SPIRENT DATUM DATA AND MULTI-SERVICE PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT Since its initial introduction by Metrico Wireless in 2007, Datum has become a leading solution for carrier-grade data and multi-service performance measurement in the mobile industry, driving pre-launc h device performance certification for five of the top seven U.S. operators, and utilized for internal testing by the world’s largest OEMs. Over 700 distinct device models have been evaluated using Datum, designed for robust and repeatable analysi s of performance from the subscriber point of view on any device, any network, anywhere. As mobile networks evolve to 4G, operators are increasingly capable of delivering — and subscribers are taking for granted — the ability to multi-task on their smartphones. While the end state of converged networks gets ever closer, operators are in various stages of transition — including dual-radio devices or Circuit- Switched Fall Back (CSFB) — and need to monitor the quality of experience for their distinct implementations of simultaneous voice and data. Test engineers download the Datum client for the subject device’s operation system. The client can then connect via the cloud to thespecific test set established centrally.
