Council of Catholic Women
Join us the third Tuesday of each month, September thru May for Mass at 7:00 P.M., followed by a 7:30 P.M. meeting and light refreshments.
Are you registered in the parish? Please do not take for granted that you are registered in the parish just because you attend mass here. If we have no record of your parish membership it could be quite embarrassing to us, or to you or your family, when someone wishes to make wedding plans, have a baby baptized, or if you have been asked to act as a sponsor for baptism or confirmation. Please fill out a census form, which is located at the entrances of the Multi Celebrational Building (MCB), and mail it to the parish office, or place it in the collection basket.
Baptism
Baptisms are celebrated on Sunday after the 12:00 Noon Mass. Parents must be registered and active members of the parish for at least three months. No confirmed dates are given before approval by the pastor. Contact the parish office two months in advance. Godparents must be confirmed, practicing, Roman Catholics and must obtain a sponsor certificate from their parish. In order to avoid disappointments, do not book travel plans with family, Godparents, etc. until a confirmed date has been assigned through the parish office (561) 966-8878.
Marriages
Notify the parish office at least four months in advance.
Ministrations to the Sick
We appreciate knowing when a parishioner is in the hospital or homebound. Please call the parish office.
If there is one word that stands out in today's readings, it is "covenant." God's faithfulness and goodness serve as examples to us of how to live. Genesis tells the story of Noah and of God's covenant not only with all people, but with all of nature. Never will the cleansing waters of the flood bring their destructive power to all the earth again. The sign, the reminder to both God and nature, is the rainbow in the heavens.
The psalm reminds us of this compassion of God, and begs God to remember us, not because of our goodness, but because of God's goodness and fidelity to the promise. God shows us how to be good, not by decree, but by example.
God's covenant with Noah when he was delivered from the flood (Genesis 9:8-15).
Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant (Psalm 25).
The water of the flood prefigured baptism, which saves you now (1 Peter 3:18-22).
This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand (Mark 1:12-15).

Office of THE BISHOP
February 16, 2018
Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito Bishop of Palm Beach
The C.C.W.’s Paul Todd & Friends Concert & Dinner was
a great success! We are thankful to all supporters of this event, and grateful to all
who volunteered.
During Lent, we are asked to devote ourselves to seeking the Lord in prayer and reading Scripture, to service by giving alms, and to sacrifice self-control through fasting. If you are unclear about the fasting, here are the Church’s guidelines: Catholics between the ages of 18 & 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old & older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent. Fasting as explained by the U.S. bishops means partaking of only one full meal. Some food (not equaling another full meal) is permitted at breakfast and around midday or in the evening - depending on when a person chooses to eat the main or full meal. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not of eggs, milk products or condiments made of animal fat.
Doors open at 5:30 P.M., Games begin at 6:30 P.M.
We need volunteers!
Join our friendly staff on Thursday evenings.
Please contact the parish office during business hours
MEMORIAL PAVERS At a cost of $50, a memorial brick paver can be placed in the prayer garden by the Blessed Virgin Grotto, located outside the east doors of the MCB. Order forms are available at the entrances to the MCB and in the parish office during business hours.
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
Every priest cherishes the words of the Savior, “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father my name, he shall give to you” (John 15:16). From within our own Diocese, from other states, and from far away countries, men have been called to serve the people of God here in the Diocese of Palm Beach. They leave behind their homes and their families and are welcomed into your homes and families. In so many ways they embody the title, Father, as they share in life’s journey with you.
As many of you worry about taking care of your families as they age, so we are also challenged to take care of our family of faith, our Fathers in faith. Through the Retirement Fund for Religious we take care of the religious men and women who served in our parishes and schools, and by the Diocesan Retired Priests Collection, we care for our Fathers in faith when either age or infirmity prevents them from living out their priestly calling.
Thank you for the care and love that you continuously show to the priests of the Diocese of Palm Beach. Your kindness provides them with a spiritual family in their parish ministry and fills their life with warmth and compassion. When they can no longer minister in the parish your spiritual and material generosity provides them with care and comfort. May God bless you for the joy that you bring to our Fathers in faith.
With gratitude for your continued generosity and every prayerful wish, I am
