TEAM LEADER: CLAIMS Santam’s Adjustment Services department has a position available for a Team Leader (Claims Handling) who will be based in the Bedfordview office. JOB DESCRIPTION The successful candidate will provide client satisfaction through the monitoring of targets, deadlines and compliance to Service Level Agreements, as well as managing people and cost. Duties will include ensuring that the various targets of the team are achieved. The incumbent will also be responsible for resolving client enquiries of a sensitive nature (complaints) and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports. Handling of performance related issues and disciplinary matters and monitoring performance. Detailed duties and responsibilities include: Managing the team of Claims Handlers Managing and reporting on the unit’s performance Communicating and interacting effectively with people at all levels Ensuring compliance to contracted service levels and optimization of processes Ensuring client satisfaction improvement using CSI results Ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements Responsible for staff morale Managing of external and internal relationships Establishing and maintaining quality standards that drive client delight and cost efficiency Delivering first time right service excellence Monitoring process compliance Continually reviewing and measuring team activities against targets, standards and service levels. Leading and motivating staff Managing, supporting and developing a team of people to ensure service delivery Establishing and maintaining quality standards in respect of accurate claims management Delivering results and meeting customer expectations QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Grade 12 Insurance-related qualification Completion of SMP & SMK Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point) 6 – 10 years’ experience in claims environment Experience in developing and coaching staff SKILLS Strong client service orientation Ability to work under pressure Good Communication skills (verbal & written) Leadership skills KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of claims processes Working knowledge of Santam Systems (Persetel and JDE) Personal and Commercial Lines experience/knowledge Qualified applicants can submit their cover letter, CV and salary requirements in MS Word format to Thabisile Nkosi, Human Resources ([email protected]).
