SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND

MAY 19TH & 20TH

One of our faith community families has had a tragedy

in their lives. The Ben & Shannon Herda Family

along with parents John & Patti Herda lost their dairy

barn last week in a large fire. The Parish extends to

them good wishes and prayers in the recovery process.

We have thought that it would be very helpful if our

parishes took up a collection next weekend to present

to the family as they work through their process of

restoration. Please consider giving to this cause next

weekend. If you are unable to give monetarily, please

keep the Herda family in your prayers over the next

months as they decide what the future will be in their

dairy business. St. Alphonsus Parish Finance Council

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CORNER

THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

Today as we celebrate the feast of the Ascension we are reminded that Christ’s saving work on earth continues through his disciples…and now through us. When we give to the poor, God indeed pours his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into our lives and into the hearts of those who are poor. Over the next few weeks we will share some of the core values that define the ministry of our members.

The dignity of the human person

Identification of Jesus with the poor The preferential option of the poor – Create conditions for

marginalized voices to be heard, to defend the defenseless, and to assess lifestyles, policies and social institutions in terms of their impact on the poor.

If you know someone living in our parish who would benefit from speaking with St. Vincent de Paul, please refer them to our phone number 262-877-2557 ext 231.
