Who we are?

with manufacturing processes by developing concepts, creating solutions and seeing design
through to finished product”
Simply, we are the best mechanical design engineers in Alberta. We specialize in prototyping and small
run manufacturing of both skid mounted, self-propelled and trailer mounted equipment. We cross
industries from agricultural to the oilfield and always deliver a high quality, efficient and easy-to-build
design.
Sparta Engineering is a young and progressive team with backgrounds in manufacturing. This allows us
to design in a way that fully leverages modern manufacturing techniques. We work closely with several
manufacturing companies in Alberta to ensure our products get manufactured on time and to the highest
quality.
Sparta Engineering has a close relationship with CBI Manufacturing who completes many of our
manufacturing projects. CBI is a cutting edge manufacturing facility with the latest tools and trained staff
as well as a successful API Q1/ISO9001 quality program. CBI Manufacturing also has their API
qualifications and produce 4F derricks (masts) and 7k drawworks from scratch on site. The close
partnership between Sparta and CBI generates a superior product to other Alberta manufacturing
because everything happens on site include the engineering and raw steel processing, right through
powder coating the finished product.
Sparta’s attention to detail is evident at all levels of product design and development. Sparta’s engineers
are onsite during the manufacturing process offering project management support, maintaining quality,
and acting on behalf of the customer.
What is Special about Sparta’s Service Rigs and Masts?
All of the mast/derricks included in this package are designed and built using high tensile plate steel
instead of regular tubing. This helps us reduce the weight, while maintaining a strong and stiff mast.

All our products have full engineering support so if you don’t see the exact specifications you are after,
we will design to meet your needs. We utilize 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) to model up all of our
equipment before production. We also have full finite element analysis capabilities to quickly and
efficiently analyze and optimize design changes.
