During November 17-19, 2015, Mr. Natt Leelawat (Ph.D. Student of Tokyo Institute of Technology who visited IRIDeS for 3 months in 2013 as internship student) participated and gave an oral presentation at the 6th International Conference on Sustainable Future for Human Security (SUSTAIN 2015) in Bali, Indonesia. The conference was organized by SustaiN Society: Kyoto University, Ritsumeikan University, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Hasanudin University, Jember University, Indonesia Islamic University, and Brawijaya University. Title: “Preference for Information during Flood Disasters: A Study of Thailand

and Indonesia” Authors: Mr. Natt Leelawat, Dr. Abdul Mahari (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia),

Dr. Mongkonkorn Srivichai (Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Anawat Suppasri (IRIDeS), Prof. Fumihiko Imamura (IRIDeS), (Assoc.Prof. Jeremy D. Bricker (IRIDeS)).

This paper has been selected by the committees of SUSTAIN 2015 to be the Best Paper in Disaster Management Track. The content of this paper presents the comparison between the two countries’ flood disasters focusing on the 2011 Thailand Flood and the 2013 Jakarta Flood.
