasing. Thesink and work surfaces become one solid unit, free of awkwardedges and corners. Some undermounted models can also be installed this way.

Undermounted

With solid counter tops of marble and granite or moderncomposite materials, undermounting the sink has become apopular option. The Teka undermount sink is mounted andcaulked from underneath using the special clips provided.Undermounting gives the sink and surrounding area a muchsleeker appearance. It prevents dirt from getting trapped aroundor below the rim and it is absolutely waterproof when installedcorrectly.Teka sinks come with cutting templates and easy-to-follow fittinginstructions.

The main advantage of the working unit concept is the multiple possibilities of personalization that transform every an each of them in an individual project.Every working unit features the same inner body (585 mm. wide) manufactured from high quality wood and covered in the same high-quality stainless steelused in Teka sinks.The materials used are the only general features for this line, as nearly everything about its construction can be 100 percent customized. Best-sellingdesigns include the following products.

Regarding the length, the range goes from1000 to 3700 mm, offering a finished productevery 100 mm to fit perfectly in your kitchen.Due to the popularization of taller kitchenunits, the working units are also adaptable asit’s possible to select the height from 700 to900 mm with 100 mm difference.

The unit’s lateral table, used as a leg, is made of wood and can be fully orpartially covered in stainless steel. Select the width of the leg from 20 to 80mm depending on the unit's placement in the kitchen area.

Standard working units can be corner installed, making it easier to decidehow to distribute space in small kitchens.

Finally, once you have complete the customization of the unit, you canuse it as a working countertop or you can integrate and install kitchenappliances, washing units, include more units, install electrical outlets,recover columns, etc.

The front view of the stainless steel countertop can be alsomanufactured with a 20 mm radius bevel to avoid sharp edges in thekitchen.

The backstand can be squared or rounded (20 mm radius). You can alsochoose if it will be welded or folded, depending on its final use in thekitchen.

General features of Teka working units

The unit’s regular width is 600 mm,although it can be extended 100 mm toreach the 700 mm a measurementwidely used for island concepts. Thestainless steel backstand can befolded up or down depending on thedesired use of the working unit.

You can also combine the use of two noble natural materials, stainlesssteel and the wood. By installing wood at the front of the units you get adistinctive look while giving more protection against scratches. Theinstallation process is easy and the result combines a professional lookwith the warmth of the wooden.Select the wood from the available possibilities shown below.

These compact units encompass three sections (cooking, cleaning and working areas) which can be customized. Regarding hobs can be two or 4 cooking areas in both electrical and gas versions. The configuration of the sink area depends onthe combination of the bowls and drainer. Another advantage is that all models are reversible.

The compact units are manufactured following the highest Teka quality standards. When fitted in a kitchenette, the rest of Tekaappliances can easily be placed to create a small Teka concept.

Granite sinks have the hardness, resistance and appearance of natural stone, combined with the flexibility and smoothnessof modern granite. They are made from natural granite and small glass particles (80%) mixed with toughened resins (15%)and pigments (5%) to form a smooth but rock hard material. Teka hard compositemodels

Tekadur and Tekuarz sinks are made from hard compositematerial.

This sink material matches perfectly well with work sur-faces, taps, accessories and appliances in general. Thesematerials bring other key advantages like a feeling ofwarmth and texture whilst providing an astonishing level ofdurability.

The Composite is a thermostatic material, with the addi-tion of minerals, thermoplastic additives, catalysts andpigments, and it is reinforced with chopped fibreglasswhich provides cohesion to the composite and extraordi-nary resistance and elasticity against impact and me-chanical stresses. The transformation is made in a warmmould (130 – 160 °C) under high pressure (120 BAR).This process is not reversible. After the material has beenpolymerised, it can not be melted down by high tempera-tures.

Within Tekadur and Tekuarz range, Teka offers two differentoptions: traditional composite sinks with plain colours, suchas: white, brown or terre de france, and on the other hand,granite composite sinks with finishes like granite white,sand beige, anthracite or stone grey.

Composite is hygienic, easy-to-clean and resistantagainst:

» Thermal shock: due to its elasticity, the composite getsover 10.000 cycles of cold (12°C) and warm (90°C) waterwithout any problem, while standard acrylic sinks onlyreach 1.000 cycles.

» Impact: the composite stands the fall of a 500 gr. weightfrom a 140 cm height

» Stains: Tekadur and Tekuarz sinks are resistant againstfood components such as sodium hydroxide, acetic acid,ethanol or sodium chloride.

» Heat: temperature resistant up to 400°C.

» Erosion, hardness and scratch: fulfilling the EuropeanNorm “En: 13310”.
