Do you see games and sports as an ideal tool to make children become better citizens? If so, you are the one we are looking for! Our story: In 2007, Dina Buchbinder, social entrepreneur driven to make a difference in the education system of her native Mexico, founded a civic education program for children ages 6 to 12 called Deportes para Compartir (DpC), the parent organization of Sports for Sharing (S4S). DpC and S4S aim to develop children into conscious, engaged citizens through sports and games. DpC received immediate recognition and global acclaim with awards from the International Youth Foundation and Ashoka, among others. Already active in 29 states in Mexico, DpC has a successful track record of 7 years, with partnerships with over 1000 schools. This success showed us that the universal language of sports and games could be applied anywhere in the world to achieve change. The Washington, DC chapter was launched in April 2013 to work mainly with Hispanic youth. Here, we are a small, dynamic team that has motivated teachers and already inspired 500 young global citizens by introducing topics like the Millennium Development Goals, healthier lifestyles, gender equality, environmental sustainability and teamwork, among others. He/she will be trained and will work hand in hand with the Country Manager to develop programming and strengthen the existing infrastructure of the organization. Duties include but are not limited to: Perform extensive research to expand the network of partnerships in the Washington DC metro area Do community outreach and develop partnerships with local organizations Handle the impact evaluation data, teacher surveys and other field reports Coordinate curriculum development that includes creating educational interactive games Organize fundraising activities and support grant writing process Manage internal communication bulletin and newsletter Qualifications we are looking for: Spanish speaker strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly preferred Natural leader passionate about making a difference in the education sphere, especially for the Hispanic community in DC Experience leading groups of adults with the ability to engage and inspire youth Experience with fundraising and grant writing highly recommended Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written Commitment to volunteerism and community service track record Personal initiative and ability to work independently Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task Knowledge of computer and internet-based software for use in communications and grant requirements Basic knowledge of accounting, business and project management recommended but not required How to apply: Send us your Resume and Cover Letter to [email protected]. Our story:

What you will be doing:
