Der Baben­berger Bindenschild wird seit 1744 auf ­ getragen und steht für die einzigartige Qualität Wiener Porzellans. Mit jedem Objekt der Wiener Manufaktur wird ein Unikat erworben.Die Formen und Dekore werden seit Be­ stehen der Manufaktur in Kooperation mit namhaften Künstlerinnen und Künstlern kreiert. Seit 1923 befinden sich Produktion und Verwaltung im ehemaligen Jagdschloss „La Favorita“, das 1654 von Leopold I. errichtet wurde.

Founded in 1718, the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory Augarten is one of the oldest in Europe. Today, as in the past, every piece is handcrafted and hand painted. The Babenberger Crest has been applied since 1744 and stands for the unique quality of Vienna porcelain, which is nothing less than an Austrian institution. From the beginning, the designs of the Porcelain Manufactory Augarten have been created in cooperation with well­known artists. Since 1923 the production and administration has had its seat at the former hunting castle “La Favorita”, built by Leopold I. in 1654.

After years of development, the designer Gottfried Palatin has created a new service form

for the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory Augarten. The design, number 40, combines Palatin’s

matter-of-fact sense of form with the diversity of a modern table service.

Der Designer Gottfried Palatin hat nach mehrjähriger Entwicklungsphase eine neue Service-

form für die Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten entworfen. Die Form mit der Nummer 40

vereint Palatins sachliche Formensprache mit der Vielfalt eines modernen Tafelservices.

Die Einzelteile bestechen durch ihre aus­gewogene Haptik: Die Griffe der Tassen und Kanne liegen elegant in der Hand.Die Stücke sind so konzipiert, dass sie ineinander geschoben und effektvoll gestapelt werden können. So verbinden sich zum Beispiel Eierbecher und Menage nicht nur zu einer optischen, sondern auch zu einer logischen Einheit.Die tropffreie Kanne kann sowohl für Tee, als auch Kaffee verwendet werden.Das Service kommt den Anforderungen

der internationalen Küche nach: Asia­tische Sushi­Platten, spanische Tapas­schälchen und große Teller für das Wiener Schnitzel. Das Service ist für Geschirrspüler entwickelt. Die vom Designer konzipierten Initialen werden mit Hochtemperaturfarben aufgetragen.Die Serviceteile sind sowohl weiß er­ hältlich, können aber mit persönlichen (handbemalten) Initialen versehen werden. Angeboten werden diese in dunklem Rot, Türkis und hellem Blau.

The individual components impress with their balanced feel: the handles on the cups and pots mold themselves elegantly into one’s hand. The pieces are conceived to fit inside one another and can be efficiently stacked. In this way, the eggcup and ménage for example combine into an optical as well as a logical unit.The drop­free pot can be used for both tea and coffee and the set, in its entirety,

meets the demands of international cui­sine: Asian sushi platters, Spanish tapas bowls, and large plates for the Vienna Schnitzel. This set is dishwasher­safe and the initials, conceived by the designer, are applied using high temperature resistant colours. The set pieces are available in plain white, and can be personalized with hand painted initials, which are offered in dark red, turquoise and light blue.

Der österreichische Designer Gottfried Palatin ist Gestalter von klar reduzierten, haptischen Formen. Er beschäftigt sich seit über 20 Jahren vorwiegend mit den Material­ schwerpunkten Glas und Porzellan im Naheverhältnis zur Kunst. Seine Designs wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet und inter­national auf Ausstellungen u.a. in London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong und Tokyo präsentiert. Seit Jahren arbeitet er mit etablierten Herstellern zusammen: Lobmeyr, Grundmann, Theresienthal und vielen mehr.

Die Formensprache Gottfried Palatins kreiert ausgereift reduzierte Objekte, welche durch ihr Gleichgewicht von klarer Linienführung und runden Spannungen ihre ausgewogene Ausstrahlung erhalten. Die bestehende Pala­tin­Kollektion mit Vasen, Schale und Dose, sowie der Ascher Havanna sind die perfekte Umsetzung dieser Formensprache.

Gottfried Palatin über die Kooperation mit Augarten: „Für eine traditionsreiche Manu­faktur, wie die Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten, neue, innovative Produkte zu ent­wickeln, ist für mich als Designer eine ganz spezielle Herausforderung: Diese Produkte berücksichtigen die besondere Firmentradi­ tion der Manufaktur und gehen zugleich auf die zeitgemäße Lebenskultur ein.“

Gottfried Palatin is known for his clear haptic shapes. For over 20 years now, he has been pre dominantly working with the mediums of glass and porcelain in relation to art. His award­winning designs have been shown at international galleries in­ cluding London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo. For many years, he has also been working with established manu­ facturers such as Lobmeyr, Grundmann, Theresienthal and many more.

Palatin’s use of forms creates mature and reduced objects whose balance of clear lines and curved tension radiate elegance. The existing Palatin collection with vases, a bowl, tins as well as the ashtray Havan­na, are the perfect execution of this form language.
