Purpose of Today
Technology Transformation: Microsoft Mini-Series
This is an intermediary course for the use of Excel 2013 that will guide
you through using Excel 2013 advanced formulas and features and
increase your understanding of the follow items:
• Formulas to manipulate data
• Using Pivot Tables to organize data
• Using Data Slicers to easily filter data
• Using Charts to visually represent data

By the end of this presentation, you should be able to:
• Describe how to insert a pivot table
• Describe difference between summing, averaging and counting in a pivot table
• Identify how to use Data Slicers
• Describe how to insert charts
• List ways to utilize formulas within Microsoft Excel
• Identify the Help options in Office 2013
• Identify top reasons it is important for hospital leaders to efficiently use these programs
in the healthcare environment
• Identify other audiences that need to know this information and need to collaborate in
this area
• Identify action items to take in response to this training
