HIGHLIGHTS 1. City's Inaugural Shuttle Services during Nights of Lights

2. Busy 13 Day Schedule

• Saturdays through December, and

• Daily between Christmas Day and New Year's Day

3. Francis Field was not used for temporary parking

4. Shuttle drew a grand total of 11,170 passengers and parked 3,723 vehicles in satellite parking lots

5. Total Cost was $71,460

HIGHLIGHTS 1. Shuttle Bus Headways

1. Planned Headways were 20 minutes

2. Actual Headways averaged 13 minutes

2. Peak Traffic Congestion and Peak Passenger Demand was 4:00pm to 8:00pm

3. Old Town Trolleys provided free shuttle buses during initial day on "Light Up Night", November 191h. (Buses not trolleys)

4. Round Trip bus travel time for North Shuttle Loop

a. During Peak Congestion averaged 51 minutes

b. During Off-Peak times averaged 24 minutes

LESSONS LEARNED 1. Initially did not provide enough Shuttle buses.

2. Need bigger buses, especially during peak demand which coincided with peak traffic congestion. (used 30 and 45 passenger buses)

3. Traffic Congestion

a. Terrible Congestion along San Marco Avenue, shuttles avoided.

b. Bad along USl from W. Castillo to SR16

4. Very light traffic along US 1 and San Marco north of SRI 6

5. Light traffic on SR312.

6. Create initial schedule and stick to it.

7. Personnel do not like to work Christmas eve and New Year's eve.
