    Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Aksayananda is there?Devotee: There is a question concerning those who have taken sanyasa from other Gaudiya acaryaswhether they accept Swami Maharaja Prabhupada and will they be allowed to preach in ISKCON?Srila Sridhara Maharaja: ( Sanskrit verse) full fledged theism that request us to change our angle of vision to meet the future as well as the present. Optimisim is ourgoal that we must try to bring to draw within our own self the optimistic attitude to meet theoptimistic outside. Then can obtain complete liberation from the hands of miscalculation. Mayameans miscalculation. Optimism for optimistic enviornment mst be good under the guidence of theabsolute. And I must be also ( ) with some attitude optimism. From my birth pessimism has beenencouraged. ( sanskrit verse) Whatever undesireable things you find within me, that is due to my

    previous mal-adjusted activities. And this the policy by which we can finish the undesireable activityin us. Non-encouragement, that attitude what cannot help me in the adjustment with thecircumstances, that element just not be encouraged. So, ( sanskrit ) that should be considered thereesult of my previous undesireable activities. The remanent vanish as soon as possbile. The bestway is to discourage that anomally within you. That cannot help me adjust with the most tryingcircumstances. What if a general endowed with special capacities he can devise special ways andmeans if he is surrounded by the enemy forces in any well arranged way, he can make out the wayfor his own forces. There lies the speciality for the general. So, this way how ever we are surroundedwe think by the enemy force the tactics given, the lessons given by the Bhagavatam ; be friendly,then you will find some immediate real help is comming to you. Don't be discouraged. ( sanskrit )because your sacrifice won't be wasted. Suhrdham sarva bhutanam jnatva mam santim rcchati . The

    final dispenser, He is my friend. The final descision is in His hand, He is my friend so I shouldn't beafraid of anything. Go with the sense of my duty, duty consciousness. Concetrate ourselves in dutyconsciousness. ( sanskrit verse) concentrate you whole energy to understand and perform your duty.

    That is expected in you and that will be your best key to success of life. And it is universal, not onlyfor you, for everyone it is so. Concentrate your whole, concentrate wholly only you are to understandwhat is your duty and what it is necessary to do your duty. Within that limit you keep yourself and doit to your best capcity. Do it to understand that is what is required of you. And the rest on Me, theLord says. Rest is with Me and I am friendly to all; I am not traitor to anybody. So you may havereliance on Me and go on with your duty consciousness. Great advice, general advice. Hope to thehopeless, courage to the afraid, this is very nectar of life. ( sanskrit verse) Very soon you will find thatyou are not surrounded by your enemies, you are liberated.Act within the living present with heart within and God over head. That is bhakti and we want to getbhakti . We want, we have come out to aquire devotion, the faithfulness. To aquire faith, faithfulsoldiers of the almighty, of the Absolute Authority. Faith is our life, faith is everything. Faith in Himthat is everything to us, go on. Go on. We want Him only and nothing else. No compromise, nocompromise only with Him. Not any other proposal that may tempt me to some other direction. Butwholesale faith towards Him and out of that consciousness what sense of duty will come within me onmy part I am I must discharge that. The rest on Him. The rest on my guardian. And I am to performmy duty. As I can understand this is the desire of my guardian. In this way. So we are soldier,

    soldiers for enternity we may say. Die to live, soldiers in eternity. Eternal life. Particularcircumstances may face us but we need not allow us to be tempted by any particular good results.Eternal principal we must follow. What we have got from my gurudeva, gurudeva, from Mahaprabhu,Bhagavatam that Krsna consciousness that is not any partial truth. Not any time serving necessity.But we are eternally weded to that. Once for all we have given us to the universal truth. And weshall go on, go on by the call we hear from Bhagavatam and Mahaprabhu, gurudeva , march on. Only

    one road and slogan for Krsna's pleasure. For the satisfaction of Krsna we are out to do anythingand everything. One slogan, Krsna santosa, satisfaction of Krsna, the Absolute Lord, absolutemaster, the absolute good, what we are given to understand. We are to adjust accordingly in theroad. And they ask me whether it will lead me toward that road so I sincerely ask to me and whatanswer I shall get I shall do that. I won't be betrayor to my own dictation of my own consciousspiritual. That will be our path, we may not be betrayor to our spiritual conscious. According to ourown standard, own capacity, own stage this will be the general way. And never, nehabhikrama-naso'sti pratyavayo na vidyate svalpam apy asya dharmasya trayate mahato bhayat . The danger willdispurse.

    Taste should be there to indicate my progress so it will not be cowed down. We may ask my ownconscious what to do. And whatever I shall find in my inner voice, sincere, na hi kalyana-krt kascid durgatim tata gacchati the assurance is given there. We are to adjust accordingly. According to ourcapacity and understanding so we may not have to mourn that I neglected my inner voice and I havecome here.Melton said doth God labor exact day light denied? He is such injustice he may remain with God. Hewants labor that can only be done in day time. When Milton was blind in his sonnet, his sonnet withedit "doth God exact day labor light denied? Is He so much unjust that He will demand labor from methat can only be done in daytime with light? And he will ask me to do in darkness what can only bedone in day in light, with the help of light? So no injustice of such order can remain with Him. Asmuch light given to me with the help of that light how much I can see, I shall do that. More than thatmay be required of me that is necessary for me at present. So knowing the possiblity of injustice

    from His side perhaps we are to dive deep into our heart to inquire 'what is my inner necessity?' Insuch case, such circumstances what shall be my duty? Enlighten me about my own duty perhapssuch hazy circumstances sometimes come surround us.Faith will help us to come out with flying color under any eventuallity. In this infinite universe onlyfaith to Him, that can save us. The highest intellegence will only take us to that sort of understanding. Otherwise we are lost however big it is only an infintesimal part of the whole. So onecannot be proud of his magnitude. How ever greater it may seem that is only a negligable part of the universe. So between small and big there is not much difference. Only those that depend on thewhole they are gainer. Otherwise big and small the difference is very small. To take refuge to thehighest authority that is to be faithful to His dispensal. That is the best policy recomended byBhagavatam.

    vipadah santu tah sasvat tatra tatra jagad-guro bhato darsanam yat syad apunar bhava-darsanam .Kunti devi inviting dangerous position so that only in danger we can collect our attention to thehighes degree to search for the answer. To search for Him who can give relife to us. We canconcentrate, we are compelled to concentrate our intellegence the most when we are in danger. So,Kunti devi says that danger is my friend. I want danger. I will overcome danger how? Helplessly Iam to approach to Krsna with the highest possible attention. So I have calculated and I have seen, itis finished that danger is my friend because I can be best attentive to pray for the help of Krsna . Sodeeper vision of the circumstances they are comming to help us in our position. Danger is no danger

    if we have faith in Him whose forgetfulness is only danger and no danger. We admit no danger butthe forgetfulness of Krsna , that is only danger, maya . Maya is only danger, forgetfulness of Krsna .Forgetfulness of our guardian, of our well-wisher,guardian that is the only danger. No other dangershould we admit. So whatever will encourage me to be nearer to my guardian that is my friend. Weshall try to understand this line of help. Krsna is our friend and non- Krsna is our danger. Andsimplicity but not diplomacy can give us Krsna . ( sanskrit verse) What is necessary is our sincere

    hankering and not diplomatic.Krsna anusandhana as Mahaprabhu said. Brahma jijnasa and krsna anusandhana. Whole attemptshould resolve into this general current. All current of inquisitiveness come into one flow and that iskrsna anusandhana . The quest, the search for Krsna . That is only one campaign in whatever formwe may do it. Search for Krsna and sincereity in the search is the best qualification. Nothing else.Must be true to our own self, our own search whether I am after something else, Krsna or non- Krsna .We must ask to us clearly. And according to the answer we shall move.Krsna anusandhana, (sanskrit verse) Where is my Lord of heart? Prana natha who can satisfy thequench of, who can quench the thirst of my inner most heart prana natha . And who can supplyvitality with His losing fighting with the circumstances ( sanskrit verse) He is Vrajendranandan , noother conception of Godhead but the sustainer of life, supplier of vitality. Who can strenghten myheart, my existance? Prana natha, Vrajendranandan Krsna not in any other form. Vrajendranandandivne love dealer. That is His nature, He is dealing with love divine, prema, attraction, charm beauty,Vrajendranandan (sanskrit verse) and He has got His flute divine. The tune of which, the sound of which is always trying to adjust us, to call us to attend our respective duties. To help us, to guide usto the respective service, the flute. The sound encouraging everyone to take position of His naturalservice. Service is self determination, the cause is helping self determination. Giving the properadjustment in everyone's own respective duty, the tune, the sound. Vrajendranandan (sanskrit verse) loving and affectionate call to attend our respective duty in the adjusted infinite. Mahaprabhushowed the way, come in this way. Always being eager to catch the suggestion of His flute. From thesound of His flute where to join your duty. Where to join your duty in general or particular time and

    place. The guidance will come from His flute and sweet flute. Sweet sound of His flute, not falsesound, but sweet sound, sweet call will encourage you to attend your duty. I want that master, thatmaster Vrajendranandan , I am searching for Him. Mahaprabhu went on the way, advanced Himself and told us all to follow Him. ( sanskrit verse) He is master of my life, Vrajendranandan (sanskrit verse) the general call. The general sound of the flute of Krsna is such and we have to listen to thatand begin our journey towards infinite land of love. We have all come out of our own respective caseof different types and ( ) prossesion leading towards Vrndavana. A prossesion towards Vrndavanaso many want to go.

    The end of side 'A'Srila Sridhara Maharaja: The land of our dream. Do or die. If I get that it is alright that one call.What is the benifit of life? We are out, sarva dharma parityaja mam ekam saranam vraja . Vraja,

    not gacha . The hint is there a particular type of ornimental suggestion. Sarva dharma parityaja Iam going to issue such an order. But where is the goal? It is that Vraja and nowhere else. Nowheresarva dharma parityaja , it is only found in Vraja. That is where, without carring for the laws and thesociety and so many dear and near, absolutly given to My cause. Their whole faith, their wholefortune given to Me. Only in Vrndavan, Vraja, you can find that and nowhere else. mam ekamsaranam vraja, aham tvam sarva papebhyo moksayisyami ma sucah. Ultimately you will see that youwill above all. ma sucah . No room for any repentance you will have, you will be able to realize. No

    offer will be higher in this whole world. You will be able to feel that. raso 'py asya param drstvanivartate . No temptation can snatch you from that level of life. It is such moksayisyami ma sucah .Yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna' -upadesa amara ajnaya guru hana tara ei desa . The campagin was of such universal character that no condition was attached to that such a wide universal. The call wasof such nature.Devotee: Jet, jet fighter.

    Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Fighter?Devotee: Jet fighter, yes.Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Jet fighter? They are busy to show, make show that we have got jet fighter.

    There is a sanskrit poetry ( sanskrit ) the frog is jumping. ( sanskrit ) Then a serpent is pursuing thatfrog. ( sanskrit ) Then one peacock he is running after the serpent. Then peacock's ( sanskrit ) Thenone hunter he is also following the peacock to catch him. Then ( sanskrit ) Then one tiger is runningafter the hunter. Then ( sanskrit ) Then time is following them all to devour. Kala, maha kala that isrepresented by Siva . Siva, maha kala, factor of time and space. We are acustomed to think in termsof time and space desa, kala , space and time because we do not know what is eternity. The soul is amember of the soil which is eternal and then deviated conception of the soul. That is member of thismundane time and space, ahankara . ( sanskrit ) our consciousness focused outside. Outside in thismaterial world. But our real soil of living in the realm of soul. We have to withdraw from thenegative side of mortal aspect of our thought. If we can withdraw from it to our own self, atmarama,atmaramas ca munayo nirgrantha apy urukrame. What is necessary to withdraw from the negativeconception of our own representation, identity. This is partial, this is negative side, this is mukti .(sanskrit verse) masked so much in the negative life. So we draw our identification, self consciousness to the plain of soul and then try to march on on the positive side. Paramatma ,supersubjective area. Supersubjective area from the standpoint of consciousness, supersubjective.But super -love from the standpoint, super sympathy. Super sympathy where the whole life love oneanother and tries to be useful to one another. Here everyone want to maintain his existance at thecost of others, killing so many animals he can keep up his own body, mind, everything here.

    Otherwise it is impossible, without exploitation one cannot stand in this plane. But there self-distribution, not exploitation. The soul's upper, from soul to upper. Not supersubjective but supersympathtic, super loving, that is this affection. From the standpoint of affection that is also superiorto superior.So, generally the call from that land will come to us: "Any how runaway from the dangerous zone!"Come away, yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa amara ajnaya , I say intimate anyone everyone'come out to the safe position'. That was the imparitive call of Mahaprabhu . Danger that isunderground always (Bengali)gunpowder, something like that. And so anyhow through any agenttake them out of the dangerous position and the safe position is Krsna. yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna' ,as I told that education minister of Madras. I saw him I am going to visit your land to preach, I wantone recomendation letter from you. That man told ' Oh, Swamiji, you don't know the language of my

    district then what will you do going there?'I replied that 'Suppose I have gone your district and passing by a tank. And suppose one boy isdrowning. Should I go to learn your language and then to inform the boy is drowning? We feel somuch urgency. That everyone is dying every moment, every second, and we have come to helpthem with that sort of urgency. So I shall try to find one translator, mediator (Bengali) anyhow onewho will translate.Devotee: Interpretor.

    Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Not interpretor but anyhow I shall secure and what I have to say I shall saythen. With such urgency we are traveling the length and breadth of the country. Not wasting timefor learning language and then to say that you are in danger, what is this?So, yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna' -upadesa amara ajnaya guru hana tara ei desa. Mahaprabhu's callwas such urgent. He felt any how which they are in danger and this was their hope.Our Guru Maharaja began with such mad intensity. ( sanskrit name) babhu told me that this Kunja

    babhu , Prabhupada was almost alone at that time in Caitanya Math, and ( sanskrit name) babhu andKunja babhu went to see him after the samadhi his gurudeva, Gaura Kisora babaji. ( sanskrit name)babhu told that 'he is trying his best to make something to understand, informal. His face hadbecome red. Of course he was speaking Bengali and they are also Bengalis but we can't understandwhat he says. Much impression, his face is red. Sometimes he is giving slap on the table and we feelhe wants to devour us something, immeadiately. But we can't, we are like doll, we are sitting callous.We are callous he is not able to produce any impression on us but he is not being discouraged goingon with his full sentiment.What necessity Swami Maharaja had in youth? He took the risk of going abroad. And so helplesslywithout any provision for his food and clothing in that foreign land, unknown quarter. Took the risk of his life and got down there quite empty. Only captial the sweet will of Krsna. The sweet will of Krsna, the autocrat. He may do that, He may not care but only his capital was His will. His will, hisguru's suggestion, suggestion from his gurudeva he caught and he thought Krsna will help me. Withthis capital he went there empty handed. But what grand success we see in his activity.We are not courageous enough but he had the courage. And he showed it, proved to the world, thereis some unknown help can be got. Not only in the time of Christ and other messiah, but still that iscontinuing, He is there and He can do miracle. His little wish can show miracle to the world .

    Adbhutakrama, one stride is sufficent to cover the whole world. In phaman I do not get a glass of water for drinking and when there is flood, there is water water everywhere. How we will be savedfrom water? His will is such, we are infintesimal, He is infinite. So it will be the best interest of theinfintesimal to connect with the infinite. No greater prospect can be than this connection, this

    attempt to connect.Once in Bombay our guru maharaja told a poor girl, nothing, even attempt to eat and clothe, but if she is married to a rich man then by that connection she will become master of so much wealth. Sowe have nothing, but if we can have some affectionate connection with Krsna , everything belongs toKrsna , so I have got everything at my disposal. Only through the link of love it may be possible. Sothe highest prospect, through love we can attain. Even Krsna , who is the monarch of everything, Hebecomes my friend and He comes to satisfy me what of other things.Mahaprabhu has given such key in your hand. "Hey infintesimal soul go and become master of thewhole. Only connect with the real master in the thread of love". Such high position, highest of thehigh. It is in your fate, your fortune, unlock it. The possiblity the prospect is so great try to linkyourself with that tie. There is such subtle tie thread is possible you can tie with the absolute, I am

    giving you the clue. Don't pray for anything but take His name. And whatever He will give you of Hisown accord accept that. Don't pray. If you pray for anything that will be your loss. Don't pray only.Only want Him, pray Him and not anything which He can give. Pray His love, His attraction. Hisserving, His service that be the object of your prayer, nothing else. Then you will be loser.

    yare deha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa we are all out for that holliest duty. Not only to save the mortalsouls, mortal jiva , but this is the highest prospect you are to link them with. Noble andmagnanamous to the highest degree, to come to the fold of Mahaprabhu, Sri Gaurangadeva. To havethe clue Krsna says that the type of their approach in Vrndavana, divine love, can move Me to such a

    great extent that I think that whatever little they did to Me, still I cannot clear their debt. I thinkMyself I am indebted to them, I can't clear their debt, such fine cord they touch in Me when theycome through. The Vraja conception of love, prema . The prema that is found in Vrndavana whenanyone comes to approach Me with that type of service I forget Myself fully and I think My fine cord istouched in such a way that I think if I give them wholesale, still I am in debt. Such thing is never beenconceived is given by Mahaprabhu, Radha-Govinda Themselves combined. What more we expect,

    we tiny souls? What may be our expectation more, any more can we conceive? Never.Where should we go? Everywhere we find highest position. Infinite is such. Whatever point we touchon whatever side we approach, that is infinite. Nityananda Prabhu, Mahaprabhu, Krsna, Radharani,Yasoda, which ever way we shall approach the absolute. That everyone, our Guru Maharaja, whenever anything cooked well and served to him, distributed tohim and someone is asking him 'which of the cooked vegatables more tasteful?' When ever someone is asking to him, he said everything is better than everything.(Bengali) Everything is better thaneverything. That was a peculair answer. This is best, this is the next more, everything will be betterthan everything. Now you understand what.Whatever side we shall approach we shall find 'oh, this is what can satisfy my heart's thirst.'Everything in its own position is the best, it means that. Generally when, before joining GaudiyaMath, that is with our Guru Maharaja, we thought Rupa Goswami's position is higher. And thesahajiya section, Rupa, Sanantana they gave signature to the digvijaya . They did not care todiscuss. But Jiva Goswami could not tolerate, he came to discuss with the digvijaya and defeatedhim. And then asked 'now you should try to find the higher plane from which my gurus, Rupa-Sanatana, did not like to give you signature. They did not like to come down to such a plane. Thatdoes not mean that they are not scholars. Only to teach you that I have come to discuss with you.Otherwise I would have also given my sign. But you would have been deceived thereby. So for yourbenefit I had come to discuss with you about the sastra siddhanta. So some amongst the sahajiyas , 'oh, Jiva Goswami was a vaisnava of a lower order'. But we came tohear from Guru Maharaj that he is perfect in his own point of service. Different departments and

    every department is perfect in it's own way. So Jiva Goswami had his alloted service of that type andthere he is perfect, he is not less. This alternative is necessary. And also we are told that KavirajaGoswami says that after writing this book, "Who will read this book at present or in the future, I amhankering for their feet dust." Feet dust, everyone will read my book in future also, from here I offermy obeisances to the future generation. (Bengali verse) I am very low, lowest of the low I am. Butonly the incalculatable grace of the divinity has helped me to write this book. I have nothing." But onthe other hand, Vrndavana dasa Thakura, he has written "I am appealing to the public from allrespects with all my might accept. Try to understand who is Nityananda, who is Gauranga . They areso great so magnanamous, so merciful still if anyone does not accept Them by his own right, I like tokick on his head with my left foot." He said like that (Bengali verse) Of course apparently it is veryproud statement. Naturally we may think Kaviraja Goswami was a vaisnava of higher type and

    Vrndavana dasa was of lower type. But to my wonder I got interpratation from Guru Maharaja oneday. And he is speaking to some one, side issue and he mentioned that those the servants of Gaura-Nityandana , that by giving his punishment he has given some clue for their faith to come in thecamp of Gaura-Nityananda. They are lost finally. But only because Vrndavana dasa Thakura haspunished in such a way, Krsna's sympathy will come in that way to capture them, to take them in.He has made the way by such statement, undesireable statement, to the public he has given someconnection for them to come to Krsna .Do you follow? Am I clear?

    Krsna will think, 'my dear servant has treated them so rudely.' so Krsna will come to take care of those fellows. Suppose if a child is quarreling and beating another child. The mother of the childwho's is beating another will come to show sympathy to the other child who is done wrong by his ownchild. So, the Vrndavana dasa Thakura, the devotee of Nityananda , he has dealt cruely withsomeone. And Nityananda Prabhu will come to console him. "No, no my child has done somethingwrong. Don't mind, you come and take food in My house." Who had no other way but Vrndavana

    Thakura, by giving punishment to them, by speaking ill of them has connected them with theSupreme. As I heard first from the lips of my Guru Maharaja. He is so harmonizing. The harmonycomes to what extent? Adjustment to the greatest distance even crossing the limit it is going to takein. So any punishment from side of the devotee draws sympathy from the higher agent toward thatpunished person.(sanskrit ) Negative is also being into the positive. ( sanskrit ) That is indirect is being converted intodirect. anukula yasa sanga, anukula yena krsna anusilanam. So, some ( sanskrit ) that is beingconverted into ( sanskrit ) Indirect is being converted into direct. Everything is there, direct or indirectbut we find that indirect is being converted into direct. So conversion is possible everywhere,change.(Bengali)So today I take your leave.

    The end of side 'B'Devotee: We are all students.Srila Sridhara Maharaja: And my Guru Maharaja also told 'I am the monitor'. We must not be afraidof the eternal existance of our guide and guru. So we are always student, always to serve under theirdirection. ( sanskrit verse) Sadhu sanga , always it is necessary, the direction of the sadhus. Krsnabhakti janma mula haya sadhu sanga the very origin of Krsna bhakti is in the association of thesadhu. And krsna prema janme , when you have already aquired established in Krsna prema(sanskrit ) He is the principal part your transaction, your realization, your service and in every casehis guidance is necessary. Don't try to be perfect, that is the greatest desease. That is almost

    mayavada, that I am brahma, so 'ham . Daso 'ham that is healthy mantra, formula, daso 'hamalways. Mahaprabhu says "dasa dasa dasa anudasa" naham vipro na ca nara-patir napi vaisyo nasudro hajam varni na ca grha-patir no vanastho yatir va kintu prodyan nikhila paramananda-

    purnamrtabdher gopi-bhartuh pada-kamalayor dasa-dasaanudasah That is Mahaprabhu Himself says like that. For whom? Only for the new comers? Not for us? So, one who thinks he is inperfection, perfect state because he is appointed as acarya then he is the highest position. Hisposition is unvulnerable, undisputable, unasailable, if they think like that, they are gone, finished.Devotee: Maharaja, we are told that when our Gurudeva used to offer obeisances to SrilaBhaktisiddhanta, that Srila Bhaktisiddhanta would say " Daso 'smi"Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Yes. To everyone.Devotee: Everyone?!

    Srila Sridhara Maharaja: Everyone. Whoever he is. Not only his disciples, daso 'smi. Once it sohappend, I am not joined the Math, but I am comming and going in Calcuta, that hired house. And Isaw that he is sitting straight and who ever is comming and making bow, bow down, he bends hiswaist and " daso 'smi" in this way. I thought, it came in my mind, we are once bending our head andhe, the saint, is always bending his head in response to so many. So I should not bow down to him.

    That was my conclusion, at least I shall give some relief. So mentally I honored him and passedaway. I put this question to another senior disciple that I did so.
