SPIE Startup Challenge Sponsorships

BUILD VISIBILITY AS A SUPPORTER OF INNOVATION, NEW BUSINESS AND YOUNG TALENT. SUPPORT SPIE AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY BY BECOMING A SUPPORTER OF THE SPIE STARTUP CHALLENGE.

SPIE-run Startup Challenge, is a business-pitch competition for photonics entrepreneurs at Photonics West in San Francisco. The Top 10 Finalists receive invitations to attend UC Davis Entrepreneurship Academy and the Top 3 Finalists receive cash and equipment awards totaling $22,500.

SPIE Startup Challenge gives you the opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs who may be future talent for your organization, grow the market, perhaps become new customers or suppliers, and bring new possibilities into your R&D horizon.

• Sponsors can choose from one of three opportunities with varying level of visibility and roles (e.g. analyst of paper applications, pitch-clinic coach, or on-the-spot expert judge) are available:Pre-Event Vetting Judge: judges consider applications who will make it to the next stageInstructional Pitch Practice Coach: practice pitches will be evaluated in a consultative manner, with time devoted to advice on content and styleFinalist Judge: final pitches evaluated by a different set of judges, who score the finalists and award cash prizes.
