"I studied a Diploma of Nursing... TasTAFE teaching staff were very supportive. I am now employed as a nurse in an aged care facility. I love my job, to be able to reach out and care for people at work has brought me great satisfaction." – Lili, Diploma of Nursing graduate (pictured above during her studies)

Why Tasmania?

1. Quality of livingTasmania offers a chance to be part of a thriving community with a lively cultural, food and arts scene, markets and music festivals. Breathe the world’s cleanest air and enjoy living in an incredibly beautiful natural environment.

2. OpportunityTasmania has the fastest growing economy of all Australian states, and our key industries of Tourism, Healthcare, IT and Engineering are growing rapidly. There are many exciting employment opportunities available for students who choose to work during or after their studies in Tasmania.

3. AffordabilityThe cost of living in Tasmania’s cities is significantly lower than that of many other cities in Australia. Students are able to live centrally in Hobart or Launceston and enjoy the great lifestyle while maintaining some of the lowest average weekly costs in Australia.

4. Safe and welcomingTasmania has the lowest crime rates in Australia and is renowned for its friendly and approachable people. Tourism is one of Tasmania’s most important industries, so Tasmanians are understanding of cultural differences and are very helpful to newcomers.

5. English learning environmentLess than 1% of students at TasTAFE are international students, which means that you will interact with our friendly locals more. This gives you the opportunity to develop your English language skills faster while enjoying an authentic Australian experience.
