Globe on Tour Presents

Taming of the ShrewDirected by: Joe Murphy

It’s that time of year again where we welcome back the Globe Theatre on Tour with their latest outdoor production of “Taming of the Shrew” to the grounds of St Donats Castle.

Two wealthy sisters in Padua must be married off. The modest, demure Bianca has no shortage of suitors, but who on earth will take the wild, ungovernable ‘shrewish’ Katherina? Perhaps the gold-digging Petruchio, as maddeningly strong-willed and perverse as Katherina herself, will be equal to the task of bullying her to the altar.

Starring one of theatre’s great screwball double-acts, a couple hell-bent on confusing and outwitting each other right up to its controversial conclusion.

The lawns will be open before hand to enjoy a pre-performance picnic for a perfect summer’s outing. Please make sure you bring your own seating!

Brewin Dolphin is proud to sponsor this performance of The Taming of the Shrew

Please note this event is on Bank Holiday Monday this year!

Tickets: £18 & £16 concessions_________________________________

The Elephant Bridesmaid by Steven LeeThere are no Elephants in Australia. Well, no elephants except this one… Based on a story from the best selling book “How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales” The Elephant Bridesmaid is a magical musical about weddings and wombats and the loveliest elephant the world has ever known. This delightful show has just the right balance of games, songs and confidence building interaction to feed your children’s imaginations and encourage their engagement with learning.

So join Nessie the elephant and her fantastic animal friends and help them as they go in search of an outfit fancy enough (and large enough) to make her the Australian jungle’s first and most beautiful Elephant Bridesmaid! This production focuses on the theme of the 3 R’s - reduce, reuse and recycle. For ages 4 and up. ( Key Stage 1 & early Key Stage 2)

“A trunkload of fun that will leave you and your children feeling warm and snuggly all over.” The Guide.

Tickets: £5 1 teacher in 10 goes free. _________________________________
