  • N.L. CENTRAL CHAMPIONS: The 2019 N.L. Central Champion St. Louis Cardinals concluded their 128th season of play by winning their 12th N.L. Central title and their first since 2015...the Cardinals took over sole pos- session of first place following their win on August 23 and held it for the remainder of the season, edging Milwaukee by 2.0 games.

    AN ERA OF EXCELLENCE: Under the ownership of Bill DeWitt, Jr. and his partners, the Cardinals have posted a 2,131-1,755 (.548) record since 1996, advancing to the postseason 14 times. The Cardinals were N.L. Champions in 2004, 2006, 2011 and 2013 and captured their 10th World Championship in 2006 and their 11th World title in 2011. The Cardinals 74 postseason wins since 1996 are 2nd in the majors, behind only the Yankees (109). The Cardinals have advanced to the postseason in seven (2009, ‘11, ‘12, ‘13, ‘14, ‘15, ‘19) of their 12 seasons (2008-19) under President of Baseball Operations John “Mo” Mozeliak.

    LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: The Cardinals are taking part in their 14th National League Championship Series and their 10th since 2000...their 14 LCS appearances are 2nd all-time, trailing only the NY Yankees (16)... St. Louis has won seven of its 13 previous NLCS with five of them going to a seventh and final game...the Cardinals swept Atlanta 3-0 in the old best-of five LCS format, but aside from that, each of their LCS have gone at least five games...the Cardinals are 4-2 in NLCS when they hold home field advantage...overall, the Cardinals are 38-39 (.494 win pct.) in NLCS games, including a 25-12 (.676) mark at home & 13-27 (.325) in road games...St. Louis is 133-119 all-time in the postseason.

    AGAINST THE EAST: The Cardinals are 5-2 in postseason series in which they were matched up against NL East Division representatives, including a 1-2 mark in the NLCS...they Cards defeated the New York Mets, 4-3, in the 2006 NLCS in route to their 10th World Series and lost the NLCS in 1996 to Atlanta (3-4) and in 2000 to the Mets (1-4).
