INTRODUCTION

A Sporting Singapore! Our Way of Life

Sports have become an increasingly important facet of our individual lives and an indispensable component of our culture.

A strong sports culture needs to be cultivated so that sports can become an integral part of life. In this aspect, the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) has been actively encouraging sports participation among Singaporeans.

Initiated by SSC, this Swimming Information Guide (Swim Guide) is part of SSC's continuous effort to better facilitate the practice of sports and the promotion of a Sporting Singapore.

Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and relevant partners; the Swim Guide consolidates information pertaining to swimming courses, programmes and facilities available under SSC; and will be made available to the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Educational Institutions in Singapore.

Essentially, this Swim Guide features useful information on how, when & where to participate in; and organize swimming programmes. Hence, the Swim Guide provides a one-point reference for any individual who are keen to take up swimming as a sport.
