4. LOADINGS The dead load of components of the structure shall be estimated based on the material properties detailed in the above sections. For assessment of self-weight and dead load calculations, the following densities shall be considered:

Reinforced Concrete 25.0 kN / m3

Lightweight concrete 18.5 kN / m3

Soil 19.0 kN / m3

Water 10.0 kN / m3

SETTLEMENT AND DEFLECTION:

Expected settlements would be within allowable limits of 50mm for the bearing capacity for the raft

foundation, while differential settlement shall be considered up to 75% of the total settlement.

Allowable deflection is L/250.

DESIGN METHODS:

Design generally for the structure will be based on the recommendation of American standard ACI-

318M-08 for concrete works and AISC-360-05 for steel works.

Element design will be carried out using conventional techniques together with where appropriate the

use of computer aided design package.
