Council of Catholic Women
Join us the third Tuesday of each month, September thru May for Mass at 7:00 P.M., followed by a 7:30 P.M. meeting and light refreshments.
Are you registered in the parish? Please do not take for granted that you are registered in the parish just because you attend mass here. If we have no record of your parish membership it could be quite embarrassing to us, or to you or your family, when some-one wishes to make wedding plans, have a baby baptized, or if you have been asked to act as a sponsor for baptism or confirmation. Please fill out a census form, which is located at the entrances of the Multi Celebrational Building (MCB), and mail it to the parish office.
Baptism
Baptisms are celebrated on Sunday after the 12:00 Noon Mass. Parents must be registered and active members of the parish for at least three months. No confirmed dates are given before approval by the pastor. Contact the parish office two months in advance. Godparents must be confirmed, practicing, Roman Catholics and must obtain a sponsor certificate from their parish. In order to avoid disappointments, do not book travel plans with family, Godparents, etc. until a confirmed date has been assigned through the parish office (561) 966-8878.
Marriages
Notify the parish office at least four months in advance.
Ministrations to the Sick
We appreciate knowing when a parishioner is in the hospital or homebound. Please call the parish office.
HOPE AND FORGIVENESS
There were some interesting conceptions of sin prevalent in the time of the Hebrew scriptures. There was the belief that God punished sin immediately. Those who suffered disease or misfortune were, therefore, sinners getting
their due from the Almighty.
Today's first reading hints at another kind of God. When David admits his sin, Nathan declares, "The LORD on his part has forgiven your sin" (2 Samuel 12:13b). Here was not a vengeful God but a merciful God. What good news that must have been to David and those who, like him, could be honest enough to admit their sinfulness!
Jesus is the good news of God's mercy and forgiveness incarnate. Without Jesus, perhaps the good news would have been too good to believe, too difficult to imagine. But there he is in today's Gospel, the God-man, forgiving a sinner and declaring that she is forgiven because of her
great love.
There is hope, then, for the rest of us sinners, if only we love enough!

St. Matthew Men’s Club St. Matthew Men’s Club is a ministry of St. Matthew Parish, open to all adult male members of the parish, that pro-vides an atmosphere for fostering Chris-tian fellowship and a sense of communi-ty among the men of the parish aimed at strengthening family life in our parish. We serve as a support group and pro-vide a structure to assist with various parish religious celebrations, social events and parish service projects.
St. Matthew Church welcomes Father Gabriel Amal Costa, PIME, who will be visiting our parish on June 25th & June 26th to present the mission appeal on behalf of the PIME Missionaries.
The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME) is a Missionary Institute of priests and brothers who dedicate their lives to the mission among non-Christians in seventeen countries. They strive to be creative in their missionary presence, proclaiming the Gospel and promoting dialogue and understanding among the poorest of the poor, they are engaged in human development, the promotion of peace, and the pas-toral care of newly founded Catholic communities.
Father Gabriel is from Narayanganj, Bangladesh. He finished university studies in Economics in 1986, at Dhaka University, Bangladesh and worked as a research and evaluation officer at World Vision (NGO) in Bangladesh from 1987 to 1991. He became a PIME seminarian in September 1991 and studied Theology in Italy from 1991 to 1997. He made his final promise as a member of PIME in Milan, Italy on October 12th, 1996 and was ordained a priest in Dhaka, Bangladesh on October 24th, 1997. Father Gabriel learned French in Belgium before working as missionary priest in the Ivory Coast from 1997 to 2003. From September 2003 to June 2006 he was Vice Rector of PIME’s International Theological Seminary, later being appointed as Rector. He is currently working as General Councilor in PIME’s General Directorate in Rome, Italy.
Please note, the second collection on July 16th and July 17th will be for the PIME Mission.
A Prayer for the Missions
God our Father, You will that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. Send workers into your great harvest, that the Gospel may be preached to every creature, and that your people, gathered together by the word of life, and strengthened by the power of the sacraments, may advance in the way of salvation and love. Amen

Attention High School Students
The Franciscan University of Steubenville is hosting a summer conference for high school youth at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida, from July 22nd through July 24th. The nonrefundable registration fee for the conference is $179 per person and the hotel fee is $144 per room, per night. The week-end consists of workshops, a keynote speaker, Eucharistic ado-ration, reconciliation and the celebration of the Eucharist.
Please call Suzanne at (561) 966-8878 for more information. Just before He died on the cross, Jesus said “I thirst.” Assuming He wanted something to drink, the soldier standing guard by the cross gave Our Lord a sponge dipped in bitter wine. But Jesus wasn’t thirsting for something to drink. Instead, His statement should be interpreted as “I thirst… for souls!” Jesus is thirsty for your soul – at the 2016 Steubenville Youth Conferences, we will all have an opportunity to give our souls to Christ, who so desperately thirsts for them.
Please consider volunteering in our Religious Education Program.
We are always in need of teachers and aides. High School Students who have received their confirma-tion are welcome to be aides and gain service hours.
Contact Debbie at (561) 966-1538 for additional information.
Prayer for Protection from Storms
God our Father,
Creator of the Universe and Lord over all creation, we humbly stand before you as your children and ask that you keep us safe from all hurricanes and storms which may threaten us.
Protect us from all fear and anxiety of storms and give us an ardent trust and hope in Your love and mercy.
You alone have the power to command the sea, the wind and the rain. You alone bring peace, calm, and safety.
Father, we thank you in advance, for you are our only Refuge.
We ask this through Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Queen of the Apostles, and Patroness of our Diocese, pray for us.
