    Analysis of prospecting in two blocks in the basin of the Amazon river: - Urucu region (onshore) - Aracaju (offshore)

    In the territory of Urucu block, a forecast was made of perspectivity on STeP technology and it coincided with the forecast of the customer made on the basis of the geological data. In the territory of Aracaju block, there are no geological data. STeP technology allowed revealing a number of structures. Drilling of wells confirmed 90 % from them. Two forecast structures completely coincided with the structures revealed earlier

    Forecast was made of prospectivity of the license area. Contours of several prospective structures were predicted. In these structures, seismic works were carried out. 3 from them were confirmed by seismic. In one structure a well was drilled that produced an inflow of oil. (see Fig.)

    Structural maps were constructed on the roof of paleobasement and formations , 10, and M. Points were recommended for well drilling.

    Geological model was constructed of the territory; maps were made of oil and gas prospectivity factor. Localization was made of the territory on where the customer made a decision on 2-D detailed seismic works.

    Forecast maps were constructed of Upper Jurassic Lower Cretaceous deposits, their litho-physical, permeability and porosity, and oil-producing properties were estimated. Three oil-prospective areas were localized and 14 points were planned for exploration drilling.
