The interactive quiz night was hosted byyour wonderful membership & marketingmanager - Sadie. It was my �rst time doingsuch a rambunctious quiz and we were o�to a �ying start with some fantastic Thaicurry, homemade by Jamie & Mark. Questionsranged from Food & Drink, In the News, Goodold Family Fortunes to Guess the Song and Trick Questions. It wouldn’t be and interactive quiz without the childish behavior, this time teams were asked to guess the �avor of a variety of fruit juices and make Easter creations from play dough.

The Interactive Quizis held bimonthlyand is always greatfun, so if you’ve notheard of it or beenyou need to rally thetroops and get ateam together, because it’s so muchfun and there are oodles of prizes ono�er as well, frombottles of wine to cold hard cash andeven booby prizes!

We’ll supply yourdinner, and a greatquiz, some fun andprizes all for just £10!

Vehicle Dynamics are in the process of installing their new MOT testing station.There are many people having their cars fail on NON TESTABLE items like a rear wiper blade (among others). The confusion has come in where garages and testers alike think that the MOT test is a "safety check". IT IS NOT A SAFETY CHECK, all the MOT test is for is to make sure your car meets the minimum legal requirement to be on the roads in the UK and theEU. There are more items being added to the test all the time in order for the UK test to meet EU legislation. Some items being reviewed are on the border line as if they are found to be faulty in older cars, the repair bills could be more than the car is worthin some cases.

County Golf Union fees are going up across the country, now it’s nothing to get too upset about as they have only risen for men by £1 and for women 75p, but still where does all the money go?! The County Golf Union is a little bit like your local council, only cheaper I bet. They provide some fantastic opportunities for young golfers like supporting clubs in bringing in programmes and �xtures,

in fact David and Liz Macgregor have just produced a great new Juniorprogramme and booklet for West Chilt!Now for the rest of us the county put oncompetitions such as the ExclusivePlate which the West Chilt men’s teamwon last year, and not forgetting the win scooped by Div 3 of the Ladies! So your £13 per year (men) and your £16.75 per year (women) is going to very good use in helping secure the future of the sport we all know and love.

Don’t get stung on your MOT!

We aim to conduct the MOT tests as per VOSA's guidelines. If we do �nd a NON TESTABLE item that we know to be inadequate we will inform the clients on a SEPARATE advisory list. The reason for this is that there are items being advised on the MOT certi�cate that are NOT TESTABLE, these items in turn are visible from the police cameras and software now so they can call up your last MOT test and see if your car has in fact got a current MOT test and what the advisories were. If the advisories are deemed to a�ect the cars road worthiness they have a legal right to pull you over and check if they have been done.There are a lot of MOT guidelines that are not explained to the clients, we on the other hand are going to do our best to educate the public on what the MOT test actually is and how it a�ects you on testable items and non testable items.

This year sta� at the club are working hard to make sure we give you, ourmembers more. David, helped byLiz MacGregor has already swung intoaction this year with his new JuniorProgramme. He has bought out agreat new brochure to encourage theyounger generation to join in, learn and improve their golf. The project is to provide Juniors with a variety ofcompetitions to cover the entire season. Selected competitions go towards the Brian Barnes Trophy, (thejunior order of merit winner).

Sadie has been harassing local companies left, right and centre tosecure great discounts, which are exclusively for our members, these are already up and running on our websiteso if you’ve not had a look, go online and click on the “Friends with Bene�ts” button on the right hand sideof the home page. Sadie is also working on a prize draw,which will happen every month (from April). All you have to do is display the West Chilt GC car sticker in theback of your car and every month you could win your-self anything from dinner for 2, bottles of wine or coldhard cash! - These car stickers are free to members butwill be £2 to non-members.

Things are not stopping there. Martin is working on bringing you even more reciprocal golf this year, as wellas the ability to be able to pay for non-member roundsand tickets online to make life that much easier!

Debs is cracking on with a special member only drawthis year, which is just about to be launched. This newdraw o�ers 1 Membership of any category to onelucky winner once a year from now on! Simply buy your ticket at the pro-Shop for just £10 and once a yearwe’ll do the draw. If your name comes out, you will haveyour pick of free membership for the following year onthe date of your renewal!

You read correctly, The Mastersis in fact coming to West Chilt, well... as far as the bar anyway! We will be showing all roundsof The Masters as well as the Par 3 Contest which starts onWednesday April 10th at 8pm.On Saturday 13th April we willbe up late watching the 3rd round from 8:30pm and Sunday 14th April from 7pm.

To make sure nobody goes hungry,the kitchen will be making us a“Master” of a hot dog! - with gourmetsausages in a baguette with hot caramalised onions and relish with any pint for just £8. Nachos with melted cheddar cheese and triple cooked chips will also be available to accompany The Masters with you all night long!
