Fees include a daily breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, entry fees, field trip transportation, program supplies and covers a SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAM staff to child ratio of 1-15 (1-12 for children entering the 1st grade). Activities include swimming, arts & crafts, team sports, outside play, computer lab, field trips, special interest clubs and many special events. REGISTRATION Registration for the Day Camp Program begins May 2 at the Schofield Barracks, AMR, Fort Shafter and HMR school-age program facilities. Parents may enroll their children in one or more day camp weekly sessions by visiting the school-age program nearest them and filling out the proper forms. Parents new to CYSS must register at Parent Central Services (PCS). PCS offices are located at Schofield Barracks, building 1283, call 655-8380/5314 and at AMR, building 1782, call 833-5393. Full session fees will be due not later than five working days before the session actually begins. Late fees will be charged if the entire session fee has not been paid for by the first day of the program. Space is limited at all program sites so register early. SUMMER LEARN-TO-SWIM/AQUATIC PROGRAMAll children must be registered through CYSS Parent Central Services and present their CYSS registration card when registering for swim lessons at the pool.Taught by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Red Cross Certificate of level of achievement.Parent/Tot Program (3 thru5 yrs old) are water adjustment skills, classes by age level and progression. Requires in water participation of a parent or other adult who is responsible for the child. This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive in water.

IMPORTANT NOTES• Please present all Red Cross Level

completion cards to assist in student placing when registering.

• Please note that due to space limitations, registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Payment is due at time of registration.

• Learn to Swim takes participants level by level from their first step into the water to ease and build proficiency in the standard swimming skills.

MIDDLE SCHOOL AND TEEN PROGRAMS(MST) - an affiliate of National 4H and Boys & Girls Clubs of America

AMR Teen Center Bldg 1781 Phone# 833-0920The AMR Teen Center, will be offering a 6 week themed summer camp Monday through Friday from June 6th- July 22th. The camp time is 10-6pm. The summer program includes other military MWR Programs such as the swimming pool, bowling center, gym and community center. Teens will need to provide a sack lunch daily and sign a waiver form for camp. Register at the AMR CYSS Registration Office located in the AMR School Age Center. Fees are based on total family income. Registration for summer camp will begin on May 2, 2011. Limited spaces are available. Applicant must also be registered with the CYSS Middle School and Teen (MST) Program, if not currently a member. Teens must have completed the 6th grade through 12th grade to be eligible for the summer program. The teen center provides a fun and safe place for teens to gather and socialize. The teen center provides a variety of clubs and activities. Clubs include: 4H Cooking, Photography, Gardening, and Community Club, special interest clubs such as DJ and Dance Club as well as the Boys & Girls Clubs. The center offers employment and career assistance, leadership and life skills classes. The center is equipped with computers with internet service, color printers, video and board games and other educational materials. Click on CYSS, middle school and teen program.Leadership OpportunitiesYouth SponsorshipThe Youth Sponsorship Program helps teens deal with the stress of moving by providing 7th-12th grade with a teen friend. Teen sponsors provide information and support to the incoming teen to Hawaii. Interested teens can assist in planning Hail and Farewells, socials, dances, trips, assembling welcome packets and creating a web page. Look for upcoming Aloha events in the July Teen activity calendar.Keystone Club (grades 9-12) & Torch Club (grades 7-8)A teen leadership program, which get teens involved in the planning of special events and providing input to the center. Keystone and Torch club members have the opportunity to participate in the Youth Leadership Forum (teen ages 14-19), Army Conferences, and camps. High School teen members also have the opportunity to represent their installation as the Pacific Teen Panel (PTP) member and Alternate Pacific Teen Panel member. Weekly & Weekend Apprenticeship Program provides 15-18 year-old youth with meaningfully, professionally-managed career-exploration opportunities in Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) operations at the Bowling Centers, Physical Fitness Centers, Food and Beverage Operations, Golf Courses, Youth Sports, School Age Centers, Arts and Crafts Centers and many more. The HIRED! Weekly & Weekend Apprenticeship Program offers valuable paid work experience and training to better equip each participant with the skills needed for a highly-competitive job market. The EDGE! Program offers out-of school opportunities for children and youth to experience, develop, grow and excel by participating in cutting- EDGE art, fitness, life skills and adventure activities, known as Art EDGE!, Fit EDGE!, Life EDGE! and Adventure EDGE!The program offers weekly registration for programs Monday through Friday. Program Ages: Youth grades 1st-5th grade are $30 per week and Teens 6th-12th grade are FREE unless otherwise noted. Blue star card holders receive the first week of the EDGE program FREE.
