September Saturdays arent just typicalSaturdays. Normally I roll out o bed atnoon seeking Gatorade and breakasttacos to soak up the remaining tequilathreatening to make me vomit andalleviate the headache making meseriously question the moral fber

that used to make up my soul. But inSeptember, beore I have the chanceto ask what the hell I am doing withmy lie, I pull on my boots, fll a ask

with whiskey and shotgun a beer. Its tailgate time.

Our assistant editor, Bill Bowman, and editorial contributor,Cameron Harley, have put their boy brains and testosteronetogether to create a comprehensive ootball guide or theupcoming season. Check out their predictions and eel ree tosend eedback via www.studybreaks.com. Be thankul I made nocontribution to the analysis, as my ootball experience revolvesaround these rules: come early, be loud, stay late, wear orange.

Hook Em! Tough Im useless at oretelling ootball, I am aveteran tailgater and have had a hand in organizing what is sureto be one o the best tailgates o the year (Im clearly the best atbeing modest). Join Study Breaks, chicka~d, Budweiser, exas

Wranglers and the Game Day Rival flm crew or the exas vs.Wyoming game on the 25th in the Bob Bullock parking lot. Most plainly put, it will be the Ultimate ailgate experience.

Footballs aside, there are other important things to start thinkingabout this all: winter break. Stop waiting or your riends toget it together enough to plan a skiing or snowboarding triptheyre useless. Winter break, much like spring break, is a collegeright o passage. At what other age can you risk your lie down

a double black and come home to a hot tub inused with vodkaand not have your riends think you have a serious problem? ake ull advantage o youth and lack o a real job. You needonly ip a ew pages and you will fnd unbeatable options ortrips rom the best production companies around. Study Breakstook the liberty o doing the research and planning or you.

    Cheers!

Bill, How do you find all

the crazy people to be in

    Study Breaks?

Getting people to share theirillicit or outrageous stories

for the public to read isnt aneasy task. I cant go into thedetails, but it does involve alittle sweet talking, maybe anadult beverage or two and a

    whole lot of leg work.

Jenny, did you partywith Tucker Max after

    the interview?

Yes I did. And no, I did NOTsleep with him. Contrary to

popular belief, hes actuallya real human being and notcompletely a cold hearted andconscience free prick. Alsocontrary to popular belief, Iout drank him! No lie, I hadto take a tequila shot for him.

    Brittney, My roommate

is kind of a slob. He never

takes out the trash and lets

the dishes pile up in the

    sink. What can I do?

Slob roommates are a commondiffi culty in college life. If youare tired of being passive whendealing with the mess, here is

what to do. Subtly move thedirty dishes underneath yourroomies bed. After a few weeks, the stench will drive him to do alittle housekeeping.

    Rachel Earthling,

    Jennifer, Can you explain why

twitter is important? I am a

    marketing major and have yet

to get on board with twitter.

Some people think Twitter is point-less, but it has actually become an in-

creasingly inuential tool to connectconsumers to brands and pop cultureicons they love or hate. Ive been us-ing Twitter as a way to connect withpeople who share similar interests, and it has expanded my network topeople in the industry. Follow me at@jenniferzhenyu - but youve been

EXODUSSEPTEMBER 8 @ EMOSEver wonder where todays rockstars started their

musical careers? Look no further. Originally started

in the Frisco Bay Area, the original lineup began with

none other than Kirk Hammet, current lead guitarist

of Metallica. That alone should be reason to check out

this band, but if youre still not convinced, just listen to

the 30 years worth of pure thrash metal this band has

created to become one of the most recognized names

in underground metal music. Departing in 1998 and

reincarnated in 2001, the band began releasing more

albums and touring like never before. Do not miss your

chance to see these thrash veterans riff out and bang

your head with pure, untainted thrash metal. Leave your

    spandex at home.

    BANDHOT

words: cameron harley photos: ty edding

Study Breaks is proud to in-troduce the 2010 Austin re-gional winner o College Battleo the Bands, Ben Baxter Band.Dont be ooled by the one nametitle, this band has talent in allcorners o the stage. Ben Baxteron vocals, Britton Byfeld on theelectric guitar, Joe Strelsky on thebass, and Dominic Ferrario withthe drum kit have engineered aunique brand o blues, rock and

vocals that have gotten them at-tention beore and is sure to givethem more in the uture. How

did they get the attention, andwhy should you care? Tey gaveStudy Breaks some clock time so

    we could fll you in.

    What is College Battle of

    the Bands and what was

    the experience like?

College Battle o the Bands is anational competition in which

we won an online vote-off, and

were then selected to compete inthe Austin regional tournament.

We won the regional, and thencompeted in the south-semifnals.Although we got Study Breaks

vote, we ended up with secondplace. I guess we cant be too up-set with that, but we didnt get togo to Vegas so that sucked.

    We know Study Breaks liked

you or else we wouldnt be

    sitting here, but why should

    anyone else?

You could like rap, blues, rock,

hip hop, or polka and you couldstill get into our sound I wehad to place it we would say itsblues soul rock, but there isntreally a word or it. I guess youcould say its a lot like Jack John-son with more sound. Eh, maybea little aster sounding. I think wemostly just wanted people to getinto us, as much as we do themat the shows. Wed like to always

stay down to earth and seem topeople like the band you could

see yoursel hanging out with we arent trying to be ashy, orcrazy, or anything like that.

    How did you guys start

    playing together?

Long story short, Britton and Igrew up or the frst part o ourlives in aylor [exas] where

we both received instrumentsas presents or Christmas. Aterthat we began to play together

    when we were bored. Although

we were separated during thehigh school years and only playedtogether on occasion, we bothound each other again at U.Ater that we decided to orma band.

    Have you always

    written your own music?

Not really. I started writing in thespring o 2008, but so ar it hasgone all right.

    Is Ben Baxter your real

    name or stage name?

Tats actually a unny story. Mreal name is Ben Jenkins, and mmiddle name is Baxter. But onight beore playing in Beltothey didnt have a letter J or tmarquis. But they had an extraBen Baxter it was.

    Which musicians inspire yo

Tats a long list but the DoobBrothers, Stevie Ray Vaughand Jimi Hendrix inuenthe blues guitar. We love S

vie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, basically anyone who can soul right.

    What is next?

We have an EP out that s publicwww.myspace.com/benbaxtOther than that check the site live show updates.

Blues can be many things. It spans all the way rom

simple sounds like Son Houseor Fats Domino, to the modernguitar wielding music o Ste-

vie Ray and Jack White. Nate,Buffalo, and Ed Miles have onlybeen jamming out the Austinscene or about a year now andare already grabbing some muchdeserved attention. Teir music isunlike any blues you have heardbeore, which is all the better rea-son to check them out. Tere isnttoo much religion about them, but they shared their gospel oprogressive blues with StudyBreaks.

    What does Disciples of

    Sound bring to the blues

    scene in Austin?

We play blues the way we eelabout it, and we eel like its thegreatest music on the planet.

Te only way that we could truly

describe it to you is i you were tohear the music. Te chemistry othe band really vibes, which makesus a dynamic blues sound. Tinko us as more along the lines oSoundgarden blues. Blues can bedefned as a lot o things, just askRage Against the Machine.

    Why should Study Breaks

    readers listen to your music?

We are one o the ew bandsthat arent trying to be anything. It just is what it is. Other bands

could try and cover our songs, butthey truly wouldnt sound any-thing like us. We arent concerned

with too many peoples reactions, but they are usually positive aterpeople understand our sound. Itis a really big sound or a threeperson band.

    Whats with the name?

    Why the Disciples?

We fgure that many people andideas have certain disciples. We callourselves the Disciples o Sound

so that people who are ans o alldifferent types o music could un-derstand that we want to be aboutplaying music beore anything else.

We truly do want to create awe-some sounding music and takepeople or the ride with us.

How do you write your music?A lot o our best stuff comes rom

just jamming and having un. Butwhen we made our EP, we wentin with an excess o music, andthe hardest part was deciding

what was the best. Its a goodsign you know? It means that thecreative juices are owing. PirateStudios was extremely helpul as

well. Many studios try to makeyou into something. Tey are tru-ly proessionals who love music.

Tey just said go and supportedour creativity.

    What is your message?

Some o it is political, some oit is just or the un o it , andsome is just about living. But, i

we wanted people to gain athing out o it, we just want thto understand that lie is a grthing to have and to enjoy it.

    Whats next for the

    Disciples of Sound?

Were currently working with rate Studios to produce our falbum ater only a year o pling. Until that comes out, we wkeep playing shows around Atin so keep an eye out or uscheck us out on MySpace.

What would be a good enough reason to wake hundreds of Central Texans up on a Saturdmorning, wait in hour long lines, and make them ll out pages upon pages of paperwoA shot at securing a spot on MTVs next Real World documentary show. Wonder if you comake the grade? Study Breaks sat down with Real World casting director, Megan Sleeper, the Cedar Door to see if she could give Study Breaks own Chad Happens any tips for mak

it on the show as a roommate.

What is the process for interviewing at a Real World casting call?First, you have to wait in line outside or about an hour and a hor our questionnaire tables. At the questionnaire tables, you will fout demographic application o about our pages. Ater flling othe questionnaire, people wait or about another hour until they acalled back to a table in groups o eight to meet with me. I I deethem worthy, they are asked to fll out another application in tCedar Doors back room or MVs producers to look over. T

will make another cut, and ask or their fnalists to make a vidargument. Ater all o the casting calls are over, we will pick tfnal roommates.

Is it hard to decide which people make it past the initial table interview?I actually think that my job is really easy. I just have to sit down wia table o people and decide which ones I want to know more aboIve been doing that or eight years now.

How many casting calls does Real World hold?Around 40 nationwide. But, people have been chosen elsewhere. aEmily rom Real World Cancun or example, the Boston castindirector ound her in a Starbucks.

Do you have stereotypes picked out?I know its hard to believe (with laughter), but we dont ever sit dowand ask or a specifc type o person. Tink about all o the issues thcome up between roommates without cameras around. We just pipolar and outgoing people. Fireworks can light rom there.

So, what is your best advice for Chad?Be yoursel. its really easy to see when someone is putting onshow. We at MV know that akeness wont translate or an entiseason o real drama.

    with Casting Direct

    Megan Sleeper

words + photos: cameron harley + chad happens

    REAL WORLDCASTING CALL

So Chad went onward, condent as he always is, toward the rstline. Filled out the forms, and made the rst cut by just beinghimself. After waiting on the producer response, he unfortunatelywasnt chosen. Heres his recap.

Ater a lie long dream, well at least since middleschool, I got the chance to audition or myrightul spot in the house o seven. I arrived earlyto avoid the line, and the wait wasnt that bad.

Once inside, we were given a orm similar to a jobapplication or a paper version o an eHarmonyprofle. It was a race to fnish the orm frst tobe one o the frst 10 or the real interview. Teinterview was a pow-wow round table discussionacilitated by the casting director (she was reallycute by the way). Ater about 10-15 minutes otable talk, all but our o us were dismissed.

We were taken to a back room and made to fll outthe standardized test expansion packet o the earlyorm. Unortunately, thats as ar as I made it.

CHAD HAPPENS: THE NEXT REAL WORLD STAR?

Be ready to be outspoken, fgurativelyand literally.

Be yoursel no matter how weird, because that just might get you on the

    show.

It probably helps to be the token blackguyIm just saying Kanye Shrug.

Be ready orrejection no matterhow sure you arethat you will make it.

Flirt with the castingdirector and get theircontact, it cant hurt.

Study Breaks staff is here to keep you up to date on what is hot this Fall

    FACEBOOK:

Since most of you reading this article are probably on

Facebook multitasking while you read this, there is really

no explanation necessary for why this website is Hot.

    MYSPACE:

If youre fifteen, or attend middle school, MySpace is the

place for you. Otherwise, ditch this site and join a more pro-

fessional network where you can meet people your own age.

    *The only semi-acceptable

means of using this website is

    to search for cool bands.

    FAT IN AVOCADOS:

If you feel like indulging in fatty foods

that wont give you a heart attack

try an avocado. They are high in fat -

    but monounsaturated fat, the good

    kind that actually lowers cholesterol

    levels. Even better, take fresh

    avocados and make guacamole

    a perfect mid-day treat.

FAT IN CHAD HAPPENS LITTLE LUTHER

In need of a heart attack and some clogged

arteries? No problem, just head to your local

Krispy Kreme and KFC. Grab two glazed

donuts, stick a fried chicken breast with

cheese and bacon in between and be

prepared to feel the wrath of

    your stomach later.

    SNOW CONE MACHINES

    Snow Cones offer the guise

    of innocent fun and sobriety,

but with the pour of a liquor

bottle they turn into a delicious

    Pina Colada or countless other

    mixed drinks!

    MARGARITA MACHINES

    Sure, margarita machines serve up

tasty chilled drinks, but they are

heavy, expensive and a person can

easily whip a margarita up without

    the aid of technology.

    RUBBER WRIST BANDS

A time has finally come to retire these col-

orful wrist bands for every brand or cause

you ever supported. While we still support

great causes like Livestrong, theres a day

when we need to give our arms a little

breather from the insulation of the mul-tiple bands that ate up your arm.

can save you five cents on a bag

of pistachios, but the effort to go

through them is too much! Go digital

    SILLY BANDZ

Long live the days where we embrace

    COWBOYS LASSO A LOSS

    Texas vs Wyoming

The rst home game of the season should be another easy one. Wyoming nished l

year one game above a winning record in the MWC. Last year Wyoming gave Texas a sc

The Owls are hosting UT in the first game of the season. Last year Rice finished w

    RED RAIDER REDUX

The Leach-less Red Raiders will be looking to start things off on a new foot and noth

    Texas vs UCLA

The UCLA Bruins will face Texas for the rst time since the Rose Bowl in 1997. In th

game, the Bruins routed Texas by 63 points. A lot changes in 13 years. UT is a season aw

from the BCS championship and UCLA is struggling to make it in the PAC-10. Sophomo

    RAUCOUS RED RIVER

    Texas vs Oklahoma

The Red River Rivalry burns its date on the calendar with all the anticipation of birthdays

and anniversaries. The Fair Grounds of Dallas will host the 105 th game. Last year Sam

Bradford went down in the second quarter and UT went on to a razor thin victory. This

year, the characters are different but the game is the same. OU Quarterback Landry Jones

will return to Dallas in hopes of putting the Sooners on top.

    Texas: 21 Oklahoma: 17

    BEVO BEATS DOWN BO

    Texas vs Nebraska

Nebraskas star has been rising in recent years with last years 9-4 record and shutout

of Arizona in the Pacic Life Bowl. The razor thin loss to Texas in the Big 12 championship

will be fresh on Nebraskas mind as Texas travels to corn country. This years matchup

will be different now that Suh is in the pros, but Nebraskas offensive line, defense and

running remain strong. Roy Helu is thei r top offensive player. He ran for over 1,100 yards

last season and was Nebraskas offensive MVP.

This will be a season changing game for both sides. Texas will be coming through a

gauntlet of tough games, including the Red River Rivalry, while Nebraska should be

unscathed, with a possible top ten record and looking ahead to Big 10. The game is

being played in Lincoln and the Huskers will be wild. Nebraska should be unscathed

and with a possible top ten record. This game will be a slobber knocker for the ages.

    Keys to VICTORY

The Offensive Line has lost Charlie Tanner, AdamUlatowski and Chris Hall. Protecting Gilbert will be vitalto airing out the ball and the line will need to remainsolid if UT wants to establish a solid running game.

Quarterback Gilbert is obviously the hugefactor for UT this season. His successwill determine the success of the team.

Defense:The Texas defense looks great this year. They return key players who will look to continue topressure opposing quarterbacks and a secondarythat is second to none.

Baylor. The speedy Robert Grifn III aka RG3 will return from injury and try to live up

his freshman year hype. This will be tough considering UT has pounded the Bears ye

    after year.

    Texas: 60 Baylor: 14

    MACK ATTACKSTexas vs Kansas State

The Wildcats are looking to capitalize on their home eld advantage when they take

Texas. Kansas State is led by senior running back Daniel Thomas. Last year he rush

for over 1,200 yards. He will take on the stacked Texas defense. The defense of Kans

State wasnt too good last year and this year they should be worse. Gilbert should ta

advantage and air it out to victory.

    Texas: 48 Kansas State: 18

    Nov. 6th Manhattan, K

Garrett Gilbert came to the spotlight last year in the heart

breaking National Championship game. He fell short of

bringing the Longhorns to victory but he showcased his

skills and poise. Gilberts football background reads like

football Bible. In his senior year of high school he won

the state championship, set the state record for passing

yards and was named offensive player of the year by USA

Today. His lineage also bodes well for talent. His father Gale

Gilbert played eight seasons in the NFL.

This year expectations are high that Gilbert can keep the

Longhorns at the top. During the Spring Game, Gilbert

further bolstered the confidence of fans by showing

his arm strength and football IQ. If Gilbert can play solid

and make smart decisions, the Horns have a shot and a

second Big 12 Championship and maybe even a glimpse at

    BCS Bowl glory.

    in his senior season.

    FLORIDA FALLS

    Texas vs Florida Atlantic

Florida Atlantic will be traveling to Austin close to the close of the season. Last year they

nished in the middle of the Sun Belt with a 5-7 record. The last meeting between these

two teams was two seasons ago when UT handed the Owls a 42-point beat-down. This

seasons game will be more of the same.

BEVO BESTS AGGIETexas vs Texas A&M

Thanksgiving Day means turkey, family and football. Last season A&M pushed Texas to the

limit in a thrilling game. This year will be another hard fought battle. A&M quarterback

Jerrod Johnson is returning and he will be looking to build on his stellar performance in his

senior year. When the Aggies come to town, anything is possible.

o get a little more insight on

the upcoming exas season, we fgured it would be smartto consult the guys who ana-lyze the Horns or a livingand have the experience. RodBabers o 1300 Te Zone satdown and talked some ootball.Rod played or both exasand in the NFL. Currently hehosts Sports Buffet at 1300 TeZone everyday.

How do you think GarrettGilbert will fare this season?

Te kids legit. Some peopledont like this comparison.Chris Sims. Big, tall, blondebomber. Te guy had a gun.Garrett has all the same physi-cal tools but Garrett is moreathletic. He can run. Peoplethink he is some statue. Te de-ense might drop back and Gil-bert will take off. Hes antastic,he is going to do great.

    At what position does

UT need to shore up to win?My question marks are with thereceivers who are unproven. Itsgoing to be hard to replace Jor-dan Shipley. Malcolm Williamshas amazing physical tools, buthe hasnt proven it yet. You seethe glimpses, but he hasnt put itall together.

Who will be the breakoutplayer for UT this year?Marquis Goodwin. He is soexplosive. alk about explo-

sion? Tis guys got it. No oneis going to be able to cover himone on one. Quarterbacks liketo grow up with guys. Marquisand Garrett will grow togetherlike Colt and Jordan.

Does UT have a realistic shotat getting to a BCS Bowl game?I believe they do. First o all, because o the way the Big 12

is set up. We beat Oklahoma

and we write our own ticket. Ithink we have a chance everyyear. Mack Brown is bringing intop fve recruiting classes every

year. He is re-loading so, I dontsee any all-off necessarily; theguys just have to mature intotheir roles.

What teams other thanAlabama does Texasneed to lookout for?

You got to look out or Florida.Garrett Gilbert was the Gato-

rade Player o the year, so wastheir quarterback John Brantley. Some people are talking aboutOhio State having a good year, saying it is errell Pryors break-out year.

What do you thinkof the Big 12 at ten teams?I think that was a terrible mis-take. Teyre saying they dont

    want to expand, they wan

to stay at ten. We are tak-ing a backwards step. Now

we are going to ten. Everyoneelse has expanded. Te Big 12title game has always kept usrelevant in the BCS picture. Now, i we play our last gameon Tanksgiving, everyone willorget about us. Every majorconerence will have a cham-pionship game and we will justbe sitting around and we willlose points in the BCS because

    THE BEST FOOD WHEN

    ALCOHOL KICKS YOUR ASS

    compiled by: jennifer yu

I should have taken myown advice on my recent

    21st Birthday!HANGOVERFOOD FIX

Weve all been there. Youre rollingaround in bed at about 1 p.m. after anight of foolishly downing a Jager bombafter every other Dos Equis. Your headfeels about a hundred times heavier,

and you cant help but think, FML.Hangovers are no strangers to us, butluckily, Study Breaks has you coveredon the perfect pre-hangover andhangover foods to alleviate the pain.

    PRE-HANGOVER HANGOVER:

    PHO

A staple Vietnamese dish but even

more necessary once the head starts

pounding and the stomach is growling.

In the broth, brisket, beef meatballs, andtendon is mixed with rice noodles and

garnished with cilantro, lime, mint, and

other vegetables. If youve never tried

pho, I dare you to. Youll thank me later.

    Chinese food

If you cant nd yourself to get out of

the house because the sunlight would

    only make matters worse, hopefully

youll have some leftover Chinese food

from the night before. You can enjoy

this quick x meal as you curl up in bed

    throbbing in misery.

    Greasy burrito

Go for the greasy burrito if you

need something to really ll up

your stomach. Instead of Chipotle or

Freebirds, hit up the nearest burrito

and taco stand. Despite the fact that

grease and fat is clearly bad for you,

    the unfortunate predicament youre in

calls for an intake of meaty, seasoned,

    fatty fajita beef.

    McDonalds

    For the unadventurous and lazy,

    McDonalds is the convenient stop

    for overwhelming calories and high

    sodium intake necessary to help

    any hangover. Chicken nuggets, one

McDouble, large order of fries, and a

Coke does the trick for me.

    Jack In The Box

    Tacos and Curly Fries

The perfect combination of processed meat and

seasoned fries satises any craving after hitting

    up downtown.

    Pancakes and

    hash browns

Whether at your local Dennys, IHOP, or 24 hour

diner, pancakes and hash browns have the

    carbohydrate x youre looking for.

    Ramen

Every college students savior a multi-purpose

food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, AND pre-

hangover. Buy the spicy kind (Shin Ramen is my

favorite) for that extra kick in the mouth.

    Taco Cabana

    Fajita Cabana Bowl

Happiness in a bowl artery clogging fajita

meat amongst guacamole, sour cream, and

    cheese denitely helps post-drinking munchies.

    Kebabalicious

One of the best food stands to hit after a night

out on 6th but dont loiter around the bars too

long after closing time because the line gets

long if you dont go straight there at 2 a.m.! I

recommend the beef/lamb kebab, mildly spicy, with extra tzatziki sauce.

    Best Wurst

This is an Austin classic and no true experience

on 6th is ever complete without getting mustard

all over your drunken face from the monstrosity

of your bratwurst meat, bun, and toppings.

DOES IT LIVE UPTO THE HYPE?words: bill bowman photos: press

Arguably the most popular workout trend nowadays is

P90X. Infomercials tout its ability to get a ripped body.

Study Breaks was curious if it worked, so we did a little

research and asked Marcus Cox, a UT senior who has had

experience with the program, if it lives up to the hype.

Marcus says that P90X mixes several styles and techniques to

keep your body guessing. He did a three-month regimen

of the seven-day a week program, along with eating right. In

the end, he saw great results and got the six-pack he wanted.

    Effort

Its not a 30 minutes three days a week

workout. It requires you to put in

over an hour a day seven days a week.

This is a downside for a lot of people

    with busy schedules.

    Flexibility

The good thing is that you can do it at

home or at your office or at the park,

whenever you want. All you really need

is an open space, pull up bar, resistance

    band, and dumb-bells.

    Cost

    Dumb-bells can get very expensive.

When you start seeing results and get

stronger, you will need to buy heavier

weights. Just a pair of 30lb bells can

cost you $60. The videos themselves

    are expensive.

    Does it Really Work?

It works! But its not for the faint of heart

and it isnt easy. It will bust your balls, you

will sweat, you will hurt, but it makes you

come back for more. The guy who leads the

videos, Tony, is crazy and he will push you.

    RESULTS

Based on what Marcus says and other

testimonials and research, it is safe to say

that P90X will get you in killer shape if

you have the motivation and drive to

    follow the program.

FROM A GRADUATING SENIOR LOUIS MARTINEZ

BELIEVE IN SOMETHINGDo I mean God? Not really. Ive met alot o people in my time here on campus, and theres one common thread betweenall o the ones I call my true riends they are all real people, and I know itsbecause they have strong convictionsabout something, and they arent araidto let you know it. One guy will neverskip a class (studies show this is a betterindicator o your uture salary than yourGPA), another guy will never miss aparty (unless he knows hes just goingto be thinking about studying the wholetime hes out), while yet another willalways walk right up to the person he

doesnt know and shake their hand.

MEET PEOPLENobody knows who the hell you are. Who

you are today is not who you are tomorrow.

rust me, youll change plenty in ouryears, hopeully or the better. Teres noreason you shouldnt meet somebody newevery single day as a reshman. rust me,everybody is just as lost as you are in thoseintro classes, dont be araid to talk to thathot person next to you.

    WORDS OF

I still remember my first day as a freshman,

more excited than a five year old on the

night before Christmas. I also remember

not knowing a goddamned thing about the

city, or how the hell things would work out.

Three long years later, and here I am a

senior who has seen enough to know that

Ive done things as close to right as I could

have hoped. So all I want is to share a few

words of wisdom with you, Mr. and Ms.Incoming Freshman.

somewhere nice everyday does not equateto a great college experience. And let meclariy, work does not equal internships.Get your ass up over the summer and getthe experience that will set you apart when
