Module Title: English for Hospitality
Duration: 4 weeks

Overview and Aims
This module has been designed to prepare students for work in the hotel and restaurant service
industries by equipping them with industry specific communication skills. The module aims to
improve the four essential language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing. The
industry-related scenarios and exercises allow students to practise vocabulary required when
delivering hospitality services. The module will also provide students with a base for English
communication required to complete other modules in the course. The overall aim of the course
is to build the students’ confidence when dealing with customers, colleagues, management,
external parties and general correspondence.
