Middle East and India, regions where governments have tried to curb Western influences, the women of the Middle East and India increasingly use fashion to make a political statement, blending Western concepts with distinctively islamic elements. From a black head scarf and loose fitted manteau, the women have challenged the state dress code by wearing different colours and statement dresses. The manteau has become a fashion statement in itself with lengths and colours changing from season to season. Elle magazine launched its first Middle Eastern magazine back in 2006 and for 2010 pakistan had their first ever fashion week. We welcome this style to the world-wide catwalk, and can already see this is going to become a top seller.
