The Equipping Ministry
Empowering the People of God for the Work of the Kingdom
“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.” St. John 14: 10 – 15
LEADER: What Day Is This?
PEOPLE: THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE. LET US
REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.
LEADER: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of
the Lord our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
PEOPLE: AND THE LORD ANSWERED ME, AND SAID,
WRITE THE VISION, AND MAKE IT PLAIN, THAT
THEY MAY RUN THAT READ IT. LEADER: For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it
shall speak, and not lie: though it linger, wait for it; because it
will surely come.
PEOPLE: FOR THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY HIS FAITH. FOR THE
LORD IS IN HIS HOLY TEMPLE, LET ALL THE EARTH
KEEP SILENCE BEFORE HIM.
LEADER: And God made some apostles, and some prophets, and some
evangelists, and some pastors, and some teachers.
ALL: FOR THE PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS, FOR THE
WORK OF THE KINGDOM, FOR THE EDIFYING
OF THE BODY OF CHRIST: UNTIL WE ALL COME
IN THE UNITY OF THE FAITH, AND OF THE
KNOWLEDGE OF THE SON OF GOD…UNTO THE
FULLNESS OF CHRIST. Amen.

Scripture of the Year
Somebody Prayed for Me
WALKING WITH GIANTS (DEACONS EQUIPPING & EMPOWERING!)
NO MORE „BABY STEPS,’ we’re stepping out and we’re stepping out with a grandeur and a grace that can only come from Above. We‟re planning a “summer to remember,” members. In fact, this entire year of 2011 is power-packed with greatness: indeed, our God is an Awesome God!
During the next 9 weeks (June 1 – July 27) our deacons will be sharing in Exploits of Explosion” with expository exhortations from these dynamic Equipped and Empowered lay leaders. Make no mistake about it we are looking forward to seeing growth in every dimension of our church. We are calling for EVERY MEMBER to come join us throughout this period. And we won’t hold you long, either --- the 8:30 hour will signal the time for us to begin our “wrap up for the evening. So let‟s get ready, New Unity. Grab your keys, your bibles, note pads, and pens and let’s get ready for an awesome explosion of growth in the Word. Amen!
LAUNCHING OUT …
“If one wants to get a boat ride, one must be near the river.”
Beginning this Wednesday and continuing throughout the entire month of June, Min. Catherine Culver will be our Noonday Speaker. Great anticipation is in the air already. Come join us, we’re expecting great things and there’s plenty of room aboard.
CHURCH & STATE DO MIX This year (Sunday, June 12th) we will celebrate Excellence in Education AND the Power of Pentecost together. We’re calling for EVERYONE to dress in
white and red. All of our academic
personnel will be honored – teachers, students, faculty, volunteers and staff. Deacon Sandra Jackson has our information forms available, but they need to be turned in today. Academics equip, Pentecost empowers – and they said “ne’er the twain shall meet.” Be here and witness “God doing it again in our midst. God bless you, New Unity, the Greatest Church that the Lord has Planted Anywhere!
SUMMERTIME OUTDOOR
WORSHIP SERVICE We’re committed to making the upcoming season a “summer to remember”. So, on Sunday, July 3rd we’ll hold our second outdoor worship service. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and we’ll be set up on Hamilton St. Deacons Frances Jackson & Vanessa Thomas are
serving as our event coordinators this year. Please be sure to invite your neighbors and friends to come join us, and be sure to share the post on New Unity‟s Facebook page with all of your friends far and wide.

THE CALL CONTINUES… “The LORD still calls it is ours but to answer”. On Saturday, July 23rd, Deacon Zazenza Smith will deliver her “Initial Sermon” to the church. We are calling for all to join us, the service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Amen.
KEPHALE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE
On last Sunday over 25 persons under the age of 35 – the overwhelming vast majority under 30 – signed up for enrollment in our Leadership Development Institute. HALLELUJAH!
This will be our first-ever class and we’re awfully excited about this “summer to remember”. Pastor Golden will serve as our headmaster and many, many others will be needed for our Visioning and Strategic Planning Sessions. Start praying N-O-W, New Unity! Great things are oft borne out of the simplest dreams. The word “Kephale” (keh fah lay) is the Greek word for “head” (Strong’s G 2776). Stay tuned. Details to follow… as the Spirit gives utterance.
"THE OK MOMENT" Beginning today, Deacon Marion Highe and members of the Financial Stewardship Ministry will share "The OK Moment" with us each week. Deacon Highe and ministry have been charged with overseeing our financial health.
The Greek word for "stewardship" is oikonomia (oh kon a me a) and from this we have created the OK Moment. We are committed to "Equipping & Empowering the People of God for the Work of the Kingdom" and one of the best ways to equip and empower is through teaching and sharing. Ok? Ok!
