what's new in this timetable?

The first journey on Mondays to Saturdays from Newport bus station at 05:10 has been retimed to depart 5 minutes earlier at 05:05 and the return journey from the Cowes Co-op at 05:21 has been retimed to depart at 05:16. Early and late journeys on Sundays which do not connect with a Red Jet ferry will terminate at the Cowes Co-op stop.

Following a public consultation some months ago, there will be significant changes to route 1 from March 2015. Please look out for more information.

The 15 minute frequency along the Ryde - Shanklin corridor will start at 07:17 instead of 09:07 as a result of two additional route 2 departures from Newport at 06:25 and 06:50 plus one at 18:30 from Ryde and one additional route 3 departure also from Newport at 05:50. Times at Lake, Godshill, Merstone and Blackwater have been adjusted.

Route 2 from Sandown (Monday to Saturday) at 06:53, 07:23 & 07:53 will depart two minutes later.

Route 3 from Ryde at 05:35 will depart at 05:30 with earlier times to Ventnor and early and late journeys that do not connect with Island Line will not serve Shanklin railway station.The 08:07 route 3 on Sundays from Ventnor to Newport will start from Sandown at 07:44.

The route 3 from Newport at 17:05 and 18:05 and from Ryde at 18:15 will have additional time with journeys extended between 5 & 10 minutes.

The route 3 from Newport on Sundays at 22:25 and 23:35 will have additional time and the 23:40 from Ryde will depart at 23:50, also on Sundays only.

The 20:10, 20:40 & 21:15 route 3 from Ryde will depart five minutes later to connect with the hovercraft.

The 22:40 from East Cowes to Newport has minor timing changes. The 22:55 from Newport will depart five minutes later at 23:00 and the return at 23:10 from East Cowes will depart at 23:15.

There are minor timing changes to early and evening buses and the 20:30, 21:00 and 21:30 departures from Newport will depart five minutes earlier at 20:25, 20:55 and 21:25. The 21:15, 21:45 and 22:15 departures from Totland will also depart five minutes earlier at 21:10, 21:40 and 22:10.

The 16:40 departure from Newport on Mondays to Saturdays will arrive five minutes later in Ryde at 18:19. The 17:20 departure from Ryde is retimed and will depart at 17:30.

The 05:15 departure from Newport on Mondays to Saturdays will depart five minutes earlier at 05:10 and the 07:05 departure from Newport from Monday to Saturday is withdrawn and

replaced with departures at 07:00 and 07:10. There are slight amendments to the times at Binstead, Wootton, Staplers and Fairlee on early morning and later evening journeys every day.

The first route 23 from Newport will commence at Newchurch, returning direct to Newport, with major retiming of subsequent journeys.

Passengers from Knighton, Newchurch & Alverstone travelling on the first journey will need to go via Sandown in order to reach Newport.

The Saturday service will be withdrawn after 18th October.

All journeys will be rerouted from the Horseshoe inn via Four Cross and Three Gates Road to rejoin the existing route at Somerton mini-roundabout.

The 11:30 journey from Cowes will operate via Gurnard and Hillis Corner and not via Cockleton Lane.

The 18:05 departure from Ryde is retimed to leave at 18:25.

at the bus stopAll our stops have a list of departure times, make sure you are at the bus stop in plenty of time. Put your hand out to stop the bus making sure the driver can see you clearly. At night why not use the screen of your mobile phone as a light source to make sure you are clearly visible?

Take care moving around the bus, take a seat if one is available and use the handrails when going upstairs

We are happy to carry wheelchair users as well as buggies and pushchairs, please leave space for these in the designated area on the bus. The driver may request users in this area to move if a wheelchair user wants to board, please let's help everyone get on board

Well behaved dogs are welcome on our buses, you don't even have to pay but we would ask that you keep them (and other pets!) on the floor and not on the bus seats

Smoking is against the law on buses and we would also ask you to not bring alcohol or hot drinks on board. Please don't bring takeaway food on the bus, this is unpleasant for other people travelling and causes problems with greasy leftover food and wrappers

Enjoy music through earphones or chat with friends to make the journey go quicker but please consider everyone around you and keep noise down to a reasonable level. Please do not put your feet on the seats, this makes them dirty for other people

Tickets and faresWe offer a range of tickets to suit your needs whether you're an occasional or regular traveller, island resident or visitor. Adult fares apply to anyone aged 19 years and above, child fares apply from 5 - 18 years and children under 5 travel free.

Single, on the day, cash faresFor the occasional traveller, available to any point on the island, even if you need to change buses to reach your destination - ask for a through ticket - buy from the driver with cash. Sample fares: Ryde to Yarmouth or Freshwater�4.50, Wootton to Northwood �3.50.

Rover ticketsAvailable for unlimited travel across our network for either 24 or 48 hours, ideal if you are out and about for a day or a weekend. Group tickets are also available for up to 5 people travelling together. Buy from the driver with cash or from our travel shop in Newport bus station.

ConcessionsWe accept English national concessionary bus passes for free travel on Southern Vectis bus services between 9:30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and at any time on weekends and bank holidays. Island Residents who hold an English National Disabled Pass or an Isle of Wight Council Gold or Silver New Islander Card may also travel free at peak times on any day. Companions of C+ card holders are required to pay normal fares. Concessionary bus passes cannot be used for free travel on our Island Breezer & Coaster routes but you can purchase a concession ticket valid on Island Breezer & Coaster routes for �5 giving unlimited travel for the day. Quarr Abbey, RydeThis small Cistercian monastery was founded in 1131 and was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1536. Needles Old and New BatteryThe Needles Old Battery is a Victorian fort in the care of the National Trust.
