I’ve got a story to tell you, 

it’s really remarkably true! 

 

 

It’s a story of my friend, Sylvea, 

a person quite real that I knew.

Sylvea Jane liked to walk in the rain, 

and to mind her P’s and Q’s. 

 

 

She was loads of fun,  

but stuck to her guns, 

when asked to share her views. 

 

 

 

She could laugh and joke 

and puddle jump, 

she could holler  

and wiggle and whine. 

 

 

But ask her a question, 

or riddle her quick, 

and she would shout – 

‘OUT OF LINE!’ 

 

 

 

 

For Sylvea Jane doesn’t share, 

my friends, 

she minds her P’s and Q’s. 

 

You can ask her, ‘How are you, 

how do you do?’, 

and never receive the news! 

 

 

 

 

Once Sylvea Jane found a treasure, 

quite a sight to behold! 

 

 

And when asked, ‘What’s that 

you’re peeking at?’, 

she clammed up straight away 

I am told! 

 

 

 

For Sylvea Jane doesn’t share, 

my friends, 

she minds her P’s and Q’s. 

 

 

You can ask her and ask her, 

what, when, where or why, 

‘til your face turns a few shades 

Of BLUE! 

 

 

 

Now this may annoy you, 

or make you all mad, 

but to this I am telling you straight! 

 

 

Give her a secret, 

right from the heart, 

and she’ll never tell for it’s fate! 

 

 

 

Once Sylvea Jane heard a rumor, 

a gossip, a whisper that grew. 

 

 

When quizzed on the spot, 

she couldn’t be bought, 

and buttoned her lip 

sure and true! 

 

 

 

For Sylvea Jane doesn’t share, 

my friends, 

but I don’t mean puddings or cake. 

 

 

She’ll give you a bite, 

a wink and a smile, 

but your secret is never at stake! 

 

 

 

For Sylvea Jane doesn’t share, 

my friends, 

though she’s happy 

and friendly and wise. 

 

 

She may not blab on, 

or give you the scoop, 

but that’s what great friendship buys! 

 

 

 

She’s a dear and a love, 

P’s, Q’s and all, 

a friend straight and true 

sure to hold… 

 

 

and if you are lucky 

to know her at all, 

that’s really enough I am told.
