How long do you go for?

• Go for a full year

• Third year of afour-year course

• Go for a semester

• Normally in the first term of your second year

Studying

• You will take modules in the same subject area as at Exeter at an equivalent level

• Typically 4 modules per semester• Also ‘Learning Log’ assignment

Assessment• Registered to a ‘Study Abroad’ module• Marks from abroad are translated• Year abroad is 1/7th of your degree award

Money

• Erasmus grant for those studying in Europe

• Usually 2 instalments

• €310 - €370 per month of your placement

Other costs• Spending money

• Housing

• Travel

• Health insurance

• Travel insurance

• Visas

• But still support from Student Finance

Tuition fees

• No tuition fees to host University

• Outside Europe half fees to Exeter

• No fees for Europe in 2013/14.

Minimum requirements

• Must have a 2:1 average in 1st year

• If studying in a language other than English, must be studying to Advanced level through Foreign Language Centre

Application• Must include:

1) Application form2) Personal statement3) 1st year transcript and 2nd

year feedback sheets

• All applicants should meet with their Study Abroad co-ordinator

• Deadline is Friday1st February

What happens next?

• Find out which place you have in mid-February

• Complete application form for partner university

– Including references

• International Office meetings in March/April

• Pre-departure meeting in June
