Chewing Gum toy figures
The new collectable item
The Problem
• Thinking about the “life-cycle” of a chewing gum …
• How does it change over time?• New In use Used (waste)• Solid Soft Solid• How could there be value added to the
existence of a chewing gum?
The Idea
• Do something with the chewing gum after its normal end-of-life
• Ideally this should– Add additional benefits– Remove some of the existing negatives
Provide the means to build your own toy figures from chewing after its normal use.
How it could work:
• People would collect their used chewing gums• Once collected a sufficient amount (and kept in
an airtight container preventing drying up of the gum) the gum is pressed into special moulds.
• Once dry the figure is removed from the mould and painted with non toxic and anti-bacterial paint.
• Once dried the figures can be played with …
The details
• People could buy sets consisting of:• Airtight storage container• set of moulds and color• Brushes and instructions
• The moulds would be made from material preventing sticking of the figures inside the mould.
• The paint would be killing off germs and “child proof” (non-toxic and non water-resolvent after drying)
• Teaming up with Organizations remarketing “personas” known from TV and movie (Star Wars, Simpsons, Mickey Mouse, …)
Why ?
• Adding to the “life-span” of a chewing gum• Reduction of waste• Business Oportunity for the makers of the
“Gum to Toy” sets• The “odd new present” that hasn’t been
around yet …
