South Shelby Chamber of Commerce business leaders take the lead after devastating storms strike Alabama. It is amazing to see how the business and community leaders in our area volunteer their time, money and resources to help others in need after the many tragically hit areas in our great state.
We have seen so many of our members take action and contribute
to the cause to helping others in need! At the chamber offi ce we took great pride in helping organize volunteers, donations and communications for relief efforts.
Our community as a region and state are one when it comes to our overall needs and well being and it is important to help our friends and neighbors just as we would want to be helped.
It is with great pride and humility that we thank our business and community leaders for all the good works you are doing not only locally everyday but in helping communities affected by the storms rebuild for a better today and tomorrow!

May LuncheonOn May 6, 2011 the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce met with a wonderful and informative program featuring the Counties website and its many opportunities for businesses and citizens by Phil Burns, Chief Information Offi cer for Shelby County.
Not only did Mr. Burns educate the luncheon attendees on www.shelbycountytourism.org, but also www.shelbyal.com and shelbyso.com. Chamber President Brenda Frias welcomed everyone and introduced Shirley Middleton and Chief David Latimer of the Town of Harpersville. Col Glenn Nivens made announcements for the Blue Star Salute Foundation upcoming events.
The chamber welcomed the businesses from Harpersville such as L’s Treasures, Perk’s BBQ, Blue Star Salute, Ruby Slippers, Waffl e House, and the City of Harpersville.
We welcomed new members Karl C. Harrison Museum of George Washington, Cates Milk Hauling, The Cat’s Meow Family Consignment Shop, Juice Plus+-Vicki Everett, Zija-Agnes Glenn, American Hospice, Tiffany’s Salon, Formaggio’s Italian Bistro, and Groomingdales Pet Salon.
Shelby County RSVP program volunteers, organized by director Marvin Copes, set-up our luncheon and helped serve food. Special thanks from the Chamber Offi ce Staff to Marvin Copes and the Shelby County RSVP Volunteers for all you do for us each month in helping us have a successful luncheon!

The 26th annual Liberty Day Celebration presented by M & F Bank event begins on Friday night, June 24th and continues on Saturday, June 25th. Bring a chair or blanket and your family and join us on Main Street in Columbiana for Friday Night Live-Music on Main. Saturday morning begins the day long festivities (food, arts and crafts vendors, music, children’s activities, and a parade). Saturday night
