AbouttheOnlineRegistrationApplicationRegistrationistheprocessofselectingandapprovingsubjectselections,providing/updatingimportantcontactinformation,andagreeingtothetermsofenrollmenteachsemester.TheOnlineRegistrationapplicationallowsyouandyouradvisor(s)toselectsubjectsandsubmityourregistration.

WhatistheSequenceofOnlineRegistration?TheOnlineRegistrationProcessproceedsthroughasequenceofsteps.Atsubsequentstagesoftheprocessyouronlineregistrationpassesthroughdifferentstatusdesignations.YoucanfollowtheprocessontheRegistrationStatusTimeline.

Pre-RegistrationtakesplacebeforeOnlineRegistrationbegins.Ifyouhavepre-registered,agreencheckwillshowontheRegistrationStatusTimelineatthefirststep.Ifyouhavenotpre-registeredyoumaystilluseOnlineRegistrationbutyouwillnotseethegreencheck.Freshmendonotpre-register,thereforeyouwillnotseethegreencheckiconforPre-Registration.

1. EditSubjectSelections-AwaitingApproval

AwaitingApprovalmeansthesubjectselectionprocessisinprogress.

Whenonlineregistrationopensforagiventerm,ifyouareeligibletoregisteryouareassignedthestateofAwaitingApproval.Inthisstate,youoryouracademicadvisormayedityoursubjectselections.

2. AdvisorApproval-Approved

ApprovedmeansyouhavemetwithyourAdvisorandyoursubjectselectionsfortheupcomingsemesterhavebeenapproved.OnceApproved,yourselectionsmaynotbealteredintheRegistrationsystem.Tomakechanges,usetheAdd/Drop/Changeprocess.

3. ReviewandSubmitRegistration-Submitted

SubmittedmeansyouhavesentanapprovedsetofsubjectselectionstotheRegistrar.

OncesubjectsareapprovedbyyourAdvisor,youwillcontinuethroughtheSubmitprocesswhichhasafewadditionalsteps.AfteryoucompletetheadditionalstepsandclicktheSubmitbutton,yourregistrationstatebecomesSubmittedandregistrationiscomplete.

HowDoIAccessOnlineRegistration?YouwillaccesstheOnlineRegistrationSystemthroughtheWebSISHomepageaslongasyouareeligibletousethesystemandtheregistrationperiodisopen.AuthenticationishandledthroughTouchstoneandDUOwhereyouareaskedtouseyourCertificateortoenteryourKerberosusernameandpassword.

AfterselectingyourCertificateorenteringyourKerberosusernameandpasswordandverifyingyouridentityviaDUO,youwillseetheOnlineRegistrationHomePage.

Note:IfyouarenoteligibletousetheOnlineRegistrationsystemyouwillseeascreensimilartotheonebelow.Followtheinstructionsinthemessageboxtocontinuetheregistrationprocess.

What'sOnTheHomePage?OntheRegistrationHomepageyouwillseetheRegistrationStatusTimeline,Instructionsforregistering,andyourbiographicalinformation.

WhenyouarriveattheRegistrationHomepageyourscreenwilllooklikethescreenbelow.Ifyouhaveanyholdsonyourrecord,yourscreendisplayadditionalinformation(SeeinformationaboutHoldsonthenextpage.).

[1]TheMenuBarprovidesaccesstheWebSISHomepageortotheSubjectSelectionpage.YoumayalsoaccessHelporLogOff.

[2]TheRegistrationStatusTimelinereferstowhereyouareintheRegistrationprocess.YoubeginattheEditSubjectSelectionstepwhereyoumayaddothersubjectsorchangewhatyouhavealreadyselected.

[3]ItiscriticalthatyoureadtheInstructionswhichcontainimportantinformationabouttheRegistrationprocesssuchastheeffectsoffallingbelowfull-timestatus,resolvingholdsandmeetingdeadlines.

[4]OntheInformationpanelsyoucanedityourhomeandlocaladdressesandemergencycontactinformation.Besuretheyareuptodate.


WhatifThere'saHoldonMyRegistration?IfyouhaveaHoldonyourregistrationyouwillseeayellowboxatthetopoftheHomepagescreenwithinformation.

Eachholdwarningwillexplainwhatyouneedtodonext.Youmayselectyoursubjectsandyouradvisormayapproveyoursubjectselectionswhileyoustillhaveaholdbutyouwillnotbeallowedtosubmityourregistrationuntilallholdsarecleared.

Whenyou'rereadytomoveon,clickEditSubjectSelectionsontheRegistrationStatusTimeline.


MakeYourSubjectSelections

HowDoIUsetheSubjectSelectionsPage?WhenyouclickSubjectSelectionsinthemenuyouwillseetheSubjectSelectionspagewhichshowsinformationaboutallthesubjectsselectedthroughpre-registrationorduringtheOnlineRegistrationprocess.

[1]MessagesTheMessagesareawillshowinformationdirectedindividuallytoyou.Itiscriticalthatyoureadandattendtothesemessages.YouMayopenorclosethismessagewindowbyclickingnexttothewordMessages[+]or[-].

Theexampleimageaboveshowsseveralpossiblemessagesaboutholds,subjectsnotbeingoffered,outstandingworkfromprevioustermsandcreditlimits.Additionalexamplesofmessagesandtheirexplanationsappearonthenextpage.

IntheSubjectSelectionsareayouwillseeyourlistofsubjectswhichyoumayedit.ForthosesubjectswhichpermitchangestoUnitsandGradingOptionsyouwillhaveaccesstomakethosechanges.Youwillreceiveawarningifyouenterinvaliddata.GraduatestudentsonlywillshowacolumnforHGN.

ToRemoveasubjectfromthelistchecktheRemoveboxandclickSaveSelections.

ToAddsubjectsyoucanenterthesubjectnumberintheSearchforSubjectbox,thenclickAddorclickthelinktoViewOnlineSubjectListing.


Note:FreshmanAdvisingSeminarsareassignedbytheUndergraduateAdvisingandAcademicProgramsOffice,andcannotbechangedthroughthisOnlineRegistrationapplication.

AfteryouaddasubjectandclicktheSaveSelectionsbutton,takenoteoftheTotalUnitsandCreditLimit.Manyfactorsaffectthewaycreditlimitsarecalculated.Forexample,subjectswithagradingmodeofListenerandnotincludedincreditlimitcalculations.

Whencreditlimitsareexceeded,awarningiconisdisplayedshowingTotalUnitsofsubjectsselectedandtheCreditLimit.Somesubjects,suchas8.01L,extendintoasecondterm.Inthosecases,halfofthesubject’sunitsareappliedtoonetermforthepurposeofdeterminingifacreditlimitisexceeded.Inthesecases,theterm“UnitsAppliedtoCreditLimit”willappear.

What'sLefttoDoAfterIMakeMySubjectSelections?Afteryouhaveadjustedyoursubjectselections,youandyouradvisorwillmeet.OnceyourAdvisorapprovesyourselectionsyoumaycontinuewiththefinalstepsintheRegistrationprocess.YouwillreceiveanemailmessagewhenyouradvisorapprovesyoursubjectselectionsintheOnlineRegistrationsystem.

FromtheHomepageclickReviewandSubmitRegistration.Youwillhavefourstepstofollowtocompleteyourregistration.

YoumayproceedthroughthesestepsbyclickingtheNextbutton.TheRegistrationStatusTimelinewillmarkyourprogressthroughthesteps.
