Scriptural Reflections on Stewardship

On the Feast of All Souls we pray for those who have gone before us and stand

in judgment before God. May we share with one another the treasure of love’s memory, and con-sole one another with the assurance of resurrec-tion.

Every Tuesday, the Blessed Sacrament is ex-

posed in the church from 3 to 4 p.m. It is an hour of prayer for the priests, reli-gious men and women and an increase of vocations to the priesthood and the reli-gious life of the Church.

We invite you to come and spend time with the Lord for these intentions and for your personal requests. Holy Hour closes with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION

Through the “New Energies Project” established by the Archdiocese of Newark with the coopera-tion of parishes in our local Deanery, the par-ishes of St. Anne’s, St. Nicholas and St. Paul of the Cross have a combined Food Pantry located

at St. Nicholas Rectory.

We thank all those who have been bringing in food for the Food Pantry. It’s greatly appreciated. All of this recent food donated will be put towards the Thanksgiving Food Collection and will be distrib-uted to our needy parishioners for Thanksgiving

Baskets. These baskets will be distributed from St. Nicholas rectory, as it was done last year.

Please continue your food donations by placing them in the ‘food receptacle’ located in the church vestibule. All food items need to be NON-PERISHABLE. Again, Thank you!

Annual Mothers’ Guild Luncheon The Mothers’ Guild of Hudson Catholic High School will hold its annual luncheon on Sunday, No-

Bible Study Father Titus Njoku offers a Bible Class to all

Annual Blue Mass Archbishop Myers will celebrate the annual

Blue Mass in honor of Law Enforcement at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. (all are asked to be in place by 9:30 a.m. for the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem). Both active and retired law enforcement personnel and their families are invited to the Mass.

ALL NIGHT COMMUNION REPARATION VIGIL

There will be an All Night Communion Reparation Vigil to honor The Most Sacred Heart Of Jesus and The Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, Novem-ber 7-8, 2008. The event starts at 8:30 PM with Confession / Reconciliation, Holy Mass at 9:00 PM and at 5:00 AM Saturday. The month of November is dedicated to All Faithfully Departed with All Souls Day being celebrated on November 2nd. This day, especially, is a traditional time for visiting graves of loved ones. For this reason, we ask that you take time to please remember to fill in the names of your dearly

departed family members and friends whom you would like to have remembered during the Masses of the All Souls Novena as well as during the Masses offered over the balance of the month of November. Please put envelopes in the depository next to altar marked “All Souls” or in the

collection basket on Sunday so they may be placed on the altar.

Acerquémonos pues, al Evangelio para descubrir la hondura y profundidad de su amor.

ANNULMENT INFORMATION

An Annulment Information Evening is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2008. A canon lawyer from the Archdiocese of Newark will dis-cuss the most recent theology, guidelines and re-quirements for obtaining a Church annulment.
