From Fabric A, fussy cut:six 11-1/2” x 9-1/2” rectangles
From Fabric B, cut:one 11-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: three 11-1/2” squares
From Fabric C, cut:six 6-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut: thirty-six 6-1/2” squares for the large HSTsone 6” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 6” squares
From Fabric D, cut:two 3-3/4” x WOF strips. Subcut: sixteen 3-3/4” squares for the small HSTs
From Fabric E, cut:six 2” x WOF strips. Subcut: twelve 2” x 17” rectangles

From Fabric G, cut:four 1-1/2” x WOF strips. Subcut: twelve 1-1/2” x 11-1/2” rectangles

Step 1: Pair a 6-1/2” Fabric C square with a 6-1/2” Fabric F square, RST. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one square. Sew 1/4” away from both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line, creating two half-square triangles (HSTs). Press toward the darker fabric. Trim to 6” square. Repeat to make seventy-two C/F HSTs.
Step 5: Sew a 1-1/2” x 11-1/2” Fabric G strip to the top and bottom edges of a Fabric A rectangle. Press. Repeat for all Fabric A rectangles. The resulting unit will measure 11-1/2” square.
Assemble the Half-Square Triangles (HSTs)
Assemble the Blocks
Step 2: Sew two C/F HSTs together along one Fabric F edge, as shown. Press. Repeat to make thirty-six pairs.
Step 3: Pair a 3-3/4” Fabric D square with a 3-3/4” Fabric F square, RST. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one square. Sew 1/4” away from both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line, creating two half-square triangles (HSTs). Press toward the darker fabric. Trim to 3-1/4” square. Repeat to make thirty-two D/F HSTs.
Step 4: Sew two D/F HSTs together along one Fabric F edge, as shown. Press. Repeat to make sixteen pairs.
Step 6: Gather:four 6” Fabric F squaresfour C/F HSTs pairsone completed Step 5 unit
Arrange together to form the Block, following the Block Assembly Diagram. Note the fabric placement and orientation of the HST pairs. Sew together as indicated, pressing the seams away from the HST pairs. The resulting block will measure 22-1/2” square.
Repeat to make nine Blocks, using the Fabric A units and Fabric B square for the centers.

Step 7: Gather:two 2-1/2” x 19-3/4” Fabric F rectangles one 2” x 3-1/4” Fabric F rectangleone 2” x 17” Fabric E rectangleone D/F HST pair from Step 4
Arrange as shown, sewing the 3-1/4” Fabric F rectangle to one short end of the Fabric E piece. Press. Sew a 19-3/4” Fabric F rectangle to both long edges of the unit. Press. Sew the C/D HST pair to the edge of the unit, as shown, noting the orientation and fabric placement of both sections. Press. Repeat to make eight units like this.
Assemble the Pieced Sashing
Step 8: Gather:two 2-1/2” x 17” Fabric F rectangles one 2” x 17” Fabric E rectangletwo C/D HST pairs from Step 4
Arrange as shown, sewing a Fabric F rectangle to both long edges of the Fabric E piece. Press. Sew the C/D HST pair to both short edges of the unit, as shown, noting the orientation and fabric placement of the sections. Press. Repeat to make four units like this.

Step 9: Arrange the Blocks together as indicated in the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Sew Row 1 together, using three Blocks and two Step 7 sashing units. Press seams toward the sashing. Repeat to make Row 3.
Step 10: Sew Row 2 together, using three Blocks and two Step 8 sashing units. Press seams toward the sashing.
Step 11: Gather two Fabric C cornerstone squares, two Step 7 sashing units and one Step 8 sashing unit. Sew together, using cornerstones between each sashing strip and beginning and ending the strip with a Step 7 unit. Press seams toward the sashing. Repeat to make a second sashing rows.
Step 12: Sew the sashing and block rows together, pinning and nesting the seams. Press seams open or to the sashing.
Your quilt top is complete. Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
