18 Greater Kashmir SRINAGAR | June 4, 2016, Saturday Unemployed physical education aspirants to register protest Srinagar, June 3: The unemployed Physical Educa- tion Youth intend to register protest on June 6, Monday at Partap Park at 12 to press their long pending demands. The association accused the coalition government of backing out of promises made by the former Chief Minister, Mufti Muhamamd Sayeed. According to the association, late Mufti Sayed had promised to implement Rehbar-e-Khel in Jammu Kashmir. The secretary of the asso- ciation, Showkat Khan has urged the aspirants to par- ticipate in the protest and make it a success. He said the protest shall be held first at press Enclave and later at CM’s residence. The final was played between, RP School and Standard Public School Alamgiri Bazar. Batting first Standard scored 54 runs for the loss of three wickets in allotted 10 overs. Chasing the target of 55 runs RP School were able to score only 45 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 10 overs. JK teenage boy, Kamran shines for champions North Zone Srinagar, June 3: The Under-16 crick- eter of Valley, Kamran Iqbal shined in the Inter-Zone cricket tournament helping North Zone to emerge out as champions in the event. Showing his heroics Kamran Iqbal helped North Zone to win BCCI U16 zonal tournament at Hubli Karnatka after scoring a magnificent 210 runs in his four innings in the tournament. The resident of downtown area of Safa Kadal scored 37, 24, 68 and 81 against West, South , Central and East zones respectively. The young opener plays for Kash- mir Gymkhana and scored 350 for J&K in his maiden U-16 nationals last year. The J&K U-16 opener is ranked at 3 among other U16 openers, and has a good chance of making to India U16 team this year. Kamran played for Pride Riders last year in DCL 2015. CEO Downtown Champions League Naseer Bhat has congratulated Kamran for his brilliant performance. “On behalf of entire fraternity of Downtown Champions league I con- gratulate Kamran and wish him best for future games. In the female section, Women’s College, MA Road retained the title once again after having won it on previous two occasions. The college bagged five gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the championship. Mymoona, Bisma, Hadiya, Uzma and Insha bagged gold medals while as Aneesa and Bisma Altaf bagged silver. Shafiya, Sameera and Shaista bagged bronze medals. Amar Singh College emerged overall winner in male section, bagging four gold, four silver and four bronze medals. For College, Umer Gani, Zahid Farooq, Ubaid Yousuf and Ahmad Ismail bagged gold medals while as Zeeshan Alui, Anzar Sofi, Raja Sameer and Rehan Indrabi bagged silver medals. Srinagar, June 3: Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Ghat lifted the title trophy of All India 12th Gufran Memo- rial T20 Cricket Cham- pionship by thrashing Raina Cricket Club (RCC) Bhaderwah by six wickets in the final held at Sports Stadium Doda on Friday. The tournament was organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by J&K Police, J&K Bank and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda. After winning the toss, RCC Bhaderwah opted to bat first. They made 152 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 19.4 overs. Satish top scored with 62 runs fol- lowed by Vishwajeet who contributed 33 runs for the team. From FCC Ghat, Kartik and Rahul Sharma shared 03 wickets. In reply, FCC Ghat team managed to chase down the stipulated target in 15.4 overs for the loss of 04 wick- ets. Hardeep Singh was the highest scorer who scored 88 runs while Gourav Gambhir contributed 32 runs. From RCC Bhader- wah, Satish scalped 02 wickets while Rohit Sharma took 01 wicket.
