What is different about Resurrection Sunday from all other Sundays? Jesus rose from the dead! This is history's most significant event. Mathew 28:6 “ He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come; see the place where the Lord lay. “ And because He lives, we live! Winston Churchill planned his own funeral, which took place in St. Paul’s Cathe-dral. He included many of the great hymns of the church and used the eloquent Anglican liturgy. At his direction, a bugler, positioned high in the dome of St. Paul’s, after the benediction intoned the haunting melody of Taps. The melancholy air gave the universal signal that Churchill’s day had come to an end. However, as soon as Taps had ended, Churchill had instructed another bugler, placed on the other side of the dome, to play Reveille: It’s time to get up in the morning. That was Churchill’s testimony that the last note of his time on earth was not Taps, a final end, but Reveille, a new begin-ning. The resurrection had its beginning on the hill of Calvary. Friday's death on the cross for our sins has passed and Sunday Resurrection has come! The Resurrection is the heart of the Christian faith, the ultimate triumph for Christ our Lord strengthens us with his Resurrection Life to face realities in this 21st Century. Christ’s resurrection is so crucial be-cause it is the foundation of a saving faith and the guarantee of His ever flowing life within us. For without His resurrection, we would have no salvation, no forgiveness, no hope, no peace or no connection to God. In the power of the resurrec-tion, the Eternal God becomes our Father in heaven and the shared experience of loving and enjoying His Presence as Jesus does. This is the ultimate triumphant and glorious celebration for His peo-ple: Jesus is risen indeed! And so shall it be. Halle-luiah! John 11:25-26 “ I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and be-lieves in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
