    * Second Collection: Bishop Pates asks parishes to hold an emergency collection to provide

    financial aid for those devastated by Hurricane Harvey and the unprecedented rain dumped

    on Texas. Donations can also be made on line at dmdiocese.org/giving.cfm.

    * RURAL LIFE MASS celebrated by Bishop Richard Pates and sponsored by St. Bernard

    Adoration is Thursday, September 21st from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at St. Patricks, Walnut.

    Knights of Columbus meeting is Thursday, September 21st beginning with a Rosary

    at 7:00 p.m. and meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Avoca Legion Hall..

    St. Patricks Fall Dinner is Sunday, September 24th. It will be held in the

    Walnut Legion Hall from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Staleys Chicken Dinner will be served.

    ST. MARYS FALL DINNER Sign-Up Sheets are in the entry way of church. Please stop and

    sigh up for a food item to bring and a time to work at the dinner.

    ST. MARYS FALL DINNER: We are still in need of prizes for the Main Raffle for our fall

    DCYC 2017 (Diocesan Catholic Youth Council) We are Boldly Sent is Sunday, October 22nd at

    ST. PATRICKS FALL FESTIVAL, Dunlap, IA is 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. is today, Sunday,

    September 10th. There will be games, country store, cake walk, silent auction, and Staleys

    Broasted Chicken.

    DONT FORGET TO REGISTER!! St. Marys/St. Patricks Womens retreat titled Extreme

    Makeover will be held at the Helen Juelsgaard barn from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday,

    September 30th. The retreat will be a reflective time to look at some needed changes in our lives.
