Join award-winning, internationally-published wildlife photographer, instructor and author Kathleen Reeder for an exclusive 10-day wildlife photography workshop/safari at South Africas Ukutula, Pilanesberg National Park and Shambala Private Game Reserve, all malaria-free destinations. South Africa lies on the southern tip of the African Continent. The country boasts vibrant beaches, dramatic mountain ranges, Big 5 safaris and unparalleled cultural diversity with English as its first official language. With expert wildlife photography instruction before and during the trip, local South Africa expert guides and a vast array of exciting wildlife, you will capture the images you have dreamed about! This workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced photographers who want to capture special moments with the wildlife of South Africa. Ukutula Ukutula is known worldwide for its conservation through research and education. Ukutula owners Willi and Gill Jacobs host more than two thousand school children each year who participate in their educational program. Ukutula has hosted several research projects including the white gene project that was published in Nature Communications. This is the exclusive destination where you have the opportunity to be close to lions of all ages, including interacting with young lions and walking with juvenile lions. The photography opportunity is fantastic. Predator residents include lion, cheetah, hyena, tiger and caracal. In addition, the unspoiled bushveld has giraffe, zebra, a variety of antelope, crocodile and more than 130 different bird species. Ukutula will lift your spirits and enable you to create your best up-close lion and cheetah photos ever. Each person or couple will lodge in a private chalet on Ukutulas property.

Pilanesberg National Park Among South Africas fascinating game reserves, Pilanesberg National Park is possibly the most accessible. Situated in the ecologically rich transition zone between the dryness of Kalahari and wet Lowveld vegetation, the Park attracts virtually all animal species native to southern Africa, including the Big 5 (lion, elephant, cape buffalo, black rhino, leopard) and more than 360 species of bird. The relatively small size of the park dramatically increases the chance of encountering the Big 5 in their natural environment. This destination provides morning and late afternoon private game drives for our group. In addition, concealed photographic hides within the Park at water holes provide a comfortable option off vehicle for capturing amazing images during the day. Each person or couple will lodge in a private room at Bakubung Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park.

Shambala Private Game Reserve Shambala, which means Paradise on Earth, is home to a rich diversity of magnificent wildlife, including the Big 5. The game roam free, from the thundering rhino to the proud lion, where the mighty elephant trumpets its power and the cry of the fish eagle brings Africa to life. Shambala is actively involved in wildlife conservation and a comprehensive anti-rhino poaching program. In addition to exclusive safari drives on the reserve, it is at Shambala where you will:

Enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Douw Steyn Dam, the largest man-made dam in Southern Africa. The dam is home to herds of hippos, as well as crocodiles.

Have the exclusive opportunity to photograph elephants from outside the vehicle on the ground, for those unique perspectives.

Go on a spot-lit night game drive Tour and enjoy a picnic at the Nelson Mandela Centre for Reconciliation. Inspired by his deep

friendship with the former President, Shambalas owner Douw Steyn commissioned this home on the reserve. This special retreat gave Mr. Mandela the opportunity to work uninterrupted in peace and solitude, and provided him the space and tranquility to strengthen his considerable efforts towards global and local reconciliation.

Each person or couple will lodge in a private luxury chalet at Zulu Camp on the reserve.
