This is a good introduction for the beginners to the art of printmaking. This is a good introduction for the beginners to the art of printmaking. Drypoint uses a variety of sharp tools to score marks into the surface of a plate. This produces a burr, which holds the ink. The plate is inked up and then printed. Students will have the opportunity to create prints with plexiglass and copper plates and learn how to use the Takach press.

Learn how to draw the clothed human form from live models, gesture drawing, contour drawing etc.drawing, contour drawing etc. Take a gesture through to a finished drawing. Capture the action of the form, fill the page and keep the whole drawing on the page. Albert will teach the students how to see, sketch, gesture, contour, and capture the action of each drawing. They will learn how to lay out the drawing before putting in any detail and not just have a tiny little drawing on a large page. Each student will learn how to hold the pencil while sketching compared to drawing in detail.

Robert Achtemichuk was born in Yorkton, Sask. andcurrently lives in Kitchener. His undergraduate degreefrom the University of Manitoba focused on printmaking,and he has studied in France, Mexico and Toronto. Until recently, he was the Director of the Canadian Clay& Glass Gallery and now is returning to his studio practicewith shows planned in the Homer with shows planned in the Homer Watson Gallery andGlenhurst Art Gallery. Robert Achtemichuk acknowledgesthe support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Region ofWaterloo Arts Fund.

Marianne Broome was born in England but spent muchof her childhood in Malaysia. The stunning sceneryheightened her love of nature and keen interest in draw-ing and painting. Marianne settled in Canada in 1980 andnow lives in Schomberg. She is a full time artist and a sought after instructor. Her stunning paintings of flowers,landscapes and abstracts have been exhibited in manylandscapes and abstracts have been exhibited in manyjuried exhibitions, and she has received many awards.

Victoria Cowan is a prize-winning graduate of OCAD and Concordia University. Active both as a jurist and instructor, Victoria shows regularly and has won awards in painting and printmaking. Examples of her work, her teaching schedule and up-coming exhibitions can be seen at www.victoriacowan.ca

Robert Creighton received art training at HumberCollege, McMaster University, Edinburgh College of Artand the University of Toronto. He has exhibited and is represented in public and private collections in Canada,the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe, Australiaand South Africa. He currently lives and has a studio inLLynden, Ontario and prints at The Print Studio in Hamilton.

Diana Erb is a painter, art educator, small business ownerand mother. She studied Fine Art at the Ontario College ofArt and Design and at Concordia University in Montreal, QC.Diana received her BFA- major in Art Education - withdistinction in 2011. Diana has taught courses in painting, drawing, ceramics, mixed media, stop-animation and cyanotype printing. She specializes in working with children, cyanotype printing. She specializes in working with children, seniors and those with special needs.

Heather Franklin is a visual artist living and working in the Region. After graduating from the Ontario College of Art, she has spent over 20 years working as an artist, instructor, curator, gallery technician and arts administrator. Nancy Peng studied math at the University of Waterloobut has since enjoyed exploring painting and silverjewellery design in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo. Shehas exhibited her creations at the Harbinger Gallery andthe Button Factory. Her paintings depict varying perspec-tives and views of landscapes and her community.

Jonna Pedersen is an artist, activist and traveler who’s just returned from teaching in Seoul, South Korea. Her studio art has shown predominantly in Toronto and Seoul, but she’s also made street art in Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipeiand Phnom Penh. Peter John Reid was born in Plymouth, England, raised in Toronto, and for the last twenty-some years residing in rural Grey County in the heart of Niagara Escarpment country has provided him with a wealth of inspiration. His driving force has always been a need to create, in all mediums: wood, stone, plastic, and metal, but mostly in paint.paint.

Jamie Quinn is a graduate with honours of the Crafts and Design Textiles studio at Sheridan College in Oakville and continued her studies in Printed Matter and Relief Print-making at NSCAD in Halifax. She has also taken classes in Collagraph, Woodblock and Lino printmaking at the Button Factory, what she considers her second home. Jamie loves the smell of books, cap guns, drinking black cothe smell of books, cap guns, drinking black coffee with her boyfriend, collecting matchbooks and all things vintage.

Victoria Shannon is a visual artist working in a variety ofmedia on paper including acrylic, watercolour, collage and tempera, in conjunction with various drawing materials. Her work displays a reflective examination of the relevance of 'Found Objects'. Victoria's work has consistently been chosen to juried exhibits, garnered numerous awards and is found in private and corporate collections. She works from found in private and corporate collections. She works from her studio in Stratford.

Adam Schedler is a poet and photographer who will be convocating from the University of Waterloo with a degree in English Literature this summer. He likes Diet Coke, JamesJoyce, rye bread, and people like you.

Carolyn Riddell was born in Kitchener in 1961. Shecompleted a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph in1985 where she specialized in printmaking and painting studio in Guelph. Her studio is the home of her art product-ion as well as a shared etching press space and teachingfacility. She is a printmaking instructor at the Art Gallery ofHamilton, and the University of Hamilton, and the University of Waterloo/Cambridge Libraryand Gallery in Cambridge, Ontario.

Marshall Ward has taught life drawing for over ten years,and is the recipient of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Awardfor Teaching Excellence in 2007. He has exhibited hiswork throughout Southern Ontario, England and Japan,and has been published in International Artist and Canadian House and Home.

Terry Torra was born in Southern Ontario and graduatedfrom the UWO with an Honours Arts degree. He has exhibited extensively over the years across Ontariowith work currently at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Terryreceived the City of Cambridge’s Bernice Adams Awardin the visual arts. He is also an avid and accomplishedphotographer who has travelled in Canada, Europe,photographer who has travelled in Canada, Europe,Central America and the Far East.

Pat the Dog Playwright Centre has been helping emerging and established playwrights in Ontario since 2005.

Our non-profit organization is a member of the Playwrights’ Development Centres of Canada and supports the creative process through a series of script services.

We are advocates for playwrights‚ playwrights’ work‚ and the play distilled from that work. Our goal is to support, encourage and champion the plays from that work. Our goal is to support, encourage and champion the plays and playwrights we work with.

We are non-producing. However, we do work to create an active link between the production draft of a play and a staged production.
