MESMET system is a result of E-Smart Systems experts’ hard work in a branch of Smart metering. The system is constructed for remote reading and electric meter control, moreover, it supports DLMS and IEC 62056-21 standards and it can be easily adjusted and used for remote meter reading of consumption, gas, water, heating measurements, etc.

MESMET system enables its users to achieve significant saving and the greatest resource usage. Next to the direct expense reduction of electric meter readings, the savings in a branch of loss shortenings have been achieved. The system provides a precise control of meter’s network and well-timed insight in irregularities in the field. The information acquired from the remote meter readings is used in numerous analytical processes which provide better distribution control and measured resource consumption, reduction of expenses, the analyze of the network condition, the control of electric power, etc. Authorized users can also access this information by special web application.

MESMET system also has its own protection mechanisms based upon symmetrical cryptographical systems, subsystem for logging and audit activities, as well as subsystems for automatic update version and license control.

According to the requirements and capacities of the network that use MESMET software system, there are two solutions:

- MESMET XT software system for automatic remote managing of meters (AMM). This system has been built for networks of great capacities; however, it can be used for networks with more than 500 000 users.

- MESMET One software system is suitable for automatic remote meter readings in network segments of small capacities (up to 2000 meters). MESMET One is an economic solution appropriate for pilot projects for remote meter readings. It is particularly suitable for business customers, which desire to control, p l a n a nd op t im i z e t h e con sump t i o n , a nd finally, to reduce expenses.

MESMET XT Software system

The MESMET XT system for automatic collecting of distant meter information is composed of four entities:

1. MESMET XT CENTRAL – the central part for the control of entire system, maintenance of its configuration and control of collected data.

2. MESMET XT COLLECT – the part of the system intended for direct communication with meters, respectively, the automatic meter readings.

3. MESMET XT REPORT – the part of the system intended for forming and showing reports about collected data to the widest set of users.

4. MESMET XT WEB – the part of the system over which the authorized users, by Internet, access reports based on their data.

The system enables automatic information collecting and data control, as well as access to the latest information for users owing to services such as Job Manager, Replication service, Services for validation and data processing, Report services. The core of the system is MESMET XT Central and one or more MESMET XT Collect configurations. MESMET XT Report and MESMET XT Web are optional system parts.

MESMET XT Software system

The MESMET XT system for automatic collecting of distant meter information is composed of four entities:

MESMET XT Collect

MESMET XT Collect system is realized as a specialized software-hardware set intended for direct support for communication with the meters. The communication by IEC-62056 and DLMS/COSEM standards is currently supported. The capacity of this part of the system depends on users’ requirements. In its basic version, it is consisted of MESMET XT Collect users’ application, one data base server and communication system.

MESMET XT Collect application is used for:

1. Administration of meter’s parameters and communication network

2. Data readings from the meter and Command Addressing towards meters,

3. Reading Monitoring,

4. The Evidence of the manual readings (pocket PC, reader file).

Communication system for data collecting on the software level is consisted of windows services that communicate directly with remote meters, whereas the communication server is placed on hardware level. The communication server has up to 32 GSM/GPRS modems and provides enough capacities for 30.000 meters two times a day via GSM, GPRS, PLC, Zigbee, RS485 channels. Due to available server’s hardware and organizational and structural distribution, one MESMET XT Collect data base server can connect more than 30 communication servers or set individual data base servers connected with smaller number communication servers. After the reading and validation, the data are preserved in MESMET XT Collect server base; data are prepared and synchronized with the server within MESMET XT Central.

Modularity:Beside the CORE module, system optionally can have WEB module,

Reporting module, Validation, Evaluation and Estimation

module, Calculation module.

Scalability:

Scalable for small, medium and large networks (Mesmet One up to 2000,

and Mesmet XT up to 500000 meters)

MESMET XT Report

MESMET XT Report system is realized upon SQL 2008 Reporting services. This system provides processing, tabular and graphic data representation from the MESMET XT system data base. Reports that have been generated by this application provide necessary information about network quality, load profile, event log, billing registers. On the reports, this information is appropriately systematized and (graphical or tabular) represented, so that they enable the user to have the best and easiest desired survey. This system provides formation of reports according to the set schedule. There is a possibility to set different criteria during generating reports themselves depending on what should be presented. The set of reports that MESMET XT Report ensures is defined in accordance with users’ needs. This set is additionally changeable.

MESMET XT Web

MESMET XT Web system is optional part of the MESMET XT system realized upon Microsoft IIS 7.0 platform and it is primarily intended for system end users. The authorized users can access data from distant locations via this web application. Next to this access and in accordance with their needs, users can also:

-Define entered parameters for report generating and -Monitor the meters that do the measurements on users authorized places.
