TIMME Conference Leads to A Flash of InspirationI stumbled on the idea for this ebook by accident. Although, as I soon learned, there are no accidents. Iactually attracted myself into writing this book.

This all began when I attended the 2006 TIMME Convention in Baltimore and started observing people tosee what made them successful. As I met different marketers, I discovered that there are many paths tobeing successful. But, there are always common traits that bring successful people together. I went andfigured out the traits and documented them in this ebook.

This book is short, but don’t take it lightly. It could be one of the most important ebooks you read this year.

It all started innocently enough. I, like many people got an invitation to go to a little conference called theInternet Marketing Main Event. I got the email from Tim Knox, and saw the price, around $800 and wasinterested but wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend that much money.

Then something interesting happened. I noticed that Paulie Sabol was putting on this event. I had boughtsome advertising on Paulie’s website though the ITEX Barter Exchange. I contacted Paulie and he offeredto let me go for $97. THAT’S TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP! I then called the airline and they werehaving a sale. Airfare to Baltimore for under $200! What a deal! I knew this was a sign that I had to go.Yes, I had actually attracted myself to the circumstances that allowed me to go to the conference.

A couple days before the conference I started emailing people to see who I might meet. One person inparticular that I wanted to meet was Daegan Smith, author of "Internet MLM Success." He and I are bothtop producers in Success University and I wanted to see if he was going. We decided to chat and he toldme something that will stay with me forever. He said "If you want to be truly successful online, you mustcreate your own products!" Then, he said "I make it a habit to email my list twice a day." I have heard thisadvice before, but suddenly now, I get it.

You must have your own products to build your list. Promoting other people’s products is not enough.

I also met search engine expert Nana Gilbert-Baffoe. We chatted and hung out together. While we werehanging out, he told me that he wanted to introduce me to Anik Singal, the founder of Affiliate Classroom.

Nana told me a story about Anik, which has been documented time and time again among successfulpeople. He said, "I remember back when Anik had nothing more than the $100 that he won by luck at aSuper Bowl party by guessing the end score. Yet, he found a way to keep pouring money into Affiliate Classroom because he believed in it and had a vision that he knew he could not fail" Anik’s dream becamea reality and now Anik is one of the internet’s great success stories!

This story has been documented time and time again online. It’s well known that Jim Edwards filedbankruptcy and once lived in a trailer because his online venture failed. David Vallieres went very deepinto debt before he made it big online.

I am not saying that you should go bankrupt. I am saying that you should stick with your idea and make itwork, don’t just "try" to make it work.

Quit changing ideas at the drop of a hat! If you have a new idea, please, please, please finish your firstidea first before moving on to the new idea. My research has shown that every single one of the peoplethat are successful online are masters at completing their thoughts. Unsuccessful people have trouble withcompletion and keep bouncing around from idea to idea in circles and then wonder why they failed. It’sok to come up with new ideas. I come up with new ideas all the time. When you have a moment ofinspiration, write it out on a piece of paper and come back to it later.

You must find the idea that you are passionate about and stick with it. Never, never, never give up!

The next person that I was dying to meet was Matt Morris, founder of Success University. That first nightI got my wish as Matt Morris, Cody Moya, Daegan Smith and I had dinner together. Cody had neverheard of Success University. Matt told him a little about what it was all about and then asked us ouropinion about some ideas that he had for the company. I was amazed at how Matt could come up with somany great ideas for the company, but yet he didn’t have everything laid out for the next 10 years.Interestingly Cody and Daegan were the exact same way. They just had an IDEA for where they wantedto be. The details would take care of themselves.

Focus on where you are going and the details will take care of themselves. Keep on the straight andnarrow path.

Later in the conference, Keith Wellman was on stage. His story is interesting because he went fromstruggling to making $100k a month is a quick flash. Mike Filsaime asked him what made the difference.And he said something interesting. "When I stopped looking for the answer in a book and just looked forit inside me, it all happened." Yes, when he believed in himself and had a vision for the future, it all fellinto place.

Yes, the answer is in yourself once you believe in you!

That night I hung out at the sports bar with Keith Wellman, founder of The List FX, Jordan Hall, of Promo Code Secrets, John Reel of GoTryThis and Mike Gartner, the owner of Link Crews.

Keith and Mike had a big debate as to whether the traffic exchanges were a legitimate online tool. Bothwere highly successful online and yet they had completely different opinions of this one area.

Think about it for a moment. It happens all the time in the online world. One guy says AdSense is dead.The next guy says AdSense is alive. Keith and Mike could not agree on traffic exchanges. In the forums,one guy will say that one type of marketing is great. The next guy says it sucks. No wonder you are confused!

I used to attend real estate investing conventions and it was the same way. One guy says rentals are great.The next guy says avoid rentals and the next guy says do foreclosures. That’s because there are severalpaths to success. You just have to know which one you are on.

There is more than one path to success. You just have to find your path based on your strengths and stickwith it. You just have to know where you are going and what you are good at.

After Keith and his buddies left, I saw some other guys at the next table over and hung out there. It was agreat contrast to the people from Keith’s table, because, the experience level was nearly identical. Yet,these people were struggling to make a living online.

I met a guy there who had paid a software developer several thousand dollars to build some link cloakingsoftware for him. Then, do you know what he did with it? Absolutely nothing! It’s still on his hard drive!No website at all! He went on to buy Butterfly Marketing (never used it) and some AdSense stuff and abunch of other crap. He told me he was still ";finding his niche."; No vision of the future whatsoever. Nosurprise, the guy is still working a job.

The next girl at the table had a couple sites: a Butterfly Marketing site that wasn’t performing and acouple others. When I asked her to explain them, I had troubles understanding what her real vision for thesite was. Then, she was complaining that she couldn’t find JV partners.

So, then after these two experiences I decided to compare and contrast the two groups. Why did the peopleat the first table do so well, while the ones at the second table do so poorly? They both had about the samelevel of experience online. They both owned Butterfly Marketing. But, one group was successful and onewas not.

The people at the first table were focused! They knew where they were and where they wanted to be. Theyknew the next move. They might not have known where they were going to be 10 years down the road,but they had a clear understanding of their websites.

The people at the first table did not give in to trying to chase after every single little deal.

There is no correct path to success! Only your path!

The next day, I met again with Daegan Smith. I told him that I found a product and you are looking at it!

So, remember, these are the six steps to success. Yes, it really is this simple:

1. You must have a clear picture of where you are and where you want to be

2. You must be able to adapt to changing conditions

3. You must take action whether you have all the answers or not

4. You must believe in yourself and your product

5. The gurus are just people too, just like you and me. They don’t have all the answers and neither do you.

6. The key to success is not in a book, but rather, inside you!

Here Are Even More Success Secrets That I DiscoveredOnce I got home from the conference, I decided to really study what made certain people successful. Ibought a DVD called "The Secret" and discovered something that successful people have known about forcenturies. It’s called "The Law of Attraction." In essence, it says, "You get what you think about the most."

The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. Much of what was once considered metaphysical,esoteric knowledge in the past is now scientific fact. Physics has shown that the principles involved in theLaw of Attraction are every bit as valid as those governing the Law of Gravity. So it should come as nosurprise that dwelling only on your problems simply attracts more problems.

The idea of attracting success by thinking about it is very appealing. So appealing in fact, people often getthe wrong impression that it’s easy. Affirmations can be helpful, but mindless affirmations alone have noreal value. On the other hand, once an affirmation becomes part of your belief system the subconsciousgoes to work attracting opportunities. It is not the success itself we attract, but the opportunity to succeed.

Our world is ruled by cause and effect, yet we often fail to see how this rule applies to the thoughts wethink. This happens because the results of our thoughts are so far removed from the cause that we fail tosee the connection.

The subconscious mind is working tirelessly 24 hours a day. It doesn’t analyze, it doesn’t judge, it simplyaccepts and attracts more of what the conscious mind is focused on. Are you attracting problems orsolutions? By focusing on desire and showing gratitude for what you already have, the subconscious mindis given the necessary material to provide a constant stream of opportunities. Whether we take advantageof these opportunities or not is another story.

It’s impossible to operate outside the law of attraction. Consciously or unconsciously your thoughts,feelings, and emotions, determine if this law works for or against you. Stay focused on your success andreaching your goals. As one success leads to another, success becomes a habit. Problems and obstacles areseen as no more than stepping stones on the road to your ultimate goal.
