Introduction

Program Learning's
4
Co-ordination: There is good vertical and horizontal
coordination between the authorities in the field of urban
development.
Land use and Transport integration: Land-use and transport
plans are being integrated in both the cities to create better
urban environment and the travel needs of the people could be
met by the public transport system.
Inter modal integration: The different modes of transports have
been integrated with each other to compliment rather than
conflict.
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION PLANNING BOARD Leaders Programme in Urban Transportation Planning
Program Learning's
5
Transit Oriented Development: Transit oriented development
concept has been adopted as a travel demand management
strategy to reduce travel demand.
Sustainability: The sustainable mode of transport is being
promoted in both the Cities. The walking and cycling are the most
sustainable modes of transport.
Private Sector funding of Urban Transport: Private sector has been
involved to develop and operate public transport services. The
investment in the rail based public transport is very high and
sometime public sector is not having enough financial resources to
invest in these kinds of project.

Redevelopment in section-2 (Old part of Ghaziabad City)
Automatic signaling, CCTV monitoring with modern control room.
For last-mile connectivity smaller vehicles like-rickshaws, E-rickshaws
